About this property

"So close yet so far away!"

Tio Edwardo’s

So Close Yet So Far Away!

Private home nestled in the foothills of the Tucson Mountains.

Charming Ranch House in the midst of Sonoran Desert vegetation and mountain views yet only minutes from I-10, Saguaro National Park West, Golfing, Shopping and other service venues.

Our Great Uncle Ed purchased the property in the 1950’s, built the home and lovingly maintained and manicured the surrounding desert. His refuge looks very much the same now as it did then. We have his same passion for the natural beauty of the property and have worked to preserve it in his honor to share with you.

The Casita was recently renovated: bath, fixtures, paint, tile and updated with central air/heat. A perfect blend of Retro Ranch Style and Classic Mexican Craft work.

The décor and location will instantly help you feel the enduring warmth of the Old Pueblo and the draw of contemporary Tucson. The perfect haven after a day on the trail exploring all Southern Arizona has to offer.

The proprietors/owners are happy to answer any questions and provide information about the area that we have collected from life times of experience. We want you to have the most completely enjoyable stay possible.

A pleasant and well appointed Casita in a great location. Recommend it.

Casita was clean comfortable and well appointed. Location was very convenient to shopping and activities in the Tucson area. Views were wonderful. Owners were most helpful and accommodating and non intrusive. I would highly recommended this rental.

A Cozy Casita

Had a great time at this cozy casita. Its location was convenient to most every attraction in the area, and there was so much to see and do. The owners live on either side but we felt we had so much privacy. When there was a problem, however, they solved it as quickly as they could. Several grocery stores were within a few miles or less plus restaurants, department stores, and a beautif movie theater. We brought our dog and found two very nice dog parks just off Silverbell. We felt very much at home here and had a great time in Tucson.

Comfortable House - Beautiful Desert Location!

We really enjoyed this lovely and comfortable house during our week-long visit in March. It's a beautiful setting with spectacular views, along with nice birdwatching opportunities. The owner gave us our privacy but made sure we knew he was available if needed. The property had everything we could have wanted, and we were able to simply relax and enjoy our time in Tucson. The house has a great southwestern feel inside and out, a nice patio, extremely comfortable beds, an excellent kitchen, and a GREAT shower. The goodie basket was exactly what we needed when we arrived very late without having a chance to get dinner. Way to go! The only other information I would include about the property is that there is some traffic noise out on the patio, especially in the morning. Inside is no problem whatsoever. It is what it is, and I only mention it so that those looking for a very quiet setting will know this up front and won't be disappointed. We felt all the positives far outweighed this one thing and we wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend this great vacation rental!

Desert Gem

We spent a perfect week in this delightful home. It is exactly as advertised - or better. Casita Tio Eduardo is a small mid-century home sensitively and artistically modernized by the current owners, who clearly love it and take great care of it. We loved the location - a little bit out of the way for quiet and privacy but close enough to shopping, restaurants and I-10 to meet our needs. The property is covered in beautiful desert plants, including giant saguaros, and the view to the mountains is classic desert southwest. The owners have the house well-stocked with everything needed, and included a welcome basket of treats. They were also very helpful in accommodating our travel schedule - Thank you Carrie! We hope to stay here again next year. It is definitely our Tucson home.

Very spacious and comfy, with nice views!

We enjoyed the amenities, from the gas grill to the stocked refrigerator. Everything one might need was supplied, and then some! It was quite relaxing and there were beautiful sunsets in the evening. The bed was comfortable. It was a good value for the money.

We loved this Tucson casita!

We had a wonderful week at this beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable casita. The grounds and view were lovely, as depicted in the photos. And Carrie and Bob ensured that the casita was fully supplied to meet all our needs. Upon arrival, we found a generous basket full of tasty treats. And we appreciated being able to have our English setter in the house with us. The property is in a convenient location for easy access to the routes to our favorite tourist destinations, such as Tohono Chul park and the Arizona-Tucson Desert Museum. We hope to return next winter!

Cozy Home Away From Home

Have stayed in numerous house/condo rentals, but this was by far the best equipped. I always bring plastic wrap, paper towels, zipbags etc. but did not need to. All was there, even a mixer and blender. Could easily stay there for long term vacation time. Home Owners very accommodating, even great snacks awaiting for us upon arrival. Especially enjoyed the fire pit out back. Great way to unwind with the family at days end. We most certainly will stay here again the next time there is another large family gathering and we need a place to stay. Can't say enough about this home. Close to Hwy and Grocery Store too.
