Imagine spending your days exploring the breath-taking beauty of the wild, rugged landscape of West Cornwall, walking to Lands’ End or Zennor. Balance that with lazy days on nearby sandy beaches, such as Sennen or Porthcurno or find a lesser-known cove, such as Porth Nanven or Nanjizel, sunbathing and riding the waves. Returning to a clean, comfortable and stylish Cornish cottage where you can kick back and unwind, with a glass of something in the private garden. Then head out to St Just, Mousehole or St Ives for dinner to sample the vibrant Cornish culinary scene. If this is your idea of a perfect Cornish holiday, then Porth Nanven Cottage is your ideal choice.

Accommodation
The cottage is snuggled tightly into the hillside and is approached down a track in magical Cot Valley, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Located in the far west of Cornwall between Cape Cornwall and Lands’ End, the valley stretches down to the sea and Porth Nanven Cove which is sandy at low tide. The market town of St Just is nearby with a selection of independent shops, a small co-op, butcher, veg shop, moomaid ice cream and coffee shop and a number of good pubs. If you need a larger supermarket, the historic coastal harbour of Penzance is 15 minutes away.

You enter the cottage up a path from the parking space, the front door is along the side of the property opening into a small hallway with hooks for coats. To the left is the newly installed kitchen, with plenty of cupboard space, large range cooker with ceramic hob, washing machine, dishwasher, large retro style fridge / freezer and microwave. The kitchen leads through to the spacious, open plan, triple aspect living and dining area, there are large windows looking out over the valley and French doors leading out to one part of the garden; the result, a bright and airy space with views over the garden. At one end of the room is a large comfortable sofa, coffee table and a smart TV, in the dining area there is a further sofa, armchair, small dining table and two benches. An ideal room for relaxing after a strenuous coastal walk or surfing at nearby Sennen Beach! On the other side of the cottage are two double bedrooms; the master has a comfortable super king bed and ensuite shower room with basin, shower and WC. The second bedroom has a double bed, cupboard and chest of drawers; both rooms are adorned with crisp white bed linen. There is a separate family bathroom with bath and shower over basin, towel rail and WC. You will find painted wooden floorboards and beautifully decorated rooms throughout the cottage.

There is space to park one car at the front of the property and the ability to park a second car by arrangement if required. To the front of the property is a gravelled area with garden table and chairs and a charcoal BBQ. There is a further garden area to the side of the property with patio directly outside the living room, the remainder laid to lawn and abundant flowerbeds. There are footpaths directly outside the cottage leading onto the coastal path and down to the sea, Porth Nanven House is next door, where the owners Emily and Alex live, but the cottage remains private with a secluded garden; perfect for couples or a small family.

Cot valley is absolute heaven for dogs with abundant footpaths, a stream leading down to the cove and footpaths in every direction; so we encourage all dog-owners to bring their beloved pets on holiday with them, they will thank you for it!

The changeover day is a Friday in peak season. Off season is more flexible - do get in contact if you cannot find your ideal dates and I will try to help.

Lovely stay in Cot Valley
This place is wonderful - quiet, beautiful, clean and close to the sea. The cottage was very comfortable with a stunning kitchen and top notch bedding. We loved St. Just and the surrounding area and my husband even won the local half marathon. Everybody we met was helpful and friendly - special thanks to Phay for excellent communication throughout. I could not recommend this place more highly - thank you!

Gorgeous Cottage Getaway
Brilliant location, just right for our party and little dog, with gorgeous views and surrounding walks. Only a stone’s throw from the sea further down the valley, I would recommend this property to anyone wishing to get away from it all!

Cute cottage close to the beach
The cottage is well equipped, comfy and has a garden, which adds space at least when the weather allows. It’s very quiet and super located for walks to the beach (10 minutes) and along the coastal path.

Ideal spot for a relaxing stay
If you want to get away from it all this is the place to come. Located in a beautiful valley with only the birds & the stream to listen to it is a place made for relaxation. Nearby St Just provides all the amenities you need and there are plenty of walks to go on that surround the cottage. The cottage is well furnished and with some added luxuries to make a very comfortable temporary 'home'

Heavenly cottage in magical Cot Valley!
The cottage nestles into the hillside and is a wonderful flowing space with two very comfortable bedrooms. We had a wonderful time here, two sisters who love to draw, photograph, walk and explore. The cottage was spotless, Phay the manager very helpful, and Emily the owner in the big house very welcoming. We will definitely be back! Thank you for a marvellous stay.

Cosy cottage
We found the cottage to be quiet, cosy and well stocked in a great location for walking the coast. We didn't enjoy the drive from St Just to the cottage though as it is mostly a single track very narrow lane for about a mile where the shrubbery scratched our car on both sides. The unmade track from the lane to the cottage is also not great for all cars.

Perfect Setting
This lovely cottage is in such a beautiful spot just a 10 minute stroll from Porth Nenvan Cove. We recommend the sunset when the tide is out, we took some lovely photos of it. The dog had the best time too. Highly recommended. Thankyou. Sally xx

A great place to chillax!
We spent a week in the cottage with another couple and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. It is situated at the end of some narrow lanes and quite secluded. We did a couple of long coastal walks around the area, including Cape Cornwall and then on to Bottallack of Poldark fame. All places to see are quite close at the pointy end of Cornwall too! The property provided a very good 'book' explaining how everything worked in the cottage and what was available nearby in St Just. It also listed places to visit and recommended restaurants - very helpful. Note that there is no mobile reception in the cottage, but there is a good broadband connection so you won't have to put up with social media disconnects unless you want to. The only - very slight - problem is the size of the second bedroom which is quite small. We got there first so got the first bedroom which was very roomy, and has an en-suite - so do the same if sharing! (-;?

Punktet mit traumhafter Lage
Traumhafter Wanderweg beginnt direkt hinter dem Haus. Ruhige, einsame Lage.

Etwas ausserhalb des kleinen Ortes St.Just.

Perfect week in perfect location
From the moment we arrived at Porth Nanven Cottage, we know that we were in for a treat. Any property that is 10 mins from Nanven beach is a winner, with it's incredible, dramatic yet beautiful coastline. The house is wonderfully calm and the lounge/conservatory has lovely light, and warmth. The kitchen has everything you might need (we cook every day), and the bedrooms are cosy and welcoming. A lovely hamper greeted us, as well as the bird life and you MUST see the stars at night.

Beautiful location and very comfy
I consider my self a holiday cottage connaiseur (i.e bit fussy) and cannot fault this property. It is in a lovely out of the way spot down a track which made it very peaceful but easy reach of St Just which has everything you need in way of shops, food etc. Really nicely furnished and lots ofextra little touches like plenty of plates, loo rolls etc. Really appreciated excellent welcome pack which I always thinks sets the tone for a good stay. Perfect spot to do lots of walking without getting car out.

A real home, away from home!
When we arrived it was already very dark and in the middle of a horrific rainstorm we found our way to the cottage thanks to excellent route info. The next morning we had rain but that was it for the rest of our two weeks. We absolutely loved the cottage, the valley and the village (pub & restaurants). It was always a pleasure to come home after a long walk with our dog and experience the absolute tranquility of the valley and the superb comfort of the cottage. We will come back for sure! Lia, Ruud and Rose the dog.

A beautiful and well comfortable cottage
This is a beautifully and well appointed cottage. We are very keen walkers and couldn't have asked for more, as the cottage is directly on the South West Coast Path and about a quarter of a mile from a lovely cove. The beds were amazingly comfortable and after a long day walking with our dog, it was lovely to wallow in the bath and then sleep in the total darkness and tranquillity of the Cot Valley. The place really felt like a "home from home" and we will certainly return next time we visit this part of Cornwall.

A coastal retreat
A fantastic place to stay close to all the coastal walks and the pretty town of St Just - If you don't want to drive anywhere the town is a short walk away with great bus links to Penzance and the rest of cornwall.

Home away from home in a perfect location
It was our second stay in this location and , once again, a perfect one! We arrived after a 14 hour trip from Germany and were happy to find the ingredients for a Cornish Cream Tea (BIG FAN!!) in the welcome basket! The cottage is luxurious equiped, very comfy and , as we say in Germany, gemütlich. The location is perfect for us, as we love to walk on the SWCP. Our dog loves the secluded garden to chew on his bones in the sun. The quiet environment in Cot valley is perfect to relax and to let your mind wander. And the Cape with romantic sunsets is a 10 minute walk away. But nothing is really far away (Cape Cornwall, Sennen Cove...). And as a photographer the stunning views along the coast are amazing!!! We stayed for two weeks and had a perfect vacation home away from home! Thanks a lot, we want to come back next year:-)

An absolute gem of a cottage -perfect!
What's not to love about this delightful little cottage at the end of a lane leading right to what feels like your own private Cornish beach! We stayed at the cottage for a week with our dog who loved not having to be on a lead for his walks. We were blessed with fantastic weather so enjoyed lots of walks along the coastal path and days trips out to explore Cornwall. The cottage itself is private, clean, well equipped and ideal for a relaxing break. The interior is lovely and the beds are far too comfy to get out of in a morning! The kitchen has everything you need to cook at home and there is a BBQ in the garden which we took advantage of. The garden is lovely and also very private. It is around a 20 minute walk from the centre of St Just to the cottage so we did drive for most of our trips to the pubs or shops but there is plenty of free parking. St Just itself is a small but very nice village with dog friendly pubs and great cafe/delis. The co-op is open late every night and there is a very good butchers and veg shop as well as a Chinese takeaway and fish and chip shop. The beach is about half a mile from the cottage down a footpath. It is well worth a visit at low tide when you can walk on the sand we had some stunning sunsets throughout the week. Sennen Cove is a gorgeous sandy beach around a 2 hour walk down the coastal path and also very much worth a visit. I cannot recommend this cottage enough for style, tranquility and location. The welcome basket of cream tea was the icing on the cake. Just perfect!

Peaceful setting for a lovely cottage
We had a great week in this lovely cottage. It is well equipped and very comfortable. Excellent quality bed linen and furnishings. We really appreciated the welcome basket of food and wine. Having the coastal path on the door step meant our young Springer Spaniel could be 'leadless' for our many daily walks! The walk to Cape Cornwall was particularly memorable as the weather was sunny and warm, the views are spectacular, very much a 'WOW' around each corner! St Just although small has everything you might need for a weeks holiday in terms of food and drink. Thank you again Trish, Dave and Paddy
