Vintage Country Farmhouse Perfect All Year Round Destination

Please familiarize yourself with the amenities so you are prepared for your stay. June-Labor day is a weekly rental (5 night min). There is a 2 night minimum during other months. Home sleeps 10 in beds and there are 2 pullouts. We are 18 miles from Cooperstown All Star Village. Take a step back in time to when life was easy and you have not a care in the world. Southwind has become a guest favorite. Inside our luxurious estate you will find vintage décor reminiscent of the 1970’s with all high end furnishings. Lush gardens surround this home as well as stone patios perfect for outdoor entertaining or relaxation.
Southwind is a working farm with over 300 acres for you to enjoy. We have two ponds for frog hunting, a hiking trail to the top of the property for some amazing views of the entire Butternut Valley, and new to our farm is the expansion of our standard bred horses from Southwind farms in Pennington, NJ. We also have chickens, pheasants and even peacocks!
Our home has five bedrooms, four of which have their own en suite bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have two single beds in each and share a bathroom. There is a bedroom with a queen sized bed, a bedroom with a king sized bed and then there is the bedroom that is a family suite with a small living room with a sleeper sofa, as well as an additional twin size bed. There is also 1 sleeper sofa downstairs, so this home can comfortably sleep 14 people.
The large country kitchen has seating for 6 and the dining room can seat 10 people. The kitchen is equipped with all your dining and cook ware. There is also a gas BBQ grill on the back patio as well as ample seating on all patios for outdoor dining and entertainment.
A laundry room (detergent not provided) is on the first floor as well as another full bath for guests on the sleeper sofas. All linens are provided.
Southwind is the perfect location for large groups or families. We are only 20 minutes from Oneonta and the All-Star Village, so baseball families find Southwind to be perfect for all their needs.

We had a wonderful sorority reunion at Southwind farm. Beautiful setting, peaceful, yet close enough to Oneonta and Cooperstown to take advantage of activities they had to offer

unique house on a gorgeous property!

Rented this large and stately house to enjoy induction weekend in Cooperstown with family. All went smoothly and we enjoyed our stay. The property is beautiful and a treat to be surrounded by beautiful horses and enjoy the peace and quiet of this unique VRBO rental. Love the front porch and other outside seating areas along with flowers, shrubs and gorgeous landscaping.

Great house

The place was amazing, 6 of us stayed there for a baseball tournament at Damaschke Field. House was very clean and spacious 5 bathrooms and 5 bedrooms. We enjoyed all the aspects of the property especially all the different animals and ponds . Kelli was an excellent host. I highly recommend this property and would stay there again.

Spacious vintage home on a beautiful farm

Spacious and on beautiful grounds. 20-25 mins to All Star Village. Worked out well for 5 couples/families to stay here. Cell service very spotty on the drive here but can hook up to Wi-Fi once you are at the house. Rental manager, Kelli, responsive and helpful.

Relaxing and fun home

We (both sets of grandparents, parents and siblings) stayed at this relaxing and unique farmhouse for our participant player in the Cooperstown tournament. The property is gorgeous and the home is relaxing. It was about 20-25 minutes to the All Star Village through beautiful country roads. The actual town of Cooperstown is further, approximately 40-45 minutes. There was very spotty cell service (non existent at times), but the wi-fi is good. We would be sure to put in our Waze/GPS directions before we left the house and directions when we left the places we visited, to return to the house. The young kids loved the house and property and didn’t want to leave. We highly recommend this home for your stay in the area. Kelly was great to work with and almost immediately answered all of our questions.

Southwinds

Just got back from a week stay and have only positive things to say. We stayed with four other families to watch our children play in the Cooperstown AllStar Village tournament. This house was perfect for us. It was immaculate. Every single room was so clean. The house offered so much to do when we weren’t at the ballfield. The siblings that came were able to play on the farm. They were surrounded by horses peacocks chickens roosters and fish. It wasn’t that long of a drive to all-star Village. It definitely helped make a memorable trip. We even hosted a team party. Would definitely recommend this place for future travelers.

Beautiful farm land with fantastic house and great caretakers.

I spent a week here with four dads of baseball players who were playing a tournament 11 miles away. The farmhouse is large and well decorated. We each had our own bed and bath. The property is sprawling with horses, very cool, goats and chickens that provided our eggs for breakfast. There are exotic birds as well. We barbequed on the back deck many times and had the baseball team come on their off day and they had a blast! One highlight was the catching of frogs in the pond. Kelli was an amazing host. Highly recommend this property.

Beautiful large farm house and property !!!

Four families shared lovely Southwind for a week long stay while kids played at Cooperstown All-Star Village. It's about a 25 minute scenic drive to the All-Star Village through the countryside. Would not recommend if you are playing at Cooperstown Dreams Park because it is much further away. The roomy house was clean, neat and welcoming. Farm fresh eggs were a nice surprise when we arrived. Set on hundreds of acres with beautiful foliage, we all enjoyed walking the property and visiting with the animals. Kelli, our host was very accommodating if we needed anything. We ALL enjoyed our stay and wished it didn't have to end!!

The house was nice and clean and the farm was beautiful.

Overall we had a great stay at Southwind, especially enjoying the beautiful view, fun animals to watch and nice front porch with rocking chairs. The house was nice, but the 1970s retro-theme was quite odd. The toilets and kitchen appliances were 1970s in quality--not just in looks--and would be hard to deal with for longer than a weekend. Don't count on a 45-year old microwave to work well or safely, nor the dishwasher. The beds were hard as rocks and you might want to bring your own pillow for comfort. However, the house was great for a large, extended family event, and we enjoyed having the ample space to spread out in for relaxing, making meals and lounging around. Overall a nice place to stay.

Awesome place!!!!

It was a great experience staying at this house. I wish we stayed there for longer...so much to explore there. Huge backyard, beautiful garden, nice scenic view to enjoy. Great place for animal lovers...kids loved this place and enjoyed every moment. House was neat and clean. Awesome place for big family to have BBQ and other fun activities.
