Exquisite Luxury: Oceanview Penthouse Villa

Beautiful second home of kama'aina family right next to Mauna Lani's white sand beaches with access to a pool, spa, and grill area that face the ocean. This one bedroom penthouse villa, K302, provides utmost privacy and beauty with spectacular pond, ocean, and sunset views.

This third floor corner unit is in Building K and away from the other buildings, the pool area, and the adjacent hotel; making it extremely quiet, tranquil, and peaceful. It overlooks historic royal fishponds that will remind you of old Hawaii. You can see the ocean over the ponds and the beach is just steps away. Snorkeling here is regarded as some of the best on the Island with live coral, colorful reef fish, and protected green sea turtles.

The exquisitely appointed villa is 1,150 sq. ft. with an additional 330 sq. ft. lanai that opens to both the Living Room and the Bed Room. You can enjoy ocean breezes, watch fish jump in the ponds, and see amazing sunsets. The unit is very spacious with a 24' vaulted ceiling, floor to ceiling mahogany shutters, and is carpeted throughout. It comes with a king bed, two luxurious bathrooms, and a lovely kitchen that gets the morning sun.

Mauna Lani Terrace condos are next door to the Auberge Hotel which is often rated as the best resort on the Big Island. Guests can just walk to the hotel's conveniences; to the homeowner's beach; and to the highly rated Napua restaurant. In addition, there are several shops, restaurants, and a Foodland grocery store nearby. The 5-star resort also has two famous 18-hole golf courses, historic hiking trails, and a world class Fitness Club with tennis, pickleball, lap pool, spa, and gym facilities.

The villa is available for two adults provided they do not need to quarantine. Minimum stay is 5 nights and there are no additional fees for cleaning or other surprise charges. The unit is accessed by outside stairs, is strictly non-smoking, and no children or pets are allowed. We recommend purchasing travel insurance to recover any non-refundable cancellation charges.

Please check with the owners on availability as the calendar may not be up-to-date and we can sometimes release dates that we may have blocked for our use. We live on the island, are happy to answer questions, and do not accept booking dates that are more than a year away.

Beautiful and Peaceful Mauna Lani Terrace Condo

Spent a wonderful week in this beautiful penthouse condo while attending a wedding and related festivities at the Mauna Lani resort. Perfect location overlooking tranquil fishponds with ocean views from the lanai. Conveniently located close to all of the Mauna Lani amenities, yet very private and quiet. Host Surinder was very helpful in suggesting walking trails, restaurants and other island activities. Housekeeper Kathy welcomed me with a lovely note, delicious pineapple, as well as a spotless and comfortably cool condo. Highly recommend!

Perfect in every way!

This condo in Mauna Lani was the best vacation experience we have ever had! We stayed for 3 weeks, which gave us enough time to see a lot of the natural beauty of the big island. The condo was the perfect home base. The location is great for day trips to volcanoes, hikes, the southernmost point, rainforests, ranches, etc. And you can easily walk to beautiful beaches, snorkeling, fish ponds, lava fields, petroglyphs, shopping, golf, restaurants, etc. The condo itself is even better than the photos. It is luxurious and beautifully decorated but also comfortable, cozy, and thoughtfully arranged. Finally, the owners are the most hospitable, welcoming, and attentive hosts we have ever had. They went out of there way to make our stay absolutely perfect!

Gorgeous Property

An impeccable property with beautifully appointed interiors, lovely views and a peaceful, tranquil setting. The host was great to work with and always available. Relaxing high-end condo

Surinder's condo was perfect for our honeymoon. The welcome packet gave clear instructions for how to check in and out, the property was clean, quiet, and safe, and there are lots of great amenities right on the resort. We especially loved snorkeling right off Mauna Lani beach.

Beautiful Mauna Lani Terraces condo

The condo was immaculate and the setting was amazing. Extremely peaceful and great views of the fish ponds and the ocean in the distance. The unit was very clean and well equipped. We enjoyed watching the sunset for the ocean front chaise lounges that are available to Mauna Lani Terraces residents & guests. The pool are was great as well.

Amazing property!

As the property description says, an exquisite luxury apartment! From its great location (within walking distance of an amazing beach, walking paths and golf courses and centrally located to all points on the Big Island) this clean, comfortable and well appointed luxury condo with a fantastic view from the lanai is a MUST rent. Compliments to the owner who ensures that everything with the rental is seemless ensuring a stress free stay. Will most certainly stay here again!

Secret Paradise!

One of the most magical places in all the islands! It has everything you could ever want in a relaxing vacation and at the same time, is close to great hiking, stunning natural areas and quaint towns. The condo is a quiet and comfortable location to make your home base with everything you need at hand. My favorite moments were early mornings on the lanai with coffee, bird song, jumping fish and sweet tiny geckos. You will be just steps away from some of the cleanest beaches on the island with excellent snorkeling and comfortable cabana chairs. Every evening we walked all around the fish ponds and along the beach to watch the sunset. There are several excellent restaurants close by. No need to drive! Staying here in the fall is our favorite time because there are very few people and everyone is quiet and cheerful. The walking paths are safe and most are paved. You'll want to use a flashlight after dark. So many beautiful birds and fish to see! Mauna Lani Terrace is truly a magical place that few will experience. We are so grateful to have been two!

We had an amazing stay. The villa was spacious, well-appointed and perfectly located. We loved walking to the beach club and lounging in their chairs. It was also a quick walk to the Auberge for their breakfast buffet or a nice dinner. The property was quiet and peaceful. We would love to return!

Excellent property and location for Golf, Reading, and Relaxing

Good location and met all of our needs to relax on vacation. Host was excellent in proactive communication and checking to see we had everything we needed from preparing for the trip and during out stay. Kitchen was perfect for cooking meals and very well stocked with equipment, basic food items (spices, etc). Walkable to golf, restaraunts, and a short drive or 15 min walk to the grocery store.

Wonderful relaxing location

A serene beautiful property in an amazing location. I was able to watch sunrise and sunset from the balcony or from the beach which is just steps away. Incredibly - there were flying fish in the pond in front of the patio. I appreciated that there was no loud hotel/ resort noise but the resort was close enough if you wanted to visit. The lights in the property are a bit dim but the patio is large and very sunny. The condo is very well stocked for cooking - and definitely appreciated the wonderful Hawaiian coffee. I would definitely recommend for a relaxing vacation. I’ll be back.

This was exactly what we were looking for in a get-away unit among the best complexes in the Mauna Lani resort - well-appointed with great sunset sky views from the 3rd (top) floor. Communication with the property owner was excellent and prompt.

Zen-like Experience

Loved this top floor 1BR/2Ba Villa! The Asian decor was beautiful and tasteful. Fell asleep each night to the sounds of breezes in the palms. Awoke to morning coffee on the lanai watching the jumping fish. Location was excellent- short walks to beach restaurants or marketplace with restaurants. Great snorkel beaches nearby. Lighting is a little dim but calming. We would stay here again.

The holidays in paradise

I have stayed in a number of rental condos in Hawaii and this was by far my favorite! Amazing location, great beach walks and running in all directions, and a huge lanai to enjoy meals while watching jumping fish - it was wonderful. The condo itself is very spacious (it's larger than the 2 bedroom condo we live in) and is equipped with literally everything you could want in a kitchen. Two spacious bathrooms was a luxury (compared to a hotel room) and the hotels close by were great when we didn't feel like cooking. The only small suggestion I could make is a couple of sturdy Tommy Bahama beach chairs and an umbrella for the days when the local beach club is running short on chairs or when you want to venture further afield, up to Hapuna Beach. The communications with Surinder before and during our stay were great, and we appreciated all the information he provided. Thanks again, and we look forward to visiting in the future!!

We moved to the Big Island from Berkeley in 2011. Our son graduated from high school here, my wife is a psychologist, and I have retired after a career in Silicon Valley. I am currently on the board of Mauna Lani Resort's Architecture Committee and we simply love living on island.

Why they chose this property

We live here in Waimea and looked for an oceanfront villa for several years until we found this unit. We have updated some of the furnishings, use it as a second home, and prefer renting it to friends. It is a one bedroom unit that is suitable for only two adults.

What makes this property unique

This is a private home that is exquisitely furnished with artwork, is located in a luxurious eco-resort, and has access to ocean activities. It overlooks 800 year old royal fishponds and recalls a tranquil Hawaiian past which is being lost to development. You also benefit by dealing directly with the owner instead of a third-party property management company.
