About this property

Villa July...Relaxing oasis of silence and stunning view

Our property is one of the most relaxing places you can desire. An oasis of silence, full of flowers and terraces facing each one on a different panorama. On the sides of the heart of the property, the main terrace of this beautiful scenario, where the Faraglioni are the main characters, rise the two Villas, Villa Kronberg, which gives the name to our property, and Villa July, completely independent one from the other. Each one privately terraced.

The property is placed 15 minutes walking from Capri town center and 15 minutes from Marina Piccola beach. The area is particularly quiet, because it is built on top of a mountain. The view is simply stunning. A beautiful terrace with plants and nature all around is the hearth of this place. If you really want to know Capri, here you'll have the chance to fall in love with it and, above all, see the real face of Faraglioni.

Our standard check-in is at 16.00.

Please accord with the owner for different check-in time.

Perhaps the World's Most Beautiful View
The location of this lovely little villa is more than enough reason to spend a couple of days here. It has the most beautiful view in Capri!. The walk to the villa is charming; however, carrying your own suitcases when leaving is a bit arduous since it is partially uphill. The bathroom is small and the decor could use a little updating but we are already talking about returning. Enjoy the beauty and don't worry about the few inconveniences.

Rat Infestation
I have hesitated to write this, as I feel Guendalina is a good person and I feel badly for the predicament she is in. However, had I been forewarned, I would not have rented this property, so I felt a duty to publish this. I chose this property for the view, and in that regard, it lived up to my expectation. I also read others' reviews - which were very good. The location and view are great - an easy walk up to the city or down to the beach. But.... when we woke up the first morning, we saw that 'someone' had eaten the fruit we left in a bowl on the counter. I was disappointed when I contacted Guendalina, to hear her response that 'we have 'mosquitoes'. I have never seen a bug eat a banana. I suggested that she place traps, but that did not seem to happen. A few days later, while eating dinner on the balcony, we watched 2 rats climb in and out of holes in the stone wall (which we could see lead directly behind the kitchen cabinets). The rats did not seem the least bit concerned that we were there. In addition to eating food, they chewed through some clothing items. I'm sure you can understand that this put a huge damper on our time in Capri - it was hard to sleep thinking of the rats running around. Another issue was the noise. There is a large house that is rented out, immediately above this unit. While we were there, there was a group of 8 people attending a friends wedding. We could hear every word, and every time they moved a chair, it sounded like they were in our unit with us. We have stayed at many VRBO's in our time, but this is the first time that we did not meet the owner. Guendalina sent the cleaning lady (who does not speak English) to meet us and check us in (although she was available on the phone). Overall, Guendalina was easy to deal with, although there was a definite lack of responses to my text's regarding the rats. I hope that Guendalina is able to fix the holes in the walls and get rid of the rats. Until that time, I cannot recommend her unit.

Good but not quite what I expected.
BEAUTIFUL VIEWS!! BEAUTIFUL. We (3 adults) enjoyed our stay on Capri very much and the apartment was fine enough for our purposes, but my expectations we not the same as what we encountered. This place could be perfect for you if you know all this going in: The location is very quiet, at the far western end of the Marina Piccola side of the island. Comfortable beds. Small balcony off the main bedroom also with great views. 3 of the 4 gas burners for the stove worked fine, and a medium-sized fridge with freezer kept good cold and ice. Coffee (and two small Italian coffee makers), olive oil, salt, and vinegar were in the apartment, but no other comestibles. A decent food store is a 15 minute walk away, up a manageable inclined road at the main intersection of the island. A serviceable shopping cart is provided. The small public beach is a 10 minute walk down (mostly stairs) at Marina Piccola, but the climb back up the stairs was too much for my legs, so we took the bus (€1.80/person). There is a bus ticket office in Marina Piccola. Apartments are expensive on Capri and his was an option we could work with, but there are some aspects of the place that are not obvious from the listing and if you know them up front you will know what you are getting. 1) The apartment is a 5-minute walk from the road and here is some change in elevation 2) EXTRA costs: Internet is €5/night and air conditioning is €10/night and works well upstairs in the two bedrooms. Our experience was that it didn't cool off the downstairs much. 3) there are plenty of dishes, pots and pans, and flatware, but only 4 metal cooking spoons/ladles, a bread knife, a cork screw, and a wooden spoon. 4) there are no rods on which to hang towels so plan to dry them over the chairs and railings of the patios. 5) the shower is on the ceiling of the bathroom, 6) the housekeeper who lets you in is very nice but appears to know no English. She shows everything well, but don't expect her to understand any questions in English. 6) access to the bedrooms is via a tight spiral staircase. 7) the inside seating consists of only a comfy love seat (for two) and wooden chairs for the kitchen table. 8) on the downstairs patio there is a table with 3 chairs and two comfortable lounge chairs. Upstairs patio has 2 chairs. Bus & funicular tickets are all interchangeable, so just buy what you think you'll need. Bus drivers will stop for you if there is room but don't like to make change.

good location but you pay for it being away from everything
We were aware that it was hard to get in and out ok! Sea gulls did"nt bother us! But the main issues are (1) we paid 10 euro a day extra for A/C and it was available only in one bedroom out of the three!!!!!!!! {2] to get to the two bedrooms above no way you can bring suitcases up the spiral staircase never the less to climb it yourself> sorry but none of us four were happy!!!!!!!!!!! vVictor Sorrentino San Diego Ca.

Great view, but overprized.
The view is breath-taking. The aparatment itself is a quite shabby. Some of the furniture is worn-out and about to fall apart. Cross your fingers that nothing collapses during your stay as it will make your already expensive stay even more costly.

Private Awesome View Marina Piccola
The best things in life usually require you to work a little harder for them. Villa Kronburg is a private property that is a bit of a hike to get to, but has some of the best views of Marina Piccola and the Faraglioni rocks anywhere. Normally, that would be enough, but add in all the unique elements...the spiral staircase, the little deck off the bedroom, the bathroom window that opens wide to make you feel you are taking an outdoor shower, and the character that comes from a classic family built and owned property that helps to convert you to part of the local culture. All the modern amenities you need, the property is clean and well maintained. Location provides easy access to markets, restaurants, shopping, bus transport and the Capri town center. Guendalina and her family have a true rare gem, sadly most people will never get a chance to experience one of the best secrets on Capri. Returning will never be soon enough !

Amazing views, secluded
My husband and I and my 2 sisters stayed at Villa July for 6 days. I honestly think that staying here for an extended period of time was not the greatest. Maybe for 2 or 3 nights it would have been nice, but for that long, it was really small for us, and not the cleanest. Cons: There was a third bedroom off the terrace that smelled bad all the time, and had ants, so no one wanted to sleep in there. There wasn't enough sitting space to hangout (only small couch for 2 people and 4 dining room chairs). We had a rat visitor that would come out on the terrace while we were eating at night, although he never cleaned up food scraps on the table, so i feel like he was slightly domesticated looking for handouts. The shower is on the ceiling of the bathroom, so the whole bathroom turns into a shower, it's weird. The wifi stopped working when we still had 2 more days to use it, so that was unfortunate. The seagulls are terrible! They made all kinds of noises 24/7 so we rarely got sleep. We had to keep the windows closed, which might be really bad when it's warm out, but wasn't that bad for us since it was fairly cool. The shower backed up and took forever to drain. The woman that checked us in couldn't speak any English at all. There's a long walk from the main road to the apartment, and it is 10-15 mins to the main town of Capri (uphill) and to Marina Piccola to the beaches. Pros The views are breathtaking. Like, you wouldn't get any other views from any other part of the island like you got from this apartment and walking path to the apartment. The host was very accommodating to some issues we had. We asked for a cleaning halfway through our stay, and it was a very thorough cleaning and easy to schedule. The walk to and from the towns are amazing, so many flowers and beautiful houses. The wifi worked really well compared to the wifi in the rest of Italy. The kitchen was well stocked with all the needed utensils, pots, pans, etc. Not too many stairs to get to the apartment, but hills, not the greatest if you have a lot of luggage, but better than stairs, pack light! This will be good for people who want to be secluded and get a taste of the non-touristy areas. We would have preferred a more inhabited area. the seagulls were just so terrible though, I'll never see them the same way again. I also gained a ton of muscle in my thighs and butt from walking up and down hill so frequently, so be ready for that!

Little house with lots of character in a quiet location with stunning views
We loved this sweet little house and the amazing cliff side location. A bit of a walk up hill into Capri which might be a struggle for some in the summer heat but a good way to see some of the island. The accomodation was clean and nicely furnished but for 5 of us not quite enough sitting space. Only one small sofa and 4 dining chairs. Also could do with more kitchen implements and a kettle! Capri was beautiful but very expensive. The 5 minute taxi from the Marina cost 30 euros so if on a budget walk or get the bus. Good supermarket at the top of the hill. We found it a bit touristy but explored the quiet bits of the island on foot which was lovely.

A cosy villa in paradise
Villa July is very nice holiday-home for adventure seekers and people, who like to walk and be looking on beautiful landscape. Villa July is a peaceful place; nothing disturbs, but noisy sea-gulls early in the mornings :) Our family had an enjoyable week in a paradise!
