Harbour Cottage - A Beautiful Two Bed Townhouse Overlooking Stromness Harbour
An old fisherman’s cottage built with the help of a few salvaged ships beams and masts, Harbour Cottage is one of Stromness’ original houses pre-dating any modern record keeping. Sitting on the harbour front and directly across from the Ferry Terminal and Travel Centre, it places you in the heart of the town known as The Venice of The North. With private parking directly outside, you are only a 5 minute drive from the heart of Neolithic Orkney and it’s globally renowned UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Step inside Harbour Cottage and you’ll find a tastefully refurbished and unique house, with a separate kitchen/dining room leading to a sitting room with adjacent w/c and shower room downstairs. Upstairs are two double bedrooms with one overlooking the harbour front.

The property was so comfortable, warm and homely. It's central location was terrific - close to the ferry terminal, close to restaurants and parking on site was fabulous. Thank you David for such a lovely place to stay.

Great location and a warm haven from the cold weather
After driving there in the cold rain and parking right in front, we opened the door and were greeted by a fire in the gas fireplace and soft music playing. It was immaculate and cozy and a great location. We were close to all the sites we wanted to see plus the grocery store was down the street. Scara Brae and Maeshowe were amazing as were the other sites but we did not realize how much we would love Stromness itself, which we could walk to right from the house. Plus we were walking distance from several good restaurants. We highly recommend this place for a couple or family.

Harbour Cottage is a very thoughtfully appointed accommodation.
Harbour Cottage is ideally situated within walking distance to the ferry terminal and the town of Stromness. It’s is very clean and well maintained property, with parking right out front. It was our home for three nights in April.
