The location of the property was great. Checkin wasn’t as smooth as I thought it would be. It was Christmas however. Checkin time on the listing stated 3pm and we had provided our flight details and arrival time as requested. When we arrived it was about 7pm or so and the gentleman who met us was having difficulty accessing the entrance. He told me that we were early for checking in which didn’t make any sense to me but we were tired from travel and eager to check in. I told him I read a review about the listing that you actually have to enter the property from the lower level / basement entrance. Come to find out the reason that is due to the fact the property management doesn’t want other residents to know the property is being used as a vacation rental. We were even told that if we get asked who we are to say we know the owners. Honestly this turned me off and if I would have known this up front we probably wouldn’t have booked this property.

Incredibly uncomfortable unit, ridiculous entrance/exit through a bedroom downstairs which apparently is solely to avoid the other tenants in the building as the VRBO unit is not officially permitted? Heat wasn't working when we arrived, beds were terrible, we are both trim average height men and we could barely move in the bathroom, one bathroom has no privacy, when you open the shower door, you are in a hall. after one night we asked to move and they found us another unit that was substantially better. Nick handled this very professionally and we ended up having a great week. To me, the only positive about the unit above is that it is located in a great neighborhood.

Initially they wanted us to used the narrow stairs and entrance thru a small basement like hall with a super narrow entrance. Fortunately we convinced the cleaning lady to give us the keys to front door (apparently the neighbors are not happy with the short term rentals) bedrooms were so tiny, we could hardly walk around the bed, luggage sat in hallway. Upstairs was accessed thru spiral staircase. Towels were olderand no hand towels.

Great location in quiet neighborhood yet very close to lots of amenities - pubs, restaurants, cafe’s and Tube. We recommend cocktails at ESQ and coffee at Molly Rose both on Old Brompton. Also the Hereford on Gloucester Road.

South Kensington getaway
Jose (manager) was great. He met us at the apartment to let us in and gave us instructions on everything. I also reached out to him a couple of times for local recommendations. Apartment was great for us (family of 5) and in a great area.

Great Place in a Great Location
This is a nice property in a great location. Plenty of shopping and restaurants within walking distance. We felt completely safe here. As with many places in europe the bedrooms are tight but the great location made this place perfect

Beautiful spot, great location
The apartment is in a great location that is easily accessible to many shops, points of interest, and the tube. We greatly enjoyed our stay and the apartment is just as listed. Accessing the apartment through the basement (bedroom) was a little awkward, but not a deal breaker. Nick was wonderful to work with and we'd definitely stay here again.

The property location was great. Near Subway, bus and local restaurants. De Marco restaurant was fabulous and only a 15 min walk. The spiral stairs to get from living kitchen are a bit of a tight challenge and carrying large suit cases up from the entry (below street level) was difficult for me 69 yr old lady. But loved the place and appreciate the stay

Great Flat in Wonderful location!
We really enjoyed our stay at this flat. The neighborhood is wonderful with so many walkable restaurants and market. The unit is very unique. Be aware access is through the lower (below ground level) level and not through the building. This didn’t bother us as we are comfortable with stairs. Getting checked in was easy and our host was very nice and easy to work with.

S. Kensington Property
This place is modern, clean and in a very good location. It’s in a posh neighborhood with nice restaurants. If you don’t like steps to get into the apartment and/or up and down to the kitchen and bedrooms then this is not for you. The kitchen is equipped with just enough……more dishes and utensils would help justify running the dishwasher. (Sorry, we’re from California where water is very expensive and scarce). I would stay here again, for sure cuz it’s beautiful.

Easy access to Tube, Museums, Stores, Restaurants &Coffee shops. Check in & Check out was a breeze. Nice unit with everything we needed for our stay. Baby cot was a plus. Stairs are narrow but not a problem for our group.

Location location location. This was a beautiful apartment. The main living room was lovely. The basement sleeping rooms were very cramped, the third basement room was not much of a room it’s bed was unsleepable. All bathrooms although cramped were very clean and well appointed. Thank you for letting us stay there.

Wonderful Location, Clean and Spacious Flat
This property checked all of our boxes - excellent location near the Gloucester Road tube station, on a quiet, residential street, but with easy access to all London has to offer. It was ideal for us - a couple visiting London without kids - who were visiting for a mix of both business and pleasure. We would happily stay here again. Thanks to our hosts for a wonderful place to call home during our time in London.

The property is on two levels close to a nice shopping area, restaurants and a cinema. Excellent public transport nearby, museeums in walking distance. Our first impression was quite good, but on closer inspection the appartment was not properly cleaned (e.g. oily burnt mess in oven, limescale in electric kettle, dirty coffee machine), some of the lights were not working, water in the bathroom was not flowing properly, blinds not working., wet spot in underground kitchen, etc. We were expecting a better mainteanced property for this hefty rental price. The owner made an effort to clean up, but of course could not solve the other issues. Therefore we cannot recommend the appartment in its current state.

Excellent apartment
We very much enjoyed our stay. The property was as listed. Communication was excellent. If I could have I would have given a 4.5 review as there were some small annoying features such as out of six window blinds theee didn’t work. Also the kitchen is fine but has no window as does the loo. But wonderful high ceilinged living room made up for it.

Wonderful flat in perfect location
Excellent flat in a perfect location in Kensington close to restaurants, shops and underground. Nick is a great host who is immediately responsive and addresses any issues. Nick met me in person at the location and the flat has all the amenities one needs either for a small family or business trip. I look forward to staying again.

The convenience of this flat couldn’t be any better — a great location to walk or take the underground to anywhere in London. The neighborhood also offers great bars and restaurants. The layout of the flat took a bit of getting used to - with the kitchen downstairs. But I would stay here again for a short visit.

It’s nice - but . . .
An excellent location and an apartment that could be five star with some additional attention to maintenance items such as burned out light bulbs, non-functioning window coverings, and dirty A/C filters (it was A/C weather in London during our stay). We somehow missed any mention in the apartment description that it is a two-level unit - it was not a problem for us but might be for others.
