Cabin is in excellent shape, did not have any damage during recent hurricane. Perfect retreat for getting away from busy recovery and rebuilding.

'Cabin Branch' is a log home located in Mt. Mitchell Lands, adjacent to the Mt. Mitchell Golf Course and at the base of Mt. Mitchell. It is across the road from the Toe River. Just down the road from the house is the National Park, with walking trails, and magnificent scenery. The property is just two miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, with access to Asheville, Little Switzerland, Blowing Rock, and other attractions just minutes away.

The cabin sits on a wooded lot overlooking a mountain stream with multiple waterfalls,in season, providing beautiful music and comfort from the 10 foot by 36 foot screened porch. The cabin has a gourmet kitchen with granite counters, stove, microwave, dishwasher and double door refrigerator. There is an eating bar separating the kitchen from the dining room, and a large living/dining great room with rock fireplace. The fireplace has gas logs. Master bedroom is 20 X 16 has private bath and large walk in closet, second bedroom is also large with ample wall of closets and next to second full bath. Each bedroom has a queen bed and is beautifully decorated with complete linens. The kitchen has cooking supplies and utensils. The cabin has a washer and dryer to make a vacation stay as comfortable as possible. Cable TV is also provided in both the great room and the master bedroom, each with DVD player as well. The screened porch also has a fouton for sleeping. There is Wi-Fi in the cabin as well.

Perfect weekend Getaway
First of all, The owner of the property was wonderful. I asked if we could park a vehicle earlier than check in and he responded to me in a timely matter and was very understanding. He also checked in to make sure everything was okay. The cabin was beautiful, very clean and had everything you needed. The screened in porch was our favorite and we eat our supper every evening out on the porch. I can’t wait to book another stay!

Relaxing Cabin
Wonderful log cabin that was well decorated, well stocked with everything you needed and in a very relaxing environment. Ron was a great host, he checked in on us to make sure we were able to get into the cabin. He was accommodating when we requested an early check in. My favorite part of the cabin was the screened in porch with a small stream next to the cabin. Sipping on your coffee and listening to the sound of flowing water was quite serene. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed. The showers had hot water and were clean. My husband enjoyed having a golf course right across the street. Even though it was closed due to damage from hurricane Helene, he was able to hit some golf balls and we took our dog to hike around. There were Canadian geese near the Toe river and he jumped right into the cool water. There’s a waterfall that you can hike to from the cabin. About 20min one way. We enjoyed having a gas fireplace and a huge wooden deck in front where you can sit and eat. We didn’t use the grill in the back porch, but that’s also a nice spot that’s surrounded by nature. We drove to Burnsville which is a nice little town with quaint shops and restaurants. It’s only about 20-30min drive. We drove a little further to Roan mountain. And hiked to a beautiful mountain ridge with awesome views. It was a great stay. Highly recommend this comfy, cozy cabin.

Such a comfy stay…
This was exactly what our family was hoping for. We wanted to disconnect and get good rest, play games, work puzzles, and do some cooking together. Bedrooms were very comfy, especially the main one upstairs. I loved the screened in porch. Wouid highly recommend.

Relaxing stay
Even though there was a winter storm and snowed us in we had a relaxing time. Great place with great beds and sufficient stocking. Hands down one of my favorites. The host is friendly and very accommodating. Checked in on us during the storm.

Magical Cabin
We had a wonderful time staying at this amazing cabin! It was private and quiet, yet convenient to Asheville. The home was comfortable and decorated with care. Brief stay after Helene
We were glad to find a base for a post-Helene errand and opportunity to contribute to the local economy. We’ve seen this house for years and figured it would be intact and an easy location for our plans. It’s decorated with care and lots of good art that reflects the surroundings. If we’d been there longer we’d have really enjoyed the porches. The kitchen is well appointed. I could have used a more cushioned mattress, and softer pillows, but the house was cozy and suited us well.

We love everything about this cabin and have stayed there multiple times. It’s in a great location with easy access. It’s very cozy on the inside with a beautiful fireplace and so relaxing outside on the large porch or deck. Ron is a fantastic host and always makes sure your check-in is ok and that you have everything you need. It’s like home away from home.

Easiest time we have had getting into the stay. The cabin is beautiful. The kitchen was well stocked. There are numerous outside options for eating and relaxing. It was super convenient for us to hike Mt. Mitchell.

Nice but dark
The property itself was very nice and well furnished. However it is a very dark cabin with some lights working and some not. (Or very difficult to figure out what switch is supposed to work which light.). And even then not all were working. We had wanted to play our musical instruments and could not see to play. The kitchen is also very dark. Also, the sheets and blankets were laying on top of the bed and we had to put them on ourselves. I’ve never had to put sheets on at a place where I was paying to stay. They do not supply bar soap or body wash or shampoo either which would be fine IF they told you ahead of time. It’s quite a drive to the store. I emailed the property manager when we first arrived but received no response and so we decided to leave the following day. When I called him to let him know we were leaving he got very argumentative with me. He already had his money so I don’t know what difference it made to him. Also, a word of advice- do not try to get to this cabin from the south. We went from Black Mountain and it is a terrible drive with many hairpin curves.

This was our third time staying here and we will be back
Always enjoy our stay at Cabin Branch. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners. The gas grill wasn't working and they brought a new one out to us. Sadly we had to leave a day early due to a death in our family. We will return next year. Very good location with lots of great hiking and waterfalls near by.

This cabin in the North Carolina mountains was the perfect place to launch our adventures at the many peaks and state parks and streams around.We had a wonderful time.We had our dog with us and she really enjoyed it too.

Beautiful, well equipped cabin
This pleasant 2 BR/2 B cabin is just lovely. The screened porch includes a sofa and space for 4 around a table; perfect for dinner or games while the front and back porches provide a relaxing space to sit and enjoy the babbling brook running right next to the house. The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of silver and dish ware. I would rent this cabin again.
