We went 4 of us from Canada to attend a Christening in Milford and stayed at this Vrbo in Slaughter Beach. What a quaint and quiet place and we were close to everything! We stayed in unit C and it was large enough for the 4 of us and the air conditioning worked great! The unit is decorated nicely and contained everything we needed. Wifi signal strength was a bit weak in unit C but it didn't bother us. Bed in bedroom was comfy but mattress in sofa bed needs replacing. Other than that we had a great time and I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking to stay in the Milford area.
Abby was absolutely awesome to work with prior to check in!!! I had a BIG mistake due to being so tired. I mixed up the house numbers BUT at 3:30am (we were driving from a concert in Virginia) Jessica returned my phone call from the emergency number and politely told me how wrong I was. Haha. She also was so kind! The apartment was so cute and so clean! It is behind a house but only a few steps away from the beach. We did not have service nor did the wifi work but we were just happy to be there and relax. The beach was not a typical beach to lay out on but was perfect for us to sit in our outdoor chairs have a few drinks and enjoy the peace and quiet! I would highly recommend this location and working with the rental agency! We will be back next year but this time for a week with our fur babies!!!

Our beach front was blocked, by another unit; no view of the water.
The unit was very clean and had what was needed. However the internet only could be used in the dining area. We didn't realize we had to bring linens, towels, blankets, all soaps, including kitchen and bathroom, hair dryer until we received our contract. The linens were waived; Never had we needed to bring those items in prior rentals. We couldn't figure out the TV, but Abby immediately had the housekeeper check in. We didn't realize that Wilmington was so far away (our fault); the beach did not appear swimmable and we didn't bring swim shoes which were needed because the beach is stony.
We enjoyed a long weekend as we attended the Lewes Historical Society 2 day craft show as a vendor. The apartment was very clean, very quiet and perfect to rest and relax. We walked along the beach. Bring the bug spray as it's summer and it's normal for bugs to be out and about on the beach. The rocks and beach glass were great to collect. We will book again and look into staying in one of the units on the beach. We had great neighbors! Due remember each unit only gets 1 parking space. If you bring 2 cars you will need to follow the directions that property management send prior to your stay. We only had one car and the other units as well this stay. Also, if you have a larger car/van or trailer you will need to park down the road which is NO big deal. Just read the instructions you receive prior to your stay. We will be back!!!
We enjoyed the sunny and bright space, and everything was clean and well maintained. Everything except the bed, that is. What was listed as a queen size was definitely not - my husband’s feet hung over the end. And the mattress had completely collapsed in the center so we both ended up smashed together in the well in the middle. Also, for some reason the bed frame is on wheels so every time either of us sat down on it the bed it rolled across the floor.
The sofas in the living area were uncomfortable so really there was no where to fully relax.
But Abby was very helpful and friendly. Thank you, Abby!

No Working WiFi and a Fire Alarm that randomly went on/off throughout the night
Contrary to what the listing said, there was no working wifi in the unit which was a nightmare as I had a full day of work/zoom calls planned and I had to scramble to find a place off property to do the full day of work I had planned to do from the unit.
I spoke with 2 different people from the property management company, and each one gave me different wifi credentials, neither of which worked.
To make matters worse, there was a smoke alarm that went off randomly for 2 minutes at a time typically between the hours of 11pm - 1am, even though we weren't cooking and there was no smoke.
I brought up the wifi issue to the property management company expecting some sort of partial refund for the significant inconvenience and the inaccurate listing, and they went radio silent.
The overall stay was a big disappointment.

Never again
View is the back of a house and the road Parking spots right under bedroom and living room windows .So doors slamming all hours Can only fit smaller vehicles Have to call town to get permission to park up the street .The bed and pull out sofa we not fit to sleep on Both need mattresses Absolutely horrendous to sleep on !The 2 sofa were very uncomfortable to sit on Definitely needs replacing ! low ceiling in dining room so ended up bust head on a beam The range hood is so low you have to bend over to even See the knobs Pans are very very old Need replaced The sunroom down stairs was filthy and if your over 6” you can barely stand up the ceiling is so low To hot and no way to circulate the air Washer and dryer nice but the laundry room had a huge hole in the floor and weeds growing thru the door The beach had a lot to be desired fishing was great It’s dog friendly and the other tenants had their dogs running loose so I wouldn’t recommend taking childen The picture are very deceiving I would definitely not ever rent again
We absolutely loved our stay in Slaughter Beach. This little attic apartment had plenty of room to relax, cook, and play board games, even with the shorter ceiling height. The place has been updated and cleaned to address previous reviews’ issues and we were excited to find the kitchen had more utensils and gadgets than we expected. The futon and chair-bed are not the best sleeping option, so bring an air mattress back-up if you have it. Despite the inability to see the beach from the place, you are just steps away from the ocean and you can hear it too! This beach isn’t crowded at all by humans - it’s all residential, but in May it is crowded by horseshoe crabs. Witnessing their spawning was incredible and we learned to "just flip over" the stranded crabs that had been flipped on their backs. I wouldn’t call this a swimming beach, but it was perfect for walks with our dogs. We checked out Prime Hook National Wildlife refuge (keep an eye out for the Indigo buntings but also the nefarious ticks) as well as biked the greenway trails starting in Cape Henlopen National Park (keep biking past the trail to see the Rehoboth boardwalk). The Parking and laundry are super convenient. Come prepared with food or the understanding that you’ll need to travel 15-20 mins by car to get provisions. We fell in love with the downtown of Lewes nearby, highly recommend the chai lattes at the bakery and checking out the used book store/underground record store. We have been made fans of the beach with the terrifying name and hope we can visit again soon.
This is was our first VRBO rental experience and it went without a hitch. Property management is attentive and responsive. The beach is private and precious. Virtually no traffic on Bay Avenue as it ai a dead-end road. We will be back and this will be our first choice if available.
We all loved staying in this little apartment at the back of the property. It was clean, nicely ste up with a small yard for our dog and amazing access to the beach. We bought and left a large pot and colander for making pasta, which is a must when traveling with small kids but, really, everything else we needed was right there. We would absolutely book again.
We had a great time staying here. We brought our dog and the location could not have been more perfect. We were steps away from Slaughter beach and stayed on a very quiet street. We enjoyed paddleboarding on the bay and our dog enjoyed exploring the beach. The neighbors were friendly and quiet. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
The property was very clean and stocked with everything that we needed. It has beauitful high ceilings with so much natural light! I had thought it was a house that had multiple apartments in it. It turned out that it was just the one unit with a shared sun porch and laundry room below us, that we shared with another house. Which was great! We stayed one week and only had one issue with the wifi that lasted temporarily.
The proximity to other beaches on the ocean side was a quick and easy drive.
I would definitely recommend this property and would love to come back!
The apartment was very nice. The weather didn't cooperate, and it was incredibly hot, with wind from the west. That means lots of bugs. The green flies were awful. The beach was covered in debris. We left early due to the weather conditions.
The apartment is equipped with everything needed for a relaxing stay. Very close to the bay and Milford, Delaware. The neighborhood is very quiet and fosters an easy, slower pace. Walking to the beach and west brings one to the reserve, no houses, just nature and the bay. We walked every day and just relaxed. Visited Milford to take in the restaurants and theater. Again, exactly what the doctor ordered. In the future, we would do only one thing differently - stay longer than 9 days! Thank you!
When we walked in the first thing we noticed was how clean this unit was compared to some places we've stayed before. This upstairs unit had enough room for the four of us but was a bit tight as it was four adults. The kitchen had sufficient supplies for the cooking we did on our stay. This is a very quiet area with no traffic. It was just a short walk around the front building to the bay/beach. The bay was dirty when we were there but at low tide there were many really nice shells to be found as the bay was quite shallow. At high tide it was amazing to see the horseshoe crabs by the hundreds coming ashore as it was their mating season. A short drive to Lewes we found a very nice beach where the water was much clearer. Bethany and Rehoboth beaches are about 35 minutes away if you want to be in the ocean waves, surf, shop or go out to eat.
The space was clean and comfortable and stocked with everything we needed for a short trip. Our dog loved it too, and we really enjoyed walking with him on the cute beach right outside. The only issue we had was with with the neighbors two houses down. Within 30 seconds of arriving they were screaming threats to call the police and dogcatcher because our dog was not on a leash the second we let him out of the car. We tried to apologize and explain we had just arrived but they continued on their rant, and we also received emails from the rental service that they were making calls trying to get our dog taken to the pound. Just avoid the Karens a couple houses down and you’ll be fine.
The house was clean and beautiful the only bad thing I have to say is the couches were uncomfortable and the daybed was impossible to sleep on. I would also bring a large pan. The beach was beautiful and would definitely go back.
Place was extremely clean when we arrived, key was in lock box as instructions stated, property management is very responsive to any issues. The beach is nice to hang out on, let your dogs take a dip but we didn't swim in it went to other local beaches. One thing I was discouraged about was the fact there's a picture of people having a fire on the beach and as soon as you arrive there's instructions and one of the main ones was NO FIRES ON BEACH so don't bring firewood lime we did. Overall the place was clean cozy and nice
