Character, modernised, bright and airy studio for two in village location.

Set in a village location next to the 12th Century Church & a stone’s throw from St Briavels Castle, the village pub & the community deli/grocery shop is our stylishly converted, stone built, open plan studio for two. There is a king sized bed & blackout blinds for a good nights sleep. The studio is well equipped with a flat screen tv, double settee and small dining table in the main space overlooking the terrace and there is a separate shower room & kitchen area. The studio sits in the corner of a large, well maintained, pretty courtyard garden shared by the owners but the studio has its own private furnished terrace directly in front with bbq. St Briavels is in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, looking down the valley to the River Wye and is on the edge of the vast & beautiful Forest of Dean. An ideal location for walking, cycling, kayaking/canoeing, cycling. Clearwell Caves, Tintern Abbey, Puzzlewood, Go Ape, Yat Rock and many other attractions are close by.

Lovely property, our first visit to the area since 1996. Decent food at the pub and a great area to discover if you can cope with the hills. We had a comfortable stay and learnt how to use an air fryer. Thanks go to our hosts for making us welcome.

Wonderful studio near forest of dean
The studio was very lovely to stay at and located about an hour away from Cardiff. Lots of greenery and nice walks in the area as well. Helen and Neil are very friendly hosts, I would recommend staying here! If we ever get back to this region, we’d probably stay here again!

We loved our short stay at the studio. The studio has everything you need Helen has thought of lots of nice touches such as phone chargers, speaker, maps, shampoo etc. We really appreciated the milk, tea and coffee provided thank you. Absolutely stunning property and garden. So quiet and peaceful, felt like we had a good rest. There isn’t a conventional cooker or oven and the bed was a tad hard for us, but that would not put us off from staying again. It’s a stone throw away from a lovey local pub and shop and many lovely walks. The views around are just stunning. If you are a foodie then Tudor Farmhouse restaurant is a must. Thank you so much for the generous provisions, we had such a lovely wedding anniversary.

Great base to explore the area. The studio is very well presented and has everything you need for a short stay. We appreciated having the option of adding mattress toppers to the bed. We particularly enjoyed relaxing in the garden, so peaceful. Located in a lovely village. We enjoyed a meal and entertainment at the pub. There's a great local shop with a really friendly lady who makes fantastic bacon baps.

Perfect !
Just had a night at this lovely little studio apartment. Absolutely delightful with everything you could possibly want. Lovely underfloor heating. A gorgeous part of the country with lots of lovely walks and a fab local pub. Highly recommended.

A great spot
I came here with my girlfriend for the weekend. Thr studio is a perfect size and has everything you could ask for. Very nice and cosy! The surrounding areas are amazing for walks and also a very good local pub with local ales and great food. Within a few miles of the property there is plenty to do and see. Well worth a visit and will probably come back again next year. Thanks!

A lovely stay at this little cottage. Fab setting in pretty area. Couldn't have asked for more. Beautiful fully equipt property. Had everything you need plus more. My husband, Neil, and I renovated The Cart House and The Studio from derelict buildings in 2010. We loved the location and character of the buildings and walled courtyard. We have spent many happy years living in this beautiful area and are constantly exploring new walks to do in the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.

What makes this property unique

The Studio is located opposite the 12th century church and is a short stroll to St Briavels castle, the village pub and village shop. You have a pretty, well furnished patio in front of the studio overlooking the courtyard garden and water feature where you can relax and enjoy a bbq. We have made every effort to equip the studio with everything you would need for a comfortable and relaxing weekend
