About this property
Oceanfront 1BR/1BA w/ X-Large Oceanfront Balcony
The Four Sails is ideally located at the exclusive north end of the oceanfront with unlimited recreational possibilities. A vacation destination surrounded by spectacular scenery, the Four Sails offers you a relaxing atmosphere in one of the best resort cities in the country.
In September the water and ocean temperatures are still almost perfect. This week corresponds with the Neptune Festival, usually held every September in Virginia Beach, and one of the highlights of the year. Please note the Neptune Festival was cancelled in 2020, and it is still not confirmed this event will take place in 2021, so TBD on that.
THE SPACE
This unit has a King sized bed in the Master bedroom with a large garden tub that almost looks like a mini Jacuzzi. There is a Full kitchen that includes a Stove, Oven, Microwave, Dishwasher, full size Refrigerator, and Coffee Maker. The Living Room includes a pull out Queen size sleeper sofa.
You have access to your own private direct oceanfront balcony. This balcony is very large (one of the largest on the Virginia Beach boardwalk) and can be accessed from the living room, and also accessed from the Master Bedroom. Enjoy the spectacular views from your balcony while drinking your coffee in the morning or enjoying a beverage of choice in the evening.
The location of Four Sails Resort is on the north end of the boardwalk, and near many of the better restaurants and outdoor lounging areas. Katie's 33rd Street Café is also conveniently located on this property, and offers good food and casual dining at reasonable prices. Prepare your own meals in your fully equipped Kitchen, or order something from the Café downstairs to bring up, and enjoy a meal on your balcony.
Four Sails is an older building but well maintained with suites that are updated, clean, well-stocked and offers daily trash and towels pickup.
You can walk or ride your bike on the 3 mile boardwalk (this resort provides bikes to guests for free). Ocean Breeze Water Park is only 10 minutes away. Or Virginia Beach offers a convenient location from which to schedule day trips to tour nearby Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown, Jamestown, or visit Busch Gardens / Water Country.
GUEST ACCESS
Your unit is private, but since this is a resort hotel property, amenities will be shared with other guests (Pool, Gym, Sauna, Roof Deck, etc)
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
- Primary Guest checking in must be at least 21 years of age with a valid ID and credit card for security deposit. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions to this minimum age requirement for the primary Guest who will be checking in. Your security deposit will be returned to you after Check Out if you have not made any charges to your room.
- Four Sails is professionally managed and operated. The Front Desk is staffed 24/7 for Check-In, Check-Out, and is available for any questions, issues, or need for assistance. They are there to help so please don’t hesitate to contact them during your stay.
- One Free parking space is provided per unit rental. Additional parking spots are available for an additional fee paid directly at the Front Desk. If you have a large SUV, the turns in the parking garage can be a little tight, however they can be successfully managed.
- Bedding linens, blankets, pillows are provided, as are bath towels. If you need additional items or want fresh bedding linens or towels during your stay, please contact the Front Desk. Although bedding linens, blankets, and pillows are provided, you may want to bring some of your own if you have a favorite pillow or blanket.
- If you plan on using the Sleeper sofa during your stay, I do personally recommend (if possible) bringing sheets, blankets, pillows, maybe even a mattress pad for the Sleeper sofa specifically, which can be turned into a very comfortable extra bed.
- Pool towels are provided for free, and they can be exchanged for fresh ones on an unlimited basis. However, if you or your family owns and likes larger beach towels, I recommend bringing them, along with any other beach blankets / chairs / umbrellas / equipment you want at the beach. If you don’t bring your own beach chairs, umbrellas, equipment, etc you can rent them on the beach out in front of the facility.
- Paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, soaps, shampoos, etc are all provided. If you need more during your stay you can contact the Front Desk and they can provide them. We have never personally had an issue receiving the supplies we needed. There are also grocery stores conveniently located within a few minutes from the facility if you want to shop for any groceries or personal items you want during your stay.
- Housekeeping will come by daily to replace towels and collect trash.
- There is a coin operated Laundry room located on the 2nd floor.
- Ice machines are available on every other floor
- The resort offers free bikes for use. This offers good value as this could save you over $100 in normal bike rental fees during your week. Bike usage can be scheduled with the Front Desk.
- The resort also has some leftover beach chairs and umbrellas available for use by guests, however this is based on first come, first serve basis. But if you forget to bring something on your trip you need for the beach, ask the Front Desk since they might have what you are missing.
- If you or any members of your family enjoy bike riding, I strongly recommend taking your own bikes (if you have the means to do so). Virginia Beach was designed with a special bike path along the Boardwalk to cater to bike riders. It's possible to use bikes as your main means of transportation during the week to travel up and down the Boardwalk, and around town. Remember to take your bike locks so you can lock up your bikes at the bike rack each night.
- There is a Virginia Beach Coupon booklet available pretty much everywhere in vending type machines along Atlantic Ave, including the Front Desk / Lobby at pretty much all the properties in VB. In this booklet you can find some coupons that offer decent discounts on food, entertainment, and equipment purchases (like bike rentals if you are not able to bring your own).
- Once reservations are confirmed, you will be asked for the name and address of the main guest who will check in (the resort's Front Desk will also ask for this information when you check in, but obtaining this information beforehand will expedite the check in process) along with an email address to receive a personal confirmation.
THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The Virginia Beach Boardwalk and surrounding area is unique among East Coast beach locations because it has many Oceanfront, Oceanside, Marina, and Bay dining choices, including many with outdoor seating. There is also live music venues all along the boardwalk in the evenings.
GETTING AROUND
If you like to ride bikes, you can park your car and almost not need it for the week as it is easy to travel the boardwalk on your bike. If you don't bring your own there are bike rental stations up and down the boardwalk, including one near Four Sails.
There is a Virginia Beach trolley that runs up and down Atlantic Boulevard from 40th street down to the Marina below 5th street. This is also an effective way to travel up and down Atlantic Boulevard not needing a car.
ADDITIONAL 2021 COVID-19 STIPULATIONS:
- This listing mentions the Virginia Beach Neptune Festival. Please note that it still remains to be seen if the Neptune Festival will be cancelled for September 2021. The Neptune Festival was cancelled in 2020 due to the COV-19 pandemic.
