Everything about the cottage was just right. Roomy enough for two, clean and everything you need. Perfect place to explore Weymouth, Swanage and surrounding area. Would highly recommend.
Win Place was perfect for our two nights short break. Everything we needed. Very comfortable beds and sofas. Welcome tray much appreciated. Good location. Sharon was the perfect host. Would recommend to all.
The cottage was spacious with very comfy beds. It's got everything you need to enjoy your stay. It's a great location with Durdle Door very close by. I would definitely recommend this cottage and we will be returning. Great welcome pack too which was a bonus - thank you Sharon

Disliked: Listing accuracy
Disappointing accommodation
The cottage was dowdy with walls and ceilings painted with a dark magnolia colour and the windows are quite small, so light was at a premium , we had to have lighting on during the day. The bed was a tiny “ double “ bed which was rock hard and very uncomfortable also the two small 2 seater chairs in the living room area were also uncomfortable. We understood that there would be enough logs for a fire for at least an evening, but all that was left was 6 small logs that only lasted half the one evening.
We were disappointed at the request that we clean the property before leaving because a cleaning fee had not been included in the original price, if we go to a hotel or any other accommodation we are not expected to clean it for the next client. Saying that , we left the premises as we found it - clean.
We have to thank the owners who kindly lent us dog bowls and adaptor to charge our phone . But the whole experience didn’t meet our expectations when consider the high price.
Garden was smaller than expected as in pictures shows Grass which has been changed to car parking for owners so also used adjoining cottages Garden area. Very quiet location with great walks and large park close by. Village shop just around the corner. Only downside was being told on Sunday night the builders were coming the next morning after 8.30 and turned up at 7.30 felt we could have been given this information before we arrived, advised owners not happy with situation and the builder went on holiday next day so was ok but ruined the Day for us. Otherwise a lovely little cottage.
The cottage was very well equipped and ideally situated for exploring all Dorset has to offer but in a very quiet location.. There’s a pub and village shop in the village and lots of walks.
There is Wi-Fi and also Netflix for any wet days.
We enjoyed a lovely week - despite the storms! Accommodation was spotless and warm and the bedroom comfortable and cosy . Lots of lovely places to visit both on foot and in the car - thoroughly recommend !
This was a very cosy cottage with a good size bedroom. Ideal for two people and also plenty of room for our three dogs. Kitchen was well equipped, which was ideal as we do like to cook sometimes. Great location for making the most of what the area has to offer. Walks direct from the door. If you enjoy a good walk, then West Lulworth is walkable from the village. Lots of dog friendly pubs in the area.
Really clean and well equipped.
Everything we needed for a lovely weekend away with our dogs.
Lots of great walks and blessed with amazing sunny bright autumn days.
We stayed at Winplace for a couple of nights mid week. Sharon was a fantastic host and answered any questions we had straight away. The property itself is very homely with a great little cottage feel to it. The wood burner in the lounge was lovely too.
Win Place is a wonderfully cosy property set in a quiet, peaceful setting. It is ideally situated for exploring the Jurassic coast and great to come back and relax in after a day of activity! Thankyou Sharron and Family for a cracking stay!
We stayed at win place winfrith Newburgh, for our annual holiday, the cottage is set in lovely grounds in a real quiet location, its comfortable, especially the bed with memory foam mattress, haven't slept that well for a long time!!! Plenty of hot water due to solar panels ,and equipped with all the necessary amenities, you can catch a bus to nearby durdle dor & lulworth cove, but you'll need to use the car to visit further locations.had a great weeks stay there.
Lovely quiet place, the owners were friendly and helpful.
We had a really nice week visiting all of the lovely towns round about.
Would certainly recommend.

Fantastic accommodation, enough room for the 2 of us and the dog.
The owners were very friendly, the accommodation was clean and spacious with everything that you could need. The large TV with Netflix was a bonus and the log burner made the evenings very cosy. there was loads to do in the area and the local pub was just a short walk away. The village shop came in very handy. We will definitely be going back to Win Place. A really nice place to stay.

Lovely cottage
What a lovely cottage, well maintained and everything was on hand for a pleasurable stay. Bed extremely comfortable. Nice Indian takeaway from Indiana in Bovington. Even our crazy dog fully enjoyed herself.
Spent a couple of days walking between Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door and beyond - amazing scenery, but very hilly, take your hiking boots!! We were extremely lucky with the weather on first day, 2nd was cloudy with the fog rolling in.

Weekend in Winfrith
The accommodation was clean and of a fair standard. There were some drawbacks and lack of attention to detail meant that a number of areas created some stress. Bath water MUST be sorted out as it was impossible to mix cold and hot water. TV, log burner and the dripping kettle all needed attention. It was a pleasant enough stay over a warm, sunny weekend when one did not spend much time in the cottage, but had the conditions been different it would not have been too much fun.

Peaceful location
Quiet location, accommodation clean and bright. Great place to unwind from urban life. Country walks available from the house. Minor negative points, cooker could do with an upgrade and garden not secure for dogs

Lack of heating let it down
Nice cottage,a few things let it down,no washer/dryer,would be nice to have gone home without a bag of washing.Attention to detail lapse,in microwave was an out of date ready meal from last guest and something in a bag in cupboard don't know what it was looked like a bag of fresh pastry/pasta it smelled bad.it was only middle of may,but no heating.we asked but were told they didn't put it on.felt very chilly at night/morning.not relaxing at all.also towels stayed damp because no heated towel.rail

Very peaceful just what we needed
Great accommodation although we hadn’t slept on memory foam mattress before. We slept reasonably ok but found these mattresses are not for us but that’s personal preference 😊
There is lots of space for 2 and a dog. Very comfortable and with a log burner for those cosy evening requirements. We had a couple of issues which we reported and they were resolved very quickly and we were able to arrange replacement fire wood by texting and leaving the money out so that when we returned the wood was already there for our evening cosy up.
A pub, that serves good food and at good prices too, is within walking distance plus there is a local shop too. Although beware the shop is very expensive but that is usually the way with village shops. We opted for making our purchases when out and about. Although I was very happy to sleep in my own bed again we will happily return as we love Dorset and Win Place was a great place to base ourselves for the all important end of day relaxation.

Lovely cottage close to lots of good days out!
The cottage was beautifully kept and was well furnished. We really enjoyed having the wood burner. We had a great time visiting Tyneham, seeing relatives in Weymouth, and going to Monkey World. I would definitely recommend Win Place, and would return if we wanted to stay in the area again. We only met Sharron breifly but she was very friendly and willing to offer help if we needed it. We had a great few days away before Christmas!

About the host
Hosted by Sharon Narraway
We (David and Sharon Narraway) moved to Winfrith Newburgh in 2006, hoping for a better life in the countryside, we have three children and a friendly dog to complete our family. We have not been disappointed and have never looked back. We instantly fell in love with our house and the picture perfect village of Winfrith Newburgh and its location.
Why they chose this property
After visiting other family members in Dorset for many years, we loved it's charm and peacefulness, with a wide range of things to do all year round. We considered it would be nice area to retire to, then thought why wait! We felt Winfrith Newburgh filled all of our requirements, Village shop/Post Office, Train station (Wool) and of course a friendly local pub within walking distance. It is perfect for us. The local people are friendly and helpful and there is always somethings going on in the village hall or church.
What makes this property unique
Winfrith Newburgh is a good base for visiting surrounding areas, walking to Winfrith and Tadnoll heaths to spot local wildlife such as deer, rabbits, pheasants and many birds, jotting off to the coast without the use of the car, passing a few pubs on the way, cycling the many Purbeck pathways, horse riding though the beautiful coastal countryside or beaches, easy reach of Monkey World and the Tank museum, many historic town and their daily markets, all surrounding the Jurassic coast, and not forgetting the delights of Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove.
