Chalet Noisette1.1 is a duplex over the ground and first floor, with a garden and a patio terrace. It has wonderful views across the valley to the Grandes Rousses mountains and the La Fare waterfall.
It is very close to the cable car (150m), shops, restaurants, ice rink, gym and pool (situated down the hill below the cable car station - there is a lift down). A local agent is available to help you get the most from your stay.
There are four bedrooms, each with a balcony or access to the patio/garden. Two bedrooms are doubles, one has two singles and the other has bunk beds.
Vaujany is a wonderful little village high in the French alps (1250m) offering superb winter and summer facilities. It is linked to the Alpe d'Huez ski area, and the nearby cable car takes you in two stages to 2800m in 15 minutes (and there is a 1700m red/black descent back to Vaujany). Children can go sledding on the slope by the side of the apartment.
The apartment is regularly used by its English owners and is very well equipped and furnished. The kitchen has Bosch appliances: induction hob, oven, microwave, large fridge, dishwasher. Kettle, coffee maker and toaster are also provided. There is high speed wifi and TV with hundreds of channels in all languages. There is also an Xbox 360 (which doubles as a DVD player) and powered speakers which can be connected by Bluetooth to a mobile device.
There are two bathrooms, both with walk-in showers. There is a large utility room where there is a washing machine and heated drying rack. A lockable garage is provided which is ideal for storing bikes and ski equipment; boot warmers are there if needed. It is normally best to park cars in the covered free public parking which is nearby.
A high chair is available and a cot can be provided if requested in advance. No gate is provided for the stairs: the renter is responsible for making their own arrangements.
Pillows, duvets, sheets and towels are included, as are all reasonable utility costs. There is a cleaning charge of 190 EUR and a security deposit of 400 EUR that is returnable after your stay provided that there is no loss or damage.
Although a small resort, Vaujany has invested in excellent modern facilities, such as a full size ice rink, pool, gym/spa, bowling and a summer water park. It is very well suited for families, with a very good nursery, kid's club and planned activities during the winter and summer seasons.
In summer the area is famous for cycling (Alpe d'Huez, Cols de la Croix de Fer, Glandon and Sabot, etc) and there are many places to rent cycles (for example, in Bourg d'Oisans). Vaujany offers mountain biking, hiking, via ferrata, fishing, pony trekking and a sports centre with tennis, archery and lots more.
Not very far away at Venosc there is an excellent adventure park and white water sports. There is also an adventure park close by in Oz and windsurfing at Allemont.
By road, Vaujany is reached taking the RD 1091 ( the road linking Grenoble - Briançon ). You leave the RD 1091 at Rochetaillée for the Départmentale 526 for the "Vallée de l'eau d'Olle". It is about 50 minutes from Grenoble.
There is a petrol station in Allemont - the small town below Vaujany. The supermarket in Vaujany is quite small. There is a large Intermarche in Bourg D'Oisans and both a Carrefour and Intermarche in Vizille (a town midway to Grenoble). There are also bus services and taxis available, details on the Vaujany Station website.
