Lyon Court - The Old Stable - Wooden Cabin (sleeps 3), with Pool

Lyon Court is a beautiful country house in a lovely countryside setting, tastefully converted into individual apartments. It overlooks Shanklin Down, yet is close to bus & train routes, and only 10 minutes walk to the town centre or Shanklin Old Village. The beach is a further 5 minutes walk.

The Old Stable is (as the name suggests) a stable converted into a studio apartment. Set in the secluded gardens of Lyon Court, it benefits from its own discrete south facing patio. The kitchen is fully equipped with a full sized oven and hob, a vintage Bosch fridge freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, with ample cupboard space, pots, pans, utensils, crockery and cutlery.

The living area is well designed for either a couple, a couple with a child, or a parent with two children, There is a comfy day bed that is dressed as a sofa for couples, or otherwise made up as a single bed. There is also a comfy double bed and a dining table for 3.

A 28" Smart TV is installed that is connected to our satellite system which is Netflix/Amazon ready.

There is a fan heater should it get a bit chilly in the Autumn evenings.

A wireless access point has also been installed, giving a fast wifi connection throughout the whole apartment and on the terrace.

A cot can also be accommodated, but the maximum occupancy must not exceed 3.

You will have access to all of the facilities at Lyon Court including a large, heated outdoor pool (open from the late May bank holiday weekend to the last week of September), a large terrace with electric BBQ, available May to September, on site launderette and extensive landscaped gardens.
We can also arrange babysitting for you, please ask for more details.

We aim to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Beds are made up before your arrival, and we provide a welcome tray and under-sink items.

If booking for 7 or more nights a towel set per person is included in the cost of your holiday. If your stay is less than 7 nights, towels sets are available, £5 per person and will need to be booked in advance.

Osborne House and Shanklin Old Village are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Pirates Cove - Shanklin and Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary. Sandown Pier and Isle of Wight Owl and Falconry Centre are also worth visiting. Jet skiing and scuba diving offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with horse riding and ecotours nearby.

Perfect holiday accommodation and lovely hosts. Clean, comfortable and great location..

Absolutely wonderful. We stayed in the Old Stable which was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The owners, Dan and Bec were fantastic, friendly and very helpful with a great knowledge of places to go and eat. The pool was absolutely perfect, set in a beautifully maintained garden. We will definitely return. We highly recommend Lyon Court as a great location and holiday in the Isle of Wight.

Great place to stay & very private in the stable flat

Loved our experience.Would loved to have stayed longer & made use of the heated swimming pool. Hopefully the hot tub will be available next time,Covid permitting.

Charming and spotless - perfect

We had a wonderful time in the stable which had a lovely rustic french chalet feel to it. Well equipped and spotless inside with a comfy large bed and peaceful surroundings. The pool was delightful in the afternoon after a long bike ride. Ideal for cyclists. Would definitely return.

The old stables

The old stables was a pleasant place to say with pretty much all the equipment you would need. Property was very clean. The owners are a lovely couple and will go the extra mile.

Most enjoyable

We found the Old Stables at Lyon Court to be the perfect choice for our 4 night break away from it all. Situated within beautifully wooded and tranquil grounds, we enjoyed swimming in the heated, crystal clear pool. Nearby is a delightful Wendy House that any child would find irresistible. Along with our cosy, bijou accommodation, we had our own hot tub to relax in. The hosts were extremely kind and hospitable, even going to the lengths of providing a birthday cake, balloon and a special rendition of Happy Birthday! We would highly recommend staying at Lyon Court, Shanklin and look forward to returning to this very special place.
