A great base to see the best of Cornwall
The little cottage was warm and cosy and for a couple so much room. The historic town of St Columb Major has parking issues and as the little cottage does not have private parking it could be a problem. As we were out every day the parking of 2 hours max in the street out front (9-6) was not an issue. The little cottage was clean and tidy and had a lovely warm feel to it. I would highly recommend staying here. St Columb Major is the best place to stay to see the whole of Cornwall

Little home from home
24 fair Street was a superb little home from home for our week's stay in St Columb Major. It's perfectly placed to travel into and around Newquay, Padstow and the many beaches. St Columb Major itself is a quiet little village with things to do for all the family. A must stay cottage and location for an active family! Regards The Laidlow's

Lovely cottage in a good location
Cottage was very nice, full of lovely things on the walls, a great selection of books and amazingly videos and DVDs (though my tech skills meant I couldn't get the machines to work). Beds very comfortable. Lighting in the ground floor not good for reading but the space was cosy. Parking was a challenge: free everywhere overnight, one long stay at the end of the village, 2 short stays very close. Bring £1coins!

Lovely property but sleeping arrangements not suitable
We loved the house. It was well appointed, thoughtfully kitted out in the kitchen and we'll decorated. However we struggled with the sleeping arrangements. The owners were advised upon booking of the ages of our party but failed to point out that the bunk beds were only suitable for children and not a 20 and 17 year old. It wasn't until we arrived that we read in the instructions that only children could sleep on the top bunk. As it was clearly not going to be suitable for either my daughter or son, my son had to sleep on the sofa for the entire holiday which was not at all ideal or comfortable for him.

Great property and perfect location
We have just returned from our stay in Cornwall and had the best time especially as this property felt like we were home from home. It has the ideal location for all the major beaches in the area and was a comfortable base to return to at the end of the day. Jeremy and Sarah were great hosts as they constantly kept in contact with me about any issues. Thank you

Good location in a nice convenient village.
My family and I stayed a week, and we liked the location, conveniently close to beaches and the village had everything you’d need for a family stay. Overpriced and doesn’t have parking on the property, but parking nearby.

Cornish Cottage
Good communication with the owner, most of the cottage is beautiful, spacious and has character, but the shower room/toilet lets it down. Really comfy beds and good living/dining space. The location is convenient for walks, beach, the shops are handy and the town is nice to wander through.

Nice cottage in convenient location
A charming cottage which is surprisingly spacious. It was generally well equipped and very comfortable. Loved the big bath! Only thing missing was a cafetière but we made do with a teapot. St Columb is a lovely village and a great base for exploring the area. The Chinese takeaway was great when we were too lazy to go out or cook. The Town and Country cafe does a fantastic breakfast.Perfect poached eggs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the whole area is absolutely beautiful.

Fabulous stay in St Columb Major
Spent 6 days in this lovely cottage in North Cornwall. Check in was easy and property was as described. 3 pubs in the village and convenience stores a short walk away if you can’t get to a big store. Ideally positioned for many of the highlights Cornwall has to offer. Wonderful relaxing stay in beautiful surroundings. Such a shame all good things come to an end.

The cottage is very cosy and clean, made us feel very much at home.
We spent a lovely Easter holiday in Cornwall and the cottage was an ideal place to stay. The bedrooms are small but beds are comfortable, kitchen well equipped and the dining and living rooms were nice and cosy. The hosts have been very friendly and quick in the communication. We all had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend the place!

Lovely cottage in a convenient location
Lovely spacious cottage in a good location for exploring Cornwall. Beaches within 15 minute drive. The Eden Project 25 minutes away. Parking is not an issue (as suggested in a previous review). If no spaces available on the road in front of the cottage then the large free car park is mere minutes away. Lots of things provided. We stopped at a supermarket on the way down but we didn't need half of the stuff we bought as it was already there provided for us. Would definitely stay again.

Spacious and comfortable cottage set back from the road
I can recommend this spacious and very well presented cottage which is set back from the road so that the passing traffic noise doesn't disturb. I was with my female cousin and sister-in-law, staying in St Columb to support my husband's annual music festival held in St Columb's beautiful church in August each year, and the cottage was perfectly suited for the three of us, with the kitchen and shower/loo and separate bathroom being situated at opposite ends of the property to the three comfortable bedrooms. We particularly liked the attractive sitting room at the front of the cottage and the only complaint we had was the lack of suitable lighting for adults to read by!! This applied to all the rooms so we found ourselves turning on every single lamp we could find - not all of them had working bulbs - and were mystified by the spot lights in the bedrooms which had been disabled. We concluded that for families with children there wasn't the same need as for three adults who like to go on holiday and read their books and newspapers! Oh, and we had to buy a cafetiere as we couldn't find anything in which to brew fresh coffee... but otherwise the kitchen was excellent. The weather was terrible the week of 19th August 2018, but it didn't stop us having a great time visiting all the local attractions and going to the festival concerts in the evening. Would definitely return. Favourite pub in St Columb = the Ring O'Bells - Brian the landlord is always welcoming and the food and beer are good too!

A wonderful little cottage
The cottage is light, clean and cozy. Bedrooms are a good size with very comfortable beds. Parking has its challenges, but there are two parking areas within a few minutes walk. Will definately be on the shortlist for my next Cornwall break.

Beautifully presented, very comfortable cottage
It was a hot week in the Padstow area but the flagstone floored dining room was always beautifully cool. The living room was so cosy and we felt so at home relaxing there in the evening. The bedrooms were also very welcoming with excellent beds and linens. A great base for the area and highly recommended.

Perfect location for short break with family
My family enjoyed our 5 day short break in this warm cosy cottage which had everything we required . Comfy beds, linen and towels provided and fully equippped kitchen with extras like board games, dvds and excellent wifi for our 2 young adult children. It was lovely to return from the beaches and settled in for a cosy evening with tv or scrabble. We would recommend this cottage and stay here again as it's an ideal location for surfing beaches and picturesque harbours and the lost gardens of Heligan.

Wohlfühl-Ferienhaus

Wonderful cottage in a great location
The cottage was a fabulous base for a great family holiday. The bedrooms were a decent size and the living room was just what we needed. The kitchen had everything we requiredfor our family of three, although there is plenty for larger parties. The bath was a massive bonus, our 2 year old daughter particularly loved it. Very clean and user friendly, I would be very happy to recommend the cottage to friends and family.
