Fantastic cottage in South Lanarkshire
Lovely cottage, tucked amongst the trees providing a peaceful and secluded stay. Cottage has everything you need and more, wood burner was great and logs provided. Fiona was lovely and helpful pointing out out local places of interest like Biggar and Peebles but cottage is well located for the larger cities if that’s what you’re looking for. Thanks for having us.

Symington Cottage
This cottage was lovely and peaceful. It had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable which made a nice change! We would get the bus into Biggar for dinner in the evenings which was perfect as only 10 mins away. Using the car in the day was also easy to get to Lanark or Biggar where parking is free. I grew up in Lanark so loved seeing Tinto where I would climb many a time as a child. (Perfect for any hikers.) I highly recommend this cottage and would definitely stay again.

Place you want keep secret.
Lovely house nestled in a large wooded garden. Sufficiently tucked away to be secluded but with easy access to the surrounding border country. Provided with all the needs of modern living and to a high standard. Host who lives next door, very friendly and welcoming.

Fantastic cottage
Had a fantastic time at Birkwood Cottage. It may have rained but that didn't stop us visiting Glasgow (try out the subway from the park and ride), Edinburgh (family), New Lanark, The Carmichael Farm Shop and Bistro and ate in many excellent local restaurants and cafes. Loved coming back to the cottage to relax and enjoy an excellent sleep as well as walking in the grounds.

Lovely Country Get Away
Stayed here for 3 nights and had a lovely time. The cottage was spotless, with everything you need and more, also the choice of furnishings was very nice. Enormous fenced in wooded gardens which were great for our black lab Jack. Hosts Fiona and Scott couldn't have been nicer and always on hand if you needed anything. Would Definitely recommend.

A lovely warm cottage with great comfortable beds. Underfloor heating very welcome. Brilliant.
We were staying here as a gap from one house to another and has been a very nice cosy house to be in, There is lots of car parking space which suited our needs too. The cottage is surrounded by woods which our 2 maniac dogs loved, there is also a hidden swing in the woods. We would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone. The owners couldn't do enough for us and a lovely couple too.

Symington Cottage Review
The owner made a special effort to meet us and provide recommendations for local amenities. She also allowed us access to the cottage as soon as we arrived. The cottage was very comfortable and cozy and convenient to Biggar and Symington while still being very private. There was plenty of room for 4 adults and the kitchen had all mod cons. Great property for our needs!

Beautiful, private Scottish cottage
This cottage was a dream come true-to stay in a lovely, secluded cottage with many Scottish sights nearby. Our host Fiona made us feel at home and even let us visit with her Westie puppy Bonnie! We are Westie lovers, were missing our dogs and Bonnie helped to soothe those feelings. Everything we needed was already in the cottage: fire ready to start and our first night was cool enough for one, and a well-equipped kitchen and lovely bedrooms and baths. The only thing we wish was to stay longer! We will be back!

Warm friendly welcome at Birkwood Cottage
We and our two dogs were well accommodated in Birkwood Cottage, which is amply equipped, clean, warm and comfortable with plenty of space. Beautifully situated and minutes away from Biggar. We stayed during the autumn but hope to return next summer. We did mention to Fiona that there was nowhere to hang our outdoor clothes but I'm sure this will be rectified. Maybe a few brochures featuring local attractions, books and games would also be a benefit. Will certainly recommend the cottage.

An excellent stay near Biggar
This is an amazing find near the town of Biggar, which was a 5-10 minutes drive away and has all the facilities nearby such as restaurants, pubs and a supermarket. The property is spacious with plenty of room for 6 adults. It was in excellent decorative order with all the modern amenities. The garden was beautiful and we had a pack of deer visiting us during our stay. From the living room, there are views of a beautiful lake. We loved the fireplace in the living room which provided plenty of warmth for cosy evening drinks, and our hosts had left us plenty of logs to be used. The property is closeby to both Glasgow and Edinburgh. We explored Edinburgh, Loch Lomond and on the final day of our stay explored Biggar and New Lanark which is a world heritage village, again within a very short drive. I highly recommend this property and would be my first choice when visiting Edinburgh or Glasgow again in the future. Thanks, Fiona and Scott for your hospitality.

Lovely cozy cottage
What a lovely cottage! It was clean as could be and the wonderful host, Fiona, had left some provisions (tea, milk, bread and butter, etc) for the next morning to make us more comfortable. The heating worked perfectly and we enjoyed several nights with a log fire. The beds were very comfortable. Fiona offered several suggestions for places to see and we took her advice and went to The Crown Inn in Biggar for our anniversary dinner. It was beyond excellent! This was the absolute perfect place to use as our home away from home on vacation. Thank you, Fiona.

Fantastic mini break
We all had a fabulous time at the cottage from the moment we arrived and was greeted by Fiona who introduced herself to us and reassured us that we had enough provisions to get us through until the next day due to us arriving late. The cottage was like home from home, the dogs were so excited and loved the space to roam around and play ball. The roaring fire in the evening was fantastic and we were reassured that logs were in abundance and to use as many as we needed. Everything was there at your fingertips . Would definitely stay again.
