Family holiday

Great property in first class condition - well placed for all amenities. Lots of hills so you’ll leave fitter than when you arrived. Host was very helpful and Whitby is a great place to holiday - we couldn’t have asked for more

Loved our stay

Perfect location. Brilliant amenities-home from home. Scrupulously clean. Good communication with owners. 1 small issue, had to vacate by 10.00. Meant that on our last night we were all conscious that we had to be up and out by 10.00. Appreciate the place has to be cleaned but would have preferred 11.00.

Comfortable, spacious house

We chose this property on location, just 5 minutes walk from the harbour. Steepish walk up, but even my 86 year old Dad managed just fine. The accommodation is spacious, warm and comfortable with every amenity catered for. We ate out a couple of times and there are lots of fabulous cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance, but cooked most evenings as we were cautious about coronavirus. It was a pleasure to eat in the cosy dining room. Communication with the owner was spot on. No rental property is perfect and my only comment would be about the sofas, a little uncomfortable and probably due to be replaced. However this wouldn’t stop us staying here again.

October 22

We stayed for three nights for the Goth weekend October 22 & had a wonderful time. The house was lovely, within easy walking distance of everything, clean, warm and had everything we needed. I don’t think any of us would find fault with it in any way. Would definitely recommend.

Great central location

The property easily accommodated 7 people. Well equiped with everything needed for our stay. Instructions for checki in and items within the house were clear and easy to follow. There was little parking space on the street but the nearby car park was easily walkable frombthe house.

The Judges House is excellent!

Clean, plenty of room for the 7 grown ups and spacious enough to not get on each other’s nerves! Beautiful house! Didn’t want to leave! Excellent communication with the owners - they were very patient with all my silly questions! Sea gulls didn’t get the memo that it is a quiet neighbourhood, but you can’t help that seeing as it is by the sea! Would highly recommend and definitely would try and stay there again if we ever get to come back to Whitby.

Gorgeous house

This simply lovely house is fully equipped as a family home, with comfy furniture, lots of book and DVDs, kitchen equipment and crockery, bed and bathroom linens. All rooms throughout were a generous size. It is central Whitby so everywhere is just a short walk, including the lovely bakeries and many pubs. It’s a bit tricky to find initially, so do follow the host’s instructions. I do recommend this house for a long or short stay, as it was perfect in every way, from it’s bold blue front door to the cute rear courtyard, and my 7 companions were in complete agreement.

Judges House

Lovely relaxed few days was had by all.. Amenities and location was everything stated on the web site. All bedrooms and ensuites were thoroughly cleaned, and kitchen had all that was needed to enjoy a lovely meal.. One small grumble..!! The dining table would be really cramped if 8 people were to all eat around it. Not big enough in my opinion for 8 people. But thats it. So would I recommend this lovely house. YES I would definately..!! Would I make a repeat visit..?? YES I would definately...!! No need to say anymore, so get yourselves to Whitby and book into the Judges House you will not regret it...!!

A great place to stay....

The property is perfectly located in Whitby to enjoy all the local amenities - a very short walk to the town centre and harbour. The house was well equipped and clean and tidy when we arrived, there was plenty of space for our family group of six adults and the three bath/shower rooms meant there was no squabbling!! The parking was very limited and we had to use the local car park but this was also only a short walk from the property. I would thoroughly recommend The Judge's House.

Lovely house in great location, great for a family gathering.

We had a great time staying at the Judge's house, we were a family of 6 and also joined for a while by my partner's two sons. The house is spacious and there was plenty of room for everyone to sleep and lounge around, and a lovely huge dining table to gather around at the end of the day. Parking onsite is near impossible during holiday times, but the permits for the local car park, and the map about how to walk back to the property, were a great addition. It is also reasonably easy to drive to the house, which is in a cul de sac, and offload luggage before parking in the West Cliff car park. The location is great, you can walk to the town and the beach easily (the beach towels and the beach mats provided were a very nice touch!), and there are plenty of places within walking distance to get a drink, meal or takeaway. There was really good wifi, which is important when you travel with 6 young people!! Altogether a very pleasant experience!

Well equipped, comfortable house, great location

A nice spacious house with everything we needed for our stay. Great communication from Pam and perfect location within Whitby. We didn't manage to find a space on the road but it was no problem to park in the nearby car park using the permits provided.

Lovely property in a peaceful yet central location

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and spacious. All the rooms were made up nicely and there was a generous welcome tray. The sun came out for a bit allowing us to enjoy a glass of wine in the pretty little garden. The house is located near the west cliff which is handy for parking and walking to the restaurants and shops. I will definitely stay at the property again, I've been visiting Whitby for years and this is the best accommodation I've stayed in. A big thank you.

Lovely stay in sunny Whitby

We had a lovely time staying at the Judges House for a short weekend. The check-in process is straight forward and the parking permits and scratch card provided were very considerate. Parking on the road itself is difficult but the car park is a 5 minute walk and you can park one vehicle on a nearby street. The house is beautiful, very spacious, modern and clean bathrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed and it’s great not having to remember to bring towels etc. The property is in the town but tucked away. Close enough to pop in and out of the shops but you don’t get any noise from nearby pubs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, many thanks!

Halloween in Whitby

Much to our surprise there was a chest full of Halloween costumes- perfect for our 5 year old granddaughter. She enjoyed hours of make believe playtime. The house is perfect for three generations with plenty of space to spread out for everyone. Having a bathroom on each of the three floors was also a big plus. Games, books and puzzles kept us busy in the cool, wet evenings. We loved being able to walk everywhere - to collect fossils, eat in great restaurants, climb to the Abbey etc. Whitby is a perfect place for a short holiday getaway.

Wonderful birthday weekend with friends

We really enjoyed our stay in this fabulous house. It's so full of character and the attention to detail made it extremely comfortable for everyone. It’s also spotlessly clean. It's in a perfect central location so it's easy to walk into wonderful Whitby with everything on your doorstep. The owner provided us with three parking permits. One was for the road outside the house (but unfortunately no available space when we arrived) and two for a local car park 5 minutes walk away. If you are depending on parking directly outside the property this might be something to consider? We were fine parking in the car park. We had a wonderful stay in Whitby in this beautiful property and would definitely book it again!
