Il Casale Dei Poeti (Scopello)

Casale dei Poeti is a charming and ancient country house, dating back to the first half of the 1900s, located in a quiet and peaceful area, in a dominant position on the Pianoro Livrere -, an area that ends overlooking the Grotticelli district in Scopello. Built in local stone, it has been completely restored reusing old materials and maintaining its original architectural structure, equipped with all modern comforts. The property is surrounded by more than 22,000 square meters of land and is located in an area of great landscape value. The whole area guarantees maximum privacy. The choice of the name "Casale dei Poeti" was dictated by the quiet and isolated places that stimulate reflection and harmony, where the visitor can refresh himself with splendid walks, in the splendid scenery of the Sicilian countryside, natural places that lend themselves as meeting place for intellectual writers and artists.

Ideal home for summer vacationers it has a perfect location for exploring the beautiful landscape of western Sicily. A few kilometers from Castellammare del Golfo, medieval Erice, to the historic centers of Trapani and Marsala, from the cellars and salt pans with their ancient windmills to the temples of Segesta and Selinunte, to the Egadi islands. In the vicinity of Baida Castle, (1 Km approx), a medieval fortress rebuilt in the 14th century on the ruins of an ancient Arab settlement known as Bayd, with a commemorative stele for the visit of King Ferdinand from the house of Bourbon in 1801, on the entrance arch. Close to the village and the picturesque stacks of Scopello where there is the ancient tuna fishing port, the wonderful bay of Guidaloca, the Zingaro natural reserve with its clear, blue bays and its pristine Mediterranean flora and fauna. Near the Castle of Baida, there is a dairy where in the morning you can find fresh milk, fresh ricotta and other cheeses, about 800 m there is a pizzeria / restaurant and in the village of Balata di Baida there are bars and post office. Boat trips along the coast and promenade highly recommended.

The farmhouse, with independent access and avenue, has a large natural garden among white rocks and a beautiful private illuminated swimming pool, with deck chairs and sun umbrellas. There are also several relaxation areas and outdoor dining tables for pleasant outdoor meals, shower areas, barbeque and access square located in front of the house; From each side of the building it is possible to enjoy a breathtaking panorama: from the imposing chain of Mountains, to the tower of Scopello, from the Zingaro Reserve to the Gulf of Castellammare, up to the distant view of the tip of the city of Palermo.

At guests' disposal, moreover, panoramic terraces ideal for outdoor living, an outdoor dining table (sheltered by a wooden pergola) and the barbecue, for pleasant and tasty outdoor meals, all enriched by characteristic corners in local stone.
The welcoming, bright and well-proportioned interior has been tastefully furnished and is equipped with all modern comforts (washing machine, dryer, air conditioning, satellite TV, Wi-Fi). Large approx. 210.

The completely restored "Casale dei Poeti" consists of the main building (on 2 floors and divided into two wings "A and" B "and the swimming pool. The whole property can accommodate up to 12 people, for a total of 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
Ground floor: The ground floor, very large, is dedicated to the living area and consists of a large common room, light colored with direct access to the garden, thanks to its French chestnut and glass door. The living room has a dining room area with a beautiful solid briar wood table, (for 12 people) a comfortable sofa (which can be transformed into a sofa bed if necessary, capacity for a half square) and all the most modern comforts (flat screen TV). Following a delicious modern steel kitchen, decorated with hand-crafted local marble (whose colors are reminiscent of local fauna and flora) and fully equipped (with table, oven, hob, fridge, and toaster). In the east area, with entrance from the hallway, located in the kitchen, we find a shared bathroom covered in rough travertine. All the floors are in a wonderful rare local Sicilian marble, enriched by some decorative writings handmade by a Sicilian craftsman. In the west area we find the only bedroom on the ground floor, called Gabriele D'Annunzio, with a modern and sober double bed, furnished with a comfortable wardrobe, a single bed and a private bathroom, covered in rough travertine and direct access on the garden. First floor: An iron staircase leads to the upper floor (wing A) consisting of three bedrooms, all characterized by exposed wooden beams on the roof. The first room, named Giacomo Leopardi and from his poetry, has a double bed and has a small balcony overlooking the sea, the swimming pool and the countryside. The second bedroom, called Giovanni Pascoli has a double bed with brown cushions, and also has a balcony overlooking the sea, the swimming pool and the countryside.

The third bedroom of wing "A" on the first floor, called Giuseppe Ungaretti, is with two beds, with light furnishings and a window that protrudes over the mountains, if necessary the two beds can be made up to form a double bed.

Along the corridor in front of the Giacomo Leopardi room, we find a complete shared bathroom between the rooms of wing "A" on the first floor, covered in marble and equipped with a beautiful stone sink, and a shower.

From another iron staircase you can access the last 5th bedroom, Wing "B", called Andrea Camilleri, with a modern double bed, furnished with a comfortable wardrobe, a single bed and a private bathroom, covered in rough travertine and a nice balcony with and breathtaking view of the sea and the swimming pool.
