Traditional fisherman's cottage just yards from the sea
This traditional flint cottage was one of the original Fisherman's Cottages in Sheringham. Having enjoyed holidays on the North Norfolk coast for some years we bought 'Rose Cottage,' having fallen in love with its quirky layout, the light, airy and peaceful feel and most importantly; its wonderful location near to the beach. It is also very conveniently located for the all the amenities that Sheringham has to offer. It is a great place to enjoy the local ice-cream parlours or our favourite; eating Fish and Chips on the beautiful beach.

Quirky, property, which was well equipped and clean.
Old so don’t expect modern lines, however we liked that.
Needed an information sheet for whereabouts of keys, wi-fi etc.
No separate shower.
Having said that it’s a real cosy ( comfy bed ) quaint cottage near the sea and town centre. Also very quiet street. Loved it.
We loved our short stay here. Richard is a great host and we loved this cottage with its different levels. Kitchen is well equipped and bathroom is large - although low ceiling over the bath makes showering tricky. Large bed is really comfy and if you have small children the bunk bed room is conveniently off the main room. My boys slept well in the other room with the two single beds. The cottage is in a fantastic location - really quiet yet moments from the sea and the town. Only slight downside is the outside now needs a repaint to make it like the photos but it’s not a big deal and not an issue for us (it’s inevitable it will become weathered when the sea is so close). All in all a great stay and we hope to come back.
Lovely cottage. Little garden is a sun trap. Beds super comfy. Large lounge with decent tv, Netflix etc. Well equipped kitchen. Huge master bedroom and nice big bathroom. All lovely and clean. So close to the beach and town. Really enjoyed our stay.

Near sea good
Kitchen well appointed, stairway missing banister harzard for elderly, garden overgrown, darkening sitting room.
Need for parking for offloading, we parked on path,/road outside front door and got shouted at.Parking rest of time difficult nearby.
Sherringham cottage very close to the sea and shops.
Sherringham is a lovely Victorian Village, with all that most people would need within a short walk of the cottage. A mobility centre next to Tesco in the high-street hire out mobility scooters for around £75 for Monday-Friday.
The property could do with a lick of paint inside, and garden was a bit neglected, but it was end of the Summer season. The bannisters were also a bit iffy with stairs not ideal if your physical mobility is not great.
I did like that flowers were put on with some niceties to eat and drink. No BBQ and bins outside were filled to the brim when we arrived. Property does have a fridge with freezer-box.
Owner very helpful and replied quickly to all requests. Such a beautiful part of England. Would happily visit again.
Perfect location, one minute to the seafront, couple of minutes to the main street in town!!
Lovely little cottage, low doorways to get used to but plenty of space for family of six…third bedroom is through the main one. Plenty of places to eat out, close to shops, paddle boarding in the sea, two golf putting courses, steam train to Holt (where we found air rifles and archery for teenage boys!)….everything just a short walk away. Beautiful coastal walks both ways. Didn’t use the car all week and didn’t want to, found parking up the hill on the first evening.
Beautiful stay in lovely part of the country!
The cottage was a wonderful place to spend a week and Sheringham was great for walks, swims in the sea, steam trains, pubs, ice creams and family dinners.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good break by the sea.
Rose Cottage is a little gem. The cottage was clean, well equipped and perfect for our birthday weekend. We loved the location and enjoyed every minute.
Quaint cottage, loads of character. Fabulous location
Really enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage in Sheringham. Location can’t be beaten - few steps from beach and town centre.
Cottage has loads of character. A little challenging if you are tall as roof height low, especially when having a shower. However all part of the charm of the cottage.
Loved it!
The location of Rose Cottage is excellent for families. A short walk to the town and an even shorter walk to the beach. This made it easy for activities on the sea front for young children, without having to pack up loads of stuff for the day, and walking back to the cottage for a rest for grandparents! The quirky cottage has everything needed for a holiday with small children.
Ideally located close to the town and more importantly for our 2 year old grandson - close to the beach. Be careful if you are tall as some of the upstairs rooms have low parts to the ceiling but that in no way detracts from a delightful character cottage which we thoroughly enjoyed over the Coronation weekend.
We spent a lovely Easter break here - the location is fabulous, it manages to be smack bang in the centre of town yet well tucked away! Very close to the beach and a brilliant location for easy days out or walks along the North Norfolk Coastal Path.
The property was cute and quirky. It was very well stocked - ice in freezer compartment, lots of kitchen equipment (helpful as we cooked Christmas lunch), a few Christmas decorations. The location was perfect, just a very short walk to the beach. The host even allowed us a late checkout, which was appreciated. Would definitely return.

Four-day stay
We all enjoyed our stay. Cottage and location perfect. Had to hunt for keybox. It was dark when we arrived so it was eventually located at the back door! Apart from that the whole stay was good, with the cottage being warm and comfortable. Access to shops was handy too. Thank you.
We always rent private accommodation for short breaks, and have always picked lovely properties, including this one, it was spacious, comfortable, clean, and within a nice area in the centre of Sheringham, but also very quiet, particularly in the evening and at night.
We had a lovely week at Rose Cottage. The cottage itself is in a brilliant location, just yards from the sea and the town centre, with a long-stay car park a few hundred metres away. Whilst well equipped, we did find some of the facilities to be very old and in need of an upgrade (the washing machine sounds like it's on its last legs and very noisy, and the iron didn't work). That said, the accommodation is lovely and quaint, with all the higgledy piggledy features you'd expect from a fisherman's cottage!
We had the most amazing time staying here. The cottage is literally a stones throw (or should that be a crab’s shell?) from the beach.
We’d love to come back next year!
