About this property

Coastguard Cottage with panoramic sea views.

One of two beautifully renovated Coastguard Cottages completed in July 2017 to a high standard. Situated within a stones throw of Southbourne Beach with panoramic sea views from all bedrooms.

Each Cottage has 2 double bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has either a king size bed or twin beds, stunning sea and garden views and en-suite shower room.

Bedroom 2 is on the 2nd floor with restrictive head height, although absolutely fine for adults, double bed and stunning panoramic views from Old Harry Rocks to The Needles & Isle of Wight.

There is also a family bathroom with overhead shower.

Downstairs there is a large open plan living area, with large sofabed, dining for 6 and fully integrated kitchen with, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven/hob, microwave & toaster. There is also a utility area with washer/dryer.

The front of the property has beautifully designed and now fully enclosed, dog and child safe gardens, decking with seating, a hot tub and off road parking. The rear of the Cottage has another decked area which catches the evening sun, along with BBQ area, bike storage etc.

The Cottages are a short walk to Hengistbury Head with its visitors centre and land train to Mudeford Spit, a lovely day out for the family. Historic Christchurch is very close by with its Ancient Priory, Castle, river walks, Quay with Quamps Splash Park for the little ones (free), boat & ferry rides and abundance of restaurants, bars & shops.

Southbourne is a short walk away with shops, supermarkets, restaurants & bars. Also we have The New Forest 10 minutes away with its beautiful villages, county pubs, New Forest Ponies and wild donkeys.

Bournemouth Town Centre is a 10 minute drive.

We will provide everything you need for your holiday, from towels & beach towels, hair dryer to high chairs and travel cots.

Great little place!

Damian was a great host and very responsive! The place is lovely and we super enjoyed sleeping in the loft with the stars right above - even saw a shooting star one night :-) Would stay again and highly recommend!

Paper thin walls

When you can hear the chap next door snoring through the night, its not a great start to your holiday. We could hear everything going on next door, and they us, which I am sure is not ideal for either party. The key safe is almost at floor level so you have to get down on your hands and knees to key in the code, and as I am 75 it required some careful manoeuvring. The location is lovely and right next door to some lovely dog friendly beaches. On first arrival, the house seems quite well decorated but on closer inspection, everything is looking a little bit tired with warped door thresholds and skirting boards, paint chips etc.. I see the house is on the market so maybe the owners don't want to bother much with it anymore, but if it were mine I would definitely soundproof the adjoining walls.

Super location

At 50 yards from the beach this was the perfect location for our family of 3 and dog. Very close to a cool little beach bar too which serves good street food and overlooks the sea , ideal for a cheap lunch and cocktail. Excellent kitchen facilities at the house and the Hot tub was a big plus. Garden was nice and secure for our dog to wander about and it’s nice and quiet at night so along with the fact you can open the back door and have the sand in your toes within 2 mins means it perfect for a short break - highly recommend 👌

Lovely location, great for the dog.

2 minute walk to beach via slope no steps. Dog friendly beach cafe 6 min walk. Loved the hot tub, all very clean.

Perfect stay

Location is amazing, 50 yds to the promenade in Southbourne, easy parking and easy key arrangement. The cottage was beautifully presented, perfectly clean and had all the facilities you could want for a break. Damian was really helpful with local knowledge as we were on a mission with our visit and needed some help. We will stay again if we find ourselves down this way again. Thank you

Best location

Had an amazing week here. The property is immaculate and much better equipped than the website shows i .e. there us a coffee maker, Sky movies channels via a Now box. The location right next to the beach is incredible. Couple if minutes walk to a sandy beach with toilets and food too.

Perfect weekend!

We loved the cottage and it's beautiful location right by the sea. Wonderful for walking and watching the sunset. The cottage was decorated with lovely touches, it had everything we needed and the beds were very comfortable. We would have loved the stay longer!

Great stay, although the property has not got a secure back garden for kids

Thank you had a lovely stay, immaculate and everything you need. Only thing that would stop me coming back is the garden. Not very private as there is no divider between the property next door . I wouldn't feel comfortable sitting in the back garden on a summers day as it is communal. It would benefit from some trellis to divide the gardens and a gate for security.Also there is a washer dryer at the property, washing machine ok although the door broke and the dryer was terrible not great for a family of 5 in the winter.

Beautiful!

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at Damian's beautiful house in September. There was everything we needed in the house and perfect for a break away from work to chill out, walk along the beach and explore Bournemouth and it's surrounding area's. We even lucky enough to have glorious sunshine! We will definitely be back and looking forward to seeing you all again. Thank you!

Perfect holiday home!

Damian and his wife could not have been more welcoming hosts. They met us with the key at the property (they live next door) and we were instantly impressed with the property. Ground floor is made up of a small kitchen with a fair sized living room with a dining table and highchair if needed. There is a king sized sofa bed in the living room also. The first floor is made up of a bedroom with en-suite shower room and can either be a king sized bed or two singles, a family bathroom is also on the first floor. The second floor is a double bedroom in the loft room. Everything was spotless and we were delighted to find fresh flowers, chocolates and wine waiting for us! The highlight of the holiday was the rainforest shower - it's absolute heaven and I could happily have stayed in there four hours. The garden is beautiful and there is a parking space right outside. I would highlight that the stairs to all floors are very steep so not suitable for the elderly or those who are a little unsure on their feet. Thank you for having us it was lovely to stay in your beautiful home.
