Great location and everything you need
Bakewell is a lovely town with lots of walking opportunities right from the door of this cottage, just five minutes walk from the town center. The cottage is well equipped; I can’t think of anything it didn’t have. The appliances were modern and easy to operate, including a washer and driver. The internet was superb. Checking in was simple with the key in a combination box outside, so no need to arrange a meeting with the owner. Speaking of which, Lucy is kind and responsive. She was extremely helpful with a transportation problem we were having. The welcome bottle of wine was much appreciated. We enjoyed our stay immensely.

Lovely stay
4 of us stayed for 3 nights on an icy weekend in January. We walked Kinderscout on a very bright frosty morning. Snow capped. Did The Monsal trail next day but couldn’t cycle too icy. Cottage was a delight very comfy for 4 adults.

Perfect Cottage in Bakewell!
What a picturesque location!!! The chiming of the church bells welcomed us to The Cottage and continued to remind us all week of the Fairy Tale village we were staying in. We were able to walk to restaurants, the Co op, the adorable village itself and I even had a broken foot! We attended the historical church on Sunday morning and a fantastic concert there one evening of the Kings Men. We enjoyed many meals in the garden with a view of the the church steeple and loved walking through the private alleyway to get to our back door. Everything was so quaint and a perfect location to enjoy the Peak District taking day trips. The proximity to Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and the Monsal Trail was lovely. My husband rented a bicycle and enjoyed morning rides through the local fields and trails. Bakewell is such a friendly village and they made us feel right at home. Lucy is a wonderful hostess making a special trip over and providing us with a fan since there were going to be unexpectedly warm temperatures. Thank you Lucy for our idyllic week in Bakewell! We loved it!

Really lovely stay.
Lucy and Mike's cottage was lovely. Two minutes from town centre, but so quiet with beautiful views down the valley from upstairs. It was clean, tidy and lovely touches to welcome you. Thank you so much for our stay.

Wonderful Christmas in Bakewell
We booked this cottage to stay near to family over Christmas and it exceeded all our expectations. It was very well equipped, all rooms were very well proportioned and suited to a small family, and the gifts (biscuits, mince pies, prosecco) were much appreciated. The cottage is also very well stocked with the basic supplies you'd need for self-catering such as milk, tea, coffee, salt, olive oil - sounds simple but is often not the case. As keen cooks, it was also one of the best equipped kitchens we've ever experienced on holiday, from an electric whisk, to a stove top coffee pot. All round, a great stay.

Lovely cottage, great location
The cottage was very clean, cosy, warm and comfortable. It had everything that we needed for a week’s stay. The owners were very responsive to messages. The location was perfect for exploring Bakewell which is a lovely town and various walks in the Peak District including Mam Tor. We brought our bikes and enjoyed cycling on the Monsal Trail and round the Derwent reservoir and dam. Although no allocated parking, a parking permit was provided and we always managed to find a space in the surrounding side roads. We definitely recommend the property and would happily stay here again.

Terrific cottage in a great location
We had a lovely stay in this cottage. The location is fantastic - central, but very quiet. The cottage was spotless and very well appointed. There are lots more "things" than are listed in the property description. Parking was a bit tricky for us - the spaces seemed to be in hot demand. But that is only a minor point. Overall we had a great time. Our kids are already asking when we can go back. Thanks to Lucy and Mike!

small clean tidy cottage with all the things you could need. It was very cold when I arrived , but once I turned up the heating the whole place was warm and cosy within an hour. Great situation just a couple of minutes walk from shops and pubs/restaurants.

A quaint , sparkling clean cottage in a perfect location! It had everything a traveler needs for a home away from home. Lucy and Mike had terrific communication, check in was a breeze. We loved our stay and hope to be back in the future.

Comfortable, well appointed cottage
This is a comfortable, well appointed cottage in a great location near the centre of Bakewell. It's a short stroll to restaurants, shops and pubs and the tek back up the hill helps you burn off your dinner. The only negative comment is that the bed in the master bedroom is fairly uncomfortable.

Great cottage, great owner experience
This was a delightful property, close to everything in town but located just up the hill on a quiet street. The cottage was clean and had all the amenities we could want; the full-sized dryer was particularly welcome during our stay. There was ample room for our family of four. I must also mention that not only was the owner very responsive to communications, they went above and beyond to help me out when VRBO's own booking process experienced issues. Hope to have the chance to stay again.

Cosy cottage
We were very comfortable in our mid-winter stay here. Good bed, great duvet, central heating and wood-burning stove. Many thanks for the very welcome welcome pàck! Although we didn't need to cook, the kitchen is equipped with everything you might need.
