Gothic memories on the path to Notre Dame Cathedral
Number Mairie de Paris 7510500728636 Flat at groundfloor compose of two bedrooms with each its own bathroom (shower, sink and toilet). We did a complete renovation trying to respect the soul of the ancient place. Part of the walls of the building belong in the past to the Bernardins college of 13th century. That was the time of the "Templar Chevaliers".... We conceived the whole volume for a comfort of people needing privacy and calm and an area to be together during the day. Two separate bedrooms with closing doors and their individuals toilet and shower comfort . A dining and living room area with a little kitchen but fully equipped. The height of the ceiling of the upper bedroom is around 2 mt heigh (the wooden ceiling is not straight as old building). The height of the ceiling of the bedroom under the mezzanine is of 2mt height. The wooden ceiling in the dining room is of 3.9mt high. We are three minutes walk from Notre Dame Cathedral and in front of Ile- Saint-Louis. In the dining room there is a folding sofa bed with a mattress for daily rest (140x190cm) In the upper bedroom there are twin beds that can be put together for a bed of 160x190. The bed in the bedroom downstairs is of 140x190 cm. The mattress are very comfortable of 21cm heigh in the bedrooms. The mattress in the dining room is thiner but for a comfort of daily rest (size 140x190cm).

We stayed for 6 nights with our daughter and grand-daughter in this lovely apartment. It is very well equipped and the privacy of the 2 bedrooms made a three generation stay very pleasant. American guests who have never been to Paris should expect the rooms to be small as is common in many Parisian apartments. The location was remarkably quiet at night, due to the thickness of the 13th century walls and greatly appreciated. Our hosts were charming and made themselves available to us as needed. The central location is ideal for walking to the Quartier Latin, Notre Dame, Isle St. Louis, the Bazar Hotel de Ville, and with some time, the Eiffel Tower. It is a few blocks from metro stations to reach within 20mn other destinations such as the Opera, Montmartre and department stores. Restaurants abound, as well as grocery stores, bakeries and markets, all within easy walking distance. We enjoyed our daily "petits dejeuners" with a short walk to Le Parisien or Isabelle's, just around the corner on the Blvd. St. Germain, two excellent boulangeries. Do not stay here if you're trying to lose weight! We recommend getting a Navigo card from a metro station for easy movement around this remarkable city. We enjoyed the long walk from Notre Dame to the Eiffel Tower, along the Seine on the left bank, observing the pedestrians, the architecture and river traffic, but you could also take the Batobus, the water taxi, that runs up and down the Seine with multiple hop on, hop off stops.
Highly enjoyed our stay. Charming property on quiet street. Great location providing access to Notre Dame, museums, and great restaurants. Wonderful and friendly hosts who responded quickly to any issues. Early check-in was a nice perk.
Wonderful little flat in the Latin Quarter. Steps away from Notre Dame, Musee de Cluny and La Sorbonne. Very helpful host. All around, great experience.
The hosts are fabulous and tremendously helpful and great communicators. They recommended a great French restaurant near by and we had a fabulous dinner!
We had a wonderful week in Paris!! The location of this apartment is perfect! So close to everything, including lovely cafe’s and restaurants. It was clean, check in and check out were simple. The host was easily accessible and very welcoming and kind. Beds were comfortable. I’m so glad we booked this property for our stay and look forward to returning!! Thank you, Maria - we absolutely loved Paris and your property and cherish the memories we made!
I was thrilled to find this location for my week in Paris. Amazing location, separate rooms and full baths for me and my friend. And it’s on the ground floor, so no stairs. Also, just a block from the metro and very central so we did more walking than training.
To set expectations, everything in Paris is much smaller than you’d expect if you are from the US. The rooms, the beds, showers, tea cups, TV screens. The better the location, the better the chances that things will be cozy.
The hostess was very responsive and pleasant. She called to check on us as we were gathering our baggage at the airport. She wanted to make sure we found the place, understood the keys/door codes, security procedures, etc. Her directions were very thorough and clear so we had no problems. She would have happily come by to greet us and offered local restaurant ideas. All in all, the ideal host.
We were recommended by a friend to stay in the Latin Quarter, so I limited my search to that area. This property was the perfect match! Enough space for 5 adults to sleep comfortably, and was within walking distance of everything we needed (we did not use the metro but there is a metro stop close by). I received timely answers to my questions (as this was our first time in France) and that helped our trip planning immensely. Very thankful for finding this place and will most likely stay here again if we are fortunate enough to go back to Paris in the future!
The flat is a typical small two bedroom that is clean and cozy. We really appreciated the location - easy walk to many sites and the neighborhood felt very safe. Lovely little outdoor market on Wednesdays and a few other days a week. Maria was helpful and recommended a fantastic Thai restaurant right around the block from the flat. Pillows and beds are on the firm side - not for people who require a pillow top mattress.
This apartment was perfect for my 91 year old brother and me. We spent the days walking many streets and neighborhoods of Paris, and would go back to the apartment for a quick rest before heading out to dinner. We loved that it was on the ground floor and didn’t have to carry suitcases up small staircases that are abundant in Paris!
Very clean, great location with lots of restaurants and coffee shops. Very small, but charming. The exterior door to the property was not secure while we were there, but there were workers doing renovations. The door to the apartment was like a vault, we felt very secure. We were a party of four, 2 high school seniors and one set of grandparents.
Maria was a fantastic host. She was very helpful and prompt in her responses. The location is perfect, right down in the middle of the sites. It is a little small but that is expected for the location. Overall we had a great visit and would definitely rent this place again.
My girlfriend and I stayed at this property for a couple of days early Feb. Maria was very pleasant And helpful. The place is very clean and the location is perfect.
We, family of 5, stayed for five days/four nights at the beginning of January 2020 during the metro strike. Great location in a safe neighborhood, within walking distance of major attractions. Were met by host at check-in, explained everything, and he gave us recommendations for restaurants, museums, and sites. The place had everything we needed, though we really only slept, showered and had breakfast at the apartment. I would definitely stay there again.
Maria was excellent and a very caring host. Our arrival was very late as a result of French transportation workers strike. Maria worked with us and made sure we check-in even-though we would be checking in at 2:30 in the morning. The apartment was just as described and very welcoming and homey. We enjoyed every day. The location is perfect for shopping and site-seeing. You walk out the front door of the building and turn to the left and there is the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris and the river. The apartment is on the ground floor with one bedroom down 3 steps and the other bedroom up about 10 steps. Having 2 bathrooms with daughters made my life less stressful. We loved it and will be back. My wife is already working on another trip.
This place and location is amazing! It is right next to the Siene River, Notre Dame, and many restaurants and shops. We were able to travel via batobus to the Eiffel Tower and Louvre Museum while enjoying a nice ride along the river. Highly recommend staying at this place.
The location of this flat was ideal for our first trip to Paris. No more than 250 yards before you arrive at Notre Dame! Easy walk to Ile St. Louis and Metro station too. First floor flat so no narrow steps to climb with luggage. Plenty of dining options nearby including a great restaurant recommended by the owner Maria. Although small, the two bedrooms worked fine for two couples sharing this flat. Towels provided were better than usual. Maria was easy to deal with and made sure someone was there to meet us at check in. Have no problem recommending this flat for a good place to start and end your day.
We were two couples traveling. The apartment layout allows for privacy and a comfortable common area for us all. The location on the left bank was convenient to the metro line and one of the train stations as well as to restaurants and Notre Dame. Access was no problem. The apartment was clean. We were welcomed in person who explained how everything worked and answered our questions.
We enjoyed our stay here! It is in a great location - steps away from Notre Dame, close to metro and RER and a 15 minute walk to rue de Rivoli and Hôtel de Ville. We loved the Batobus. It is a great way to see Paris on La Seine. The Notre Dame stop is only a couple of minutes away. The boulangerie, La Parisienne, on St Germain is on the corner and delicious! The apartment is small but we didn't spend too much time there. It is well equipped but not a great place to hang out. But, Paris keeps one busy! We were a group of 5 - 3 adults and 2 kids. The bedrooms were quiet but sleeping on the futon in the living area was difficult due to the street noise. So, I would recommend this for no more than 4 people. Overall, a good stay!

Why they chose this property
You will live the experience of being in the oldest part of the city, where the architecture is full of history. We choose this place because of its special "soul" as it belonged to the gothic Bernardins College of the 13th century. The high volume and its old stones magnified in the living room remind us the history of the place.
What makes this property unique
The flat has two bedrooms with two bathrooms. The guests sleeping in the living room (on folding sofa bed ) has access to the downstairs (two steps down from living room level) bathroom without disturbing people sleeping in the downstairs bedroom.
