Great place

45 minutes from the Ark encounter. We incorrectly thought that the creation museum was in the same location as the Ark. The house was clean and well stocked. Nice neighborhood. Also, get groceries before coming. There are no stores on this side of river.

Cozy and complete

All the amenities you need in a cozy, comfortable setting. We walked to the river one morning and sat in a swing overlooking the river. Convenient location to the museum and not far from the ark. Great stay!

Nice comfortable home in a quaint town

Nice comfortable home in a quaint town. We enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room. Great amenities. The town is small but a nice place to walk. The home is right near the Ohio River. Beautiful view. Furniture is a little older and not the most comfortable for sitting. That's about the only needed improvement.

Comfy, Quiet, & Well Supplied

My parents, my sister, and I found this home to be just what we needed during our 4 night stay. There was plenty of living space, yard space, quiet streets to walk, and so many extras that we appreciated. The beds were comfortable, hangers were in the closet, shampoo & body wash in the shower, plenty of pots, pans, and kitchen appliances along with common spices/seasonings, games, & movies. If we had occasion to revisit the area, I wouldn’t hesitate one bit to stay here again. It was lovely.

Exceptional home

We are considered a big family in societies view 2 adults and 6 children. For a 2 bedroom 1 bath home the layout of the home helped our family feel right at home with plenty of room for all of us. It felt like home away from home for us all. Had everything we needed. And it was so close to the Creation Museum which is one of the reasons we picked this home. The roads are a bit of a challenge with the steepness and curves. But as long as you take it slow and steady you will be fine.

Quiet and clean place to stay

We had a great stay in Petersburg. Nice and close to the Creation Museum. Also visited Lawrenceburg across the river to walk the trail and eat at Riverwatch. Would definitely stay here again.

Quiet and peaceful

The kids enjoyed the lake, play area down the road and talking with neighbor children. The adults enjoyed the peace and quiet. Went to museums and enjoyed the ability to come back relax and cook a well balanced meal for the family. Multiple tvs so everyone could watch what they wanted however this trip no television was needed. The kids were enjoying the outdoors. Thanks for a great place to stay.

Great Little Vacation House

We stayed here for a couple days while we went to the Ark Enounter and Creation Museum. The house was very clean and had plenty of room for me, my husband, and our 4 kids! It’s located in a little quiet town. We enjoyed walking down to the Ohio River to collect seashells and watch the sunsets! The house was well equipped with kitchen items and a TV in each room if that’s your thing. We also enjoyed sitting on the front porch in the mornings and evenings. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend!

Friendly and Accommodating

This was our second stay. The house itself feels very homey and there are all the kitchen gadgets to make cooking easy. Any concerns I had, the hosts helped in a reasonable way. I hope others enjoy this home while on vacation!

Clean & very well appointed

Description is very accurate. Very comfortable. Controlling shower temperature was a little different. Turning water off is not all the way to one side as would be expected. It's necessary to turn knob toward a more central position. Adjusting temperature requires similar hunting but once understood works fine.

Close to Creation Museum

This house was the perfect place for my family to stay while visiting the ark and creation museums. The creation museum is very close by. The house is in a quiet neighborhood- just as the listing described. All the basic supplies you need are supplied at the house. My 10 year old daughter loves dolls- she was delighted to have a booster seat available for her "baby" to sit at the table with us. The dishwasher and washer and dryer were a big plus for us. There is even an air fryer we were able to use for chicken nuggets. You can tell they have really thought about making your stay easier and more enjoyable. The infomation provided by the owners was all accurate and helpful. While it is not a complaint about the house or the owners, if you are planning to stay here, just know that the library in the neighborhood is closed. Also the little store/restaurant only sells the very most basic supplies. They do sell eggs, which was nice.

The BEST home away from home!

Fresh and clean beautiful property. Beds were so comfortable- even the fold out couch bed. Great washer /dryer. Loved sitting on front porch. Very safe- quite neighborhood. Easy to find. Loved the area!! Truly a home away from home. Anything and everything we needed was there. Creation Museum ten minutes away and ARK about 50 minutes away / and reason for our trip. Our vacation was wonderful. We would do it all again including this country vacation home!!!! Homeowners were informative and thought of everything you might need— night lights in each room so ya don’t stumble in the night! You guys are the BEST! Thanks for sharing your home with us.

Very clean cute home

This was a perfect spot to stay our ski trip. It was a short getaway trip for my twin sons and me. They are graduating this year and are off to college soon so trying to get in as much time as possible. We had a great time! Thank you!

Great Location for Creation Museum

We enjoyed our stay and would be interested in returning. The value is great and the host was very responsive and kind (one of my big factors I consider when staying VRBO). We stayed for five nights. Wonderful Attributes: -Beds and sheets were very comfortable -Shower was hot and strong; bath was large for the kiddos -Quiet neighborhood; we felt very safe -Near the river -Items we needs and wanted (laundry detergent, cleaners, games) were easy to find -Very nice welcome folder -Washer/dryer and fridge were exceptional! -Lots of pillows and extra blankets. -We appreciated the crock pot liner -Friendly, well attentive host! Some items to consider: -We would have prefered a place to put items on in the master bedroom. Because we were there several days, it was difficult not having a dresser or larger night stands to use. -We are not typically a family that needs air filters/humidifiers. However, we were having difficulty finding a good balance with the heating system, especially in the middle of the night. The air would often be very dry. We will bring diffusers, which will solve our problem, if we return. -Could not find a cutting board. -We would have loved a removable shower head. -Like the host mentioned, there is nothing in the way of food, gas, or grocery at the exit, so plan accordingly. We took a short 1 mile ride, 25 minutes HAHAHAHA, over the bridge to Indiana for the Aldi and Dollar Tree. Overall, this was a great place for our family of five on vacation. We had a wonderful family vacation and this house contributed to it. We loved the Creation Museum and would love to visit again. Thank you for everything!!!!!

We can easily help you out with any of your needs or questions. We reside in the “Berkshire house” which was constructed around 1928 form the Brick of the old distillery building. Dan’s family has lived in Petersburg for 5 generations, so needless to say we are vested in our community. When traveling ourselves, we often stay in a vacation rental.
