We rented last minute for an end of summer little getaway. The house location was very peaceful and the lake was located right cross the street. It was perfect for our young kids and the house had everything needed to enjoy our stay. The owner was very prompt with communication and accommodating with everything. Definitely recommend!
This was a great property with a lake view. Having a bathroom on each floor was great for the amount of people we had. Check In & Out was a breeze. Owner was very responsive. Will be interested in booking this location again in the future.

Great location! Lots of space!
My family and extended family were very happy with the location and the house! Lots of things to do! The Holmgren family was wonderful. Annette was on top of her emails and answered every one in a timely manner! My family and I left feeling like we were a part of her family as well! :-) We can’t wait to return to Caroga Lake! This house was perfect for ALL of our needs! We have a 17 year old with Aspergers and it was nice to be close enough to let her stay back a draw and enjoy her day watching videos while we kayaked. We were able to pop in now and then and checkin on her! We were only there for 3 days but it felt like a week! Thank you! Oh, something that no one mentioned... there is a pop up farmers market on Fridays almost in your front yard that was amazing!

Pretty nice cabin close to the lake
Overall we had a very nice stay at the house. There are lot of toys for children as well as items for adults to use during their visit. It's right across the street from the lake and a private beach you have access to. The rooms were as described and the amenities, with a couple exceptions, were also as described and nice.
The only issues we had were regarding the initial cleanliness and a few items missing.
-The main problem was that the cleaning fee, according to the in house instructions, only provides for linen washing and vacuuming. Mopping up the floors and wiping down the counters is apparently left up to the guests when they leave. The crew that was there before us was there for a month, and clearly hadn't cleaned at all. The kitchen floor was gray with dirt, the counters were sticky and the sink had food crusted in it. We spent the better part of the first day cleaning the place down. The owner was very apologetic but didn't really make an effort to address it, either financially or by sending a cleaner over to remedy the issue.
-There were no linens or extra blankets to outfit the air mattress, so we had to run out and buy them the first day. The owner did offer to reimburse us for them.
-There is a dishwasher in the house, but the instructions ask you not to use it for some reason, so I'm not sure why it's listed as an amenity.
-In addition to not being able to use the dishwasher, there is no drying rack and only two dish towels, so it made keeping up with the dishes an issue. We also went out and bought a drying rack and just left it there.
Overall our visit was nice, the furniture was comfortable and the location is great. As long as the prior guests were conscientious it should be a fine place to stay.

About the host
Hosted by The Holmgren Family
We are new to the lake life however we have been coming up here for the last year before we purchased. We love it and our kids love it! So much to do. It is a great way to relax and spend time together.
Why they chose this property
We just could not get over the soothing views from this home.
What makes this property unique
We love this house over others because we have a second bath and a washer and dryer. Three kids, enough said.
