About this property

Detached 3-bed, 3 bath Barn In Burland, Nantwich, Family Friendly, Pets Welcome

A country haven and retreat with friends and family. We welcome your dogs too and have an enclosed garden and a large 8 acre field for running off energy! Recently fully renovated, but dating back to the late 1800s, Pinfold Barn offers great features such as round windows and exposed beams whilst being up to modern spec. Great for a family holiday, or a get together with friends and family. You’ll find all home comforts including a fully fitted and equipped farmhouse Oak kitchen, a large lounge with Oak floors, over-sized comfy sofas, flat screen TV, DVD, bluetooth Boombox and fast WiFi. Downstairs there’s a spacious hall, shower room and utility room with fridge / Freezer, washing machine, dryer and boot sink. Upstairs are 3 large bedrooms; the principle room having open vaulted ceiling, exposed beams and stunning 4 poster King size bed with John Lewis Vi spring mattress and en-suite bathroom! There’s another King bedroom and a quirky twin room with round window and skylight. In total there are 3 fitted bathrooms including a large indulgent tub with claw and ball feet in the spacious family bathroom. There’s a range of books and family games, including a Wii gaming system with over 30 games to keep you occupied. The patio has tables, chairs, sunshade, loungers and a BBQ for the outdoors cooks. If the home comforts aren’t enough to keep you at the Barn there’s a lot to do in the locality; For the foodies, the local historic market town of Nantwich has some great coffee shops, delis and eateries. Theres a monthly farmers market and a great weekly market. Nantwich is a haven for foodies and was recently rated one of the best 20 towns in the Telegraph foodies ratings! There’s some fabulous pubs famed for their award winning food. We are close to The Cholmondeley Arms, The Fox and Barrel and The Dysart Arms to name only a handful! The Cholmondeley Arms, is a converted school with a reputation for its range of gins. A historic watering spot for Clarissa Dickson Wright. The local Co-op in Bunbury offers a wide range of essentials and local produce. Our village of Burland retains its farming heritage and today its mostly organic farms with fantastic local produce, so there’s plenty of fresh produce direct from our farms if you want to cook. For the shoppers, Nantwich has a range of individually owned boutiques and antique shops – head down Hospital Street for a great browse. The Georgian village of Tarporley is 10 minutes away with fabulous shops (as well as distinctive pubs and wine bars including for example "The Swan" (headquarters of the "Cheshire Hunt") We’re close to the Potteries Outlet and the famous Cheshire Oaks Outlets. Or head to Chester – 20 minutes away. If you like swimming don't forget to visit the local outdoor brine pool (booking required) with loungers at the side - make it a day out.
If you like the outdoor life we’ve got a bundle of fantastic walks on the doorstep. Walk out of the front door and join the public footpath across the countryside, take a trip to Beeston Castle and walk up through the ramparts to the old castle, call in at Peckforton Castle for a fabulous Bistro lunch and a look at the birds of prey or even book into their Landrover driving experience or their Crazy golf course. There’s an 8 acre field for the kids to play in at the back, and with plenty of country wildlife, a garden full of birds, bees and butterflies and the occasional bat fly pasts (if you’re quiet at dusk).

Lovely New Year Break
We are a family of four who stayed in this beautiful property for New Year. The accommodation was perfect for our needs and as described. It was very comfortable and a true home from home. We had everything we needed for our stay and more. The games provided were great fun and the bedrooms were all very comfortable. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming and provided extensive information concerning the local area and places to eat/drink. Overall we had a lovely stay, which lived up to expectation and we would thoroughly recommend the property.

Gateway to North UK
Despite original plan for family of 5 during stay, my wife and I greatly appreciated this property. We were visiting Nantwich for a wedding, seeing parts of England (Nantwich area, Wales, and a quick stop at Windermere), This property is centrally located, and well kept. Alison did a great job of preparing us, and answering all questions asked. Property is well equipped for a family, with 3 BR, full kitchen, W/D. Much appreciated. Thank you!

Perfect week away
Pinfold Barn was a gorgeous place. Great base for exploring the area. We visited North Wales and Liverpool mainly. Managed a visit to the local secret nuclear bunker in Nantwich which I highly recommend. We left feeling that there was much more to do. Ali was a great host. She answered any questions we had straight away and gave us advice on travelling the area. I cannot fault the barn. It was well equipped and comfortable. There was a lot of space for myself, a pensioner and two teens!

Amazing family holiday
6 of us stayed for a week in October. We went with my parents and our two boys aged 5 & 3. There was plenty of space for the boys to play indoors, lots of books and games, mountains of dvds and a wii. It was an excellent base to visit the local area. We took trips to Liverpool, taking the obligatory and Chester as well as popping into Nantwich to enjoy the local foodie delights. Alison was a wonderful host, plenty of information provided prior to arrival, excellent directions and instructions for checking in, even a list of local taxi firms. She popped over to check that everything was OK when we arrived and we had everything we needed and was on hand when we had a little mishap. The barn was really a home from home with everything you need. Cosy, comfy lounge, fully kitted out kitchen, lovely furnishings and decor throughout. We highly recommend staying here!

Lovely break with friends
We stayed at Pinfold barn for the weekend whilst visiting the area for a friends’ wedding at Peckforton Castle. The barn was in a perfect location in the countryside but easy driving distance to amenities. The wedding changed dates due to covid but Ali very kindly switched the dates of our booking without any hassle at all. The kitchen was fully equipped which meant we could easily cook meals. 3 bathrooms also made getting ready for the wedding super simple. We used the book in the barn on the Sandstone trail to find a good circular walking route around Beeston Castle with a pub stop for lunch to help with the hangover post wedding. The barn was plenty big enough for 6 adults and we spent most of our time in the barn sat around the kitchen table eating and drinking. Would definitely recommend. Thanks Ali!

Nice house, noisy main road
The barn is lovely inside, really comfortable. However, the proximity to, and noise from the main road, was unexpected and did affect our overall enjoyment of our stay. The bikes were also unavailable which we were looking forward to using and we were unable to get the DVD player to work :-( ....

Beautifully renovated barn in relaxing setting.
This was the perfect place to stay in order to explore Chester, Chester Zoo and all the surrounding villages and castles. It was perfect after a busy day to return to the barn and relax and enjoy the garden and the views of the countryside. We thought it was very well equipped especially for children and the owner Alison went out of her way to be helpful and make us all feel welcome. We had a great holiday and hope to return soon!

Peaceful retreat
We had a very busy time while staying at the Barn and it was lovely to come home to for our family of five adults. Having three bathrooms was great, all with a shower or tub! It was especially nice to sit around the big country kitchen table and eat our meals with the French doors open on the warm evenings. This was a convenient location for going to the Welsh coast, up to Liverpool and beyond and we liked the town of Nantwich, there were lots of shops, cafes and restaurants to check out. The Nag's Head, just down the road a couple of miles, was a very good local pub.

Lovely, very comfortable and spacious
We went as a grown-up family and really appreciated the quality of the space, the downstairs layout and all the kitchen equipment and entertainment options. Upstairs was good - a bit awkward for the third couple given the twin - but Alison gave us extra mattresses and we knew that upfront. Having three bathrooms was a definite plus. Overall a great holiday base and one that's a fairly close walk to a good pub and an easy drive to lots of pleasant small towns and the Peak District should you want to go further afield.

Amazing get away from the hustle and bustle of manchester
We had an lovely stay at the barn, my 3 children loved the amount of children's toys/dvds provided. The owner took us to see the organic milking farm opposite and she took the time out to talk us through all the local attractions and restaurants. We will definitely be visiting again, there's so much to do and see.

Very comfortable stay and nearby Nantwich is a great place to shop and eat out
Very comfortable stay, the beds are exceptionally comfortable. Nearby Nantwich is a great place to shop and eat out with lovely independent shops and plenty of places to eat out that offer Gluten free / Coeliac menu's The 3 bathrooms were very useful for a family of 5 The place is easy to find with the postcode provided and the back garden is not overlooked with the trees, which made it feel secluded. All appliances worked well and kitchen equipment was adequate, although a couple of the small cooking utensils could do with being renewed. Overall the place was clean. The wifi was useful, however the kids complained it was a little slow and connection could take a while, we understand that the Barn is rural and this is to be expected. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend others and would also be happy to stay again if we were going to stay in Cheshire again

A gorgeous cottage that is impressive stocked and in a lovely location in rural cheshire
We had a lovely stay at Pinfold Barn. It was perfect for us, our two kids and my in laws. The decoration is lovely and it has everything you will need. Best range of kitchen utensils, plates etc. that i've come across in a self catering cottage and all the other little bits like tea towels and cleaning stuff too. There's a fab roll top bath and all the bedrooms are a good size and clean and cosy. The kids loved kicking a ball about in the garden and making a racket on the drum kit in the play garage! Lots of fab stuff to do locally too, we had a great day out at Chester Zoo and enjoyed visiting the Ice Cream Farm. Local pubs are good too especially the Cholmondeley Arms - great place! Nice and easy to get to Sainsburys to stock up too :)

A beautiful home in the country.
Our family (including three teenagers) very much enjoyed our stay at this beautiful, spacious home. All the comforts of home were here, and we made good use of the kitchen for breakfasts and dinner. My wife and daughter each enjoyed relaxing baths in the clawfoot tub. We would love to be able to return and stay here again one day and highly recommend this property. Ron Vancouver, Canada

About the host

We live on Pinfold Farm in the beautiful rural village of Burland and have converted our Barn as a luxury holiday home from home. We have lived here for 23 years and hope you will enjoy your stay in the countryside. We are on hand to help with anything should you need it however the barn is detached and private with fencing between the properties. Happy to help with planning your holiday so that you have the best time possible.

Why they chose this property

It's out in the countryside but not far from town for all your shopping. Nantwich is a historical market town with plenty of old buildings and private shops with regular markets. There's lot of farm shops for great food and brilliant old pubs with roaring fires and quirky interiors. We're a short drive from Wales for the beaches. A great location for a holiday with lots of potential for action packed days or a real quiet retreat.

What makes this property unique

Our visitors tell us that they have loved their stay. You'll get your own private holiday home with a private garden and patio. There's loads of details included which we've added over the years when guests tell us what they think will improve the facilities. For example wedding groups have said it'd be good to have a champagne bucket and flutes - now part of the amenities! We are close to lots of great days out but equally, staying and chilling out is what some of our guests wanted. Off the beaten track but with all the convenience of modern living.
