Summer in the French Pyrenees
What a fantastic location, really breathtaking, serene and restful. Could not have had a warmer welcome, breakfast on the terrace overlooking the pyrenees a dream. Customer services excellent, would recommend this without hesitation. Pau and Jurancon delightful places to visit.

Perfect stay near Pau
Just finished a lovely stay with Anne and Andre. The Peach Room was spacious and bright with an up to date en suite bathroom and comfy bed. A small, organic winery is an easy stroll down the road. Just ring the bell at the gate and Manu will come round and provide a free tour and wine tasting. The view of the snow-capped Pyrenees is amazing, looking out over the vineyards and rolling hills to the south. A great value and a wonderful visit. Easy to find, hard to leave. John and Janelle

Great family holiday location
We have stayed a number of times over the years at Clos Mirabel, and will be returning next year. It is a wonderful, welcoming retreat with stunning views over the surrounding countryside. There are plenty of things for families to do, such as swimming in the pool, waterslides at the beach and ziplining through the trees in the forest nearby. I would highly recommend Clos Mirabel to family and friends.

Fabulous bed and breakfast!
We stayed in the master bedroom and it was not only beautiful but the view from the window was spectacular! The breakfast was very filling and delightful. Being greeted at the door with a glad of regional wine was wonderful too

Pyrénées-Atlantiques - Un petit coin de paradis
What can I say? Clos Mirabel is truly a little piece of paradise sitting majestically overlooking the Cote de Jurrançon and the Pyrénées. André and Ann are the perfect hosts. The absolute peacefulness of this property of an evening is profound with the only nocturnal sounds being that of two Tawny owls calling each other. The manor house provides exceptional accommodation, with breakfast consisting of fresh local produce. If there was ever a place to either re-charge your batteries, or as a staging post for exploring the south of France or Spain then this is it. I can not speak more highly of Clos Mirabel and our beautiful hosts. For my wife's birthday it could not have been better. I believe they may have even been a little tear shed by her when we left. Most highly recommended.

Amazing place with amazing hosts
As soon as we arrived Ann, Andre and Emily welcome us into the superb Clos Mirabel. With its dominant position atop a hill, it is sheltered from the elements with an incredible view south across Jurancon vines and across to the Pyrenees you could easily believe you were a million miles from civilisation rather than just 15 minutes from the centre of Pau. After asking for tips on where to eat, we headed into Pau and found the parking easy and the local food delicious. There is even a Michelin starred Auberge just a few minutes drive away and many other local attractions making this area far more inviting than anywhere else we have been in France. Our room was well made, nicely decorated and offered us that grand view directly from our windows. It also managed that most difficult of things for a guest room; it was spacious and open to while away some time reading, whilst at the same time being cosy and we slept like logs. Breakfasts at Clos Mirabel are wonderful with generous helpings of local produce, warm breads and freshly made food, and not a cliched croissant in sight. I would heartily recommend Clos Mirabel to anybody visiting the area and we look forward to our next trip so we can return :)

Outstanding place to stay
We have stayed at Clos Mirabel on 2 separate occasions and both times have been absolutely outstanding. The setting is absolutely stunning and the house itself beautiful. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel extremely welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the owners, Andre and Ann. Breakfast was a delight, with local fresh produce, fresh fruit and bread amongst other delicious food and drink. The bedrooms and bathrooms were all of good size, spotlessly clean and furnished in keeping with the style of the house - a beautiful old Manor house - without being too stuffy. The location itself is set outside of the centres of Jurancon and Pau on a quiet hillside road but both are within a short driving distance and taxis can be easily arranged. There are some wonderful restaurants nearby, all of which were recommended by Ann and one in particular we visited twice in 3 days it was so good. Clos Mirabel is an absolute gem, a place we will return to time and time again and would recommend to everyone.

Superb B&B with a personal touch!
We stayed at Clos Mirabel for a week in the self catering accommodation (the Winery) which is separate from the main house and has amazing views across the vineyards to the Pyrenees. The pool is a godsend after a day traveling around in the car and as we drove into the wonderful grounds, I could feel myself begin to unwind with the tranquility and beauty of the place. However, it is the owners, Ann and Andre that really make this place so special. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they did their utmost to make our stay as enjoyable as possible without being intrusive in any way. When we returned home, we felt that we had left good friends behind. The reviews for this place say it all - would return in a heartbeat!

"Clos Mirabel to piekny budynek – zamek – rezydencja z zapierajacym dech w piersiach widokiem na Pireneje. Po przyjezdzie do Clos Mirabel wlasciciele: Angielka Ann i Kanadyjczyk Adrian przyjmuja gosci butelka przepysznego lokalnego wina Jiranson. Pijac wino w ogrodzie rozkoszujesz sia zapierajaca dech w piersiach panorama Pirenejów. Ann przygotowuje przepyszne sniadania - kazdego dnia inny zestaw(!), aby goscie mieli róznorodosc. My napewno wrócimy do Clos Mirabel a Wam serdecznie polecamy to miejsce!

Pau Perfect
My husband and I spent three wonderful nights at Clos Mirabel in September. The beautiful old manor has been restored beautifully by Andre, a retired Canadian diplomat, and Ann, an attorney with years of experience in the travel business. The property is located at the edge of a vineyard just 15 minutes from Pau. It is quiet and serene but convenient for seeing the sights. Upon our arrival Ann offered tea or wine on the veranda which provided a breathtaking view of the mountains in the distance. Hospitality continued with Ann's restaurant suggestions and dinner reservations. Andre provided maps and suggestions for touring the area. Our room was beautifully furnished with modern bath and all were impeccably clean. Breakfast ws much more than typically provided, replete with several regional cheeses, fresh fruit, different breads and meats, such as Bayonne ham or smoked salmon. I especially loved Ann's coffee custards. Clos Mirabel is exactly what a b&b should be --beautiful, friendly and personal. I can't wait to return!

French-Canadian André is a retired diplomat; Ann worked in the travel industry and public affairs. They both have a keen interest in health and well-being which is reflected in their choice of Clos Mirabel and its outstanding location looking over vineyards, out towards the entire chain of the Pyrénées Atlantiques. Ann has a keen interest in psychology; Emily attended French school and finished her secondary education at the international school in Pau. Rachel and Xavier are latest family members to work at Clos Mirabel and are currently running the family business along side Ann and Andre. They bring with them their creative flair and exceptional culinary skills.

Why they chose this property

Much travelled Ann and Andre fell in love with Clos Mirabel and its breath-taking views over 13 years ago. They lived in the 18th Century Manor House for 2 years before undertaking a major renovation in 2005 retaining as many of the historical features as possible.

The original Winery which housed the wine press has now been converted in to 4 self-catering Houses and Studios.

The original house at Clos Mirabel was a very simple Béarnaise farmhouse built between 1732 and 1738. A small barn was added a little later. In 1825, the property was purchased by Jean Mirabel, hence the name, Clos Mirabel. At the same time he bought several acres of land that included the vineyard.

What makes this property unique

Set in 15 acres of parkland the Clos Mirabel Estate offers you a chance to relax in a peaceful setting. Clos Mirabel provides a hilltop haven in Bed and Breakfast and Self Catering Accommodation where visitors feel refreshed and inspired.

Everyone can enjoy the park at their leisure. It offers swings, swimming pool and trampoline for some, exploratory walks for others or simply relaxation in the shade of our oak trees. Admire the magnificent uninterrupted views of the entire chain of the Pyrénées Atlantiques.

The large mosaic tiled pool in the Clos Mirabel grounds is available to all guests from May to mid October. Partly solar heated measuring 12×6 meters and with a depth of 1-2 meters, it offers amazing views of the vineyards and Pyrénées.

Sun loungers, garden furniture and barbecues are also provided for your relaxation.
