Cottage in Kingussie, Scottish Highlands, Scotland - Private Location 2 Minutes From Town Centre. 1 double bedroom, 1 twin or double en suite room, and 1 twin or double bedroom with single sofa bed. The kitchen is well stocked with quality utensils and has comfortable dining for 8 guests. The lounge has a widescreen TV which has SKY channels available. The garden is fully enclosed with a fence/wall. Outside garden furniture is situated on our very private south facing patio.

Super spot, in a super little town.

A lovely cottage sitting above, yet hidden from, the local housing. Much larger than we expected, and with plenty of room for the six of us (+ two dogs). An easy 10 minute walk from the train station. The kids were pleasantly surprised that they could plug in the sofa and motor their feet up - whilst the rest of us could go out and enjoy ourselves. The cottage is only around 10 minutes walk from the foot of the excellent little Creag Bheag, with Loch Gynack just beyond. Needless to say, the dogs were well exercised. Kingussie is a great little town, having practically everything you'd need - we were fortunate to arrive the evening before Market Day, which was a bonus. Thanks again, we had a lovely stay.

Lovely stay in Kingussie and Stoneybrae cottage

The cottage was perfect. The kids loved the well stocked toy and game closet, what a treasure that was to discover. Dinner in nearby Aviemore and hikes in the area were easily accessible from Kingussie. The Sugar Bowl cafe was incredible, walkable with kids.

Spacious bungalow

The property is spacious and well located for outdoor activities. The living room was comfortable and the kitchen well-equipped with a large dining table. The place could do with a bit of updating inside and the outside area needed some TLC. However it met our needs

Host not reachable, access code arrived with 1day delay.

This booking was a nightmare since the phone number of the host was no longer valid and we hadn’t received any access code or keys. Over 6 hours vrbo didn’t act proactively but only enforced us to get to the property. At 9pm we eventually had to find an alternative accommodation for a family with 5 persons - no support from vrbo.

Comfortable, well equipped and great location

This is the best self-catering property we have stayed in. It is comfortable, well equipped, quiet at night, totally private, within walking distance of shops and restaurants but also has many local walks that take you into the countryside. It is also easy to drive to the main road to take you further afield. We could walk our dogs in a nearby field, which was very handy.

Excellent base for the area.

Nice sized 3 bedroom cottage. Good sized kitchen which served as our hub. Decent sized frint room.with log burner was very welcome in the evening for relaxing. Overalll house heating was good and hot water was more than ample.

Perfect Retreat for Us

We had a great 2 week stay at this property. Cottage was clean, tidy and had everything we needed. Very good location for exploring the Highlands. No complaints at all.

Really cosy and stylish cottage

A lovely cottage, really comfortable and well decorated. Log burning stove for added coziness in winter. Good kitchen with all the things you need. Close to Co-op and train station.

Highland retreat!

Quiet location but only a short walk to the shops. Kingussie has an excellent butcher and cheese shop as well as a Co-op for groceries. The house has lots of space for us all to cook or relax, especially with the fire lit!

Munro bagging!

Excellent location and a base to operate from, would love to come back. Really enjoyed the hills and the lakes and well equipped house full of essentials. Lovely beds to come back to after a long hot day, just wished it was colder so we could have used the fire!

Charming

When the weather is nice, you can sit outside and watch the sunset over the Highlands. View of mountains from the kitchen is great. Short walk to town. A little hard to find. When you come to the end of the street there will be a sign to the cottage. Just drive up the hill.

Gemütliches kleines Ferienhaus

Unsere Ankunft war dank des Schlüsseltresors stressfrei. Das Haus war sehr gemütlich und hatte alles was wir brauchten. Aufgrund der Teppiche in den Schlafzimmern nicht unbedingt für Allergiker geeignet. In der Nähe gibt es einen Supermarkt, eine Apotheke und einen leckeren Imbiss. Einen Ort weiter gibt es eine Tankstelle mit E5 (gibt es nicht an jeder Tankstelle).

Lovely cottage in Kingussie

Stonybrae Cotrage is a delightful place. The weather was perfect for sitting at the outside table and the cottage was well placed within the village. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Wonderful cottage in a central location

We had a wonderful stay in this cottage. The location was perfect since it was central to all of our destinations while we were there. We had some trouble with the hot water but we discussed it with the owner. We would stay here again.

Great Highland getaway

A lovely cottage near the centre of the town (you can walk from the station). It has three comfortable bedrooms, plenty of amenities and a fine view from the kitchen over Strathspey to (in April, anyway) snow-covered mountains. Kingussie is a pleasant, friendly town with a strong sense of community. Go to the ‘hub’ to find out what’s going on. Ed, the local photographer with a gallery in the main street, has recommendations for walks. Glen Banchor, just the other side of Newtonmore, is a particularly beautiful one: vast and, apart from the river, silent (and with a place to park at the foot of the glen). I enjoyed haggis and chips at Joe’s. There’s also a comprehensive bookshop with a large section of books on Scotland and a specialist cheese shop. We’ll be back!

Dissertation/Birthday celebration

The house is set up on the hill surrounded by trees. A lovely little hideaway but so close to the town itself. It is also well situated for exploring the Cairngorms, Aviemore etc. Bedrooms were very comfortable, bathrooms well appointed and clean. The kitchen had everything and more we could have asked for to help us enjoy our weekend stay. The living room was so comfortable and the log burner threw out an amazing amount of heat. What a relaxing, comfortable stay. We will be back.
