"The Wharf House has best views in Provincetown, no question."
The best thing about the Wharf House (the Flag House) is that at high tide, the house and its huge deck are not only surrounded on three sides by water but the water also swooshes underneath the house. There's no place like it. As Mary Oliver wrote, "eventually tides will be the only calendar you believe in." Windows surround the first and second floors so that you're never separated from the outdoors and the spectacular views of Long Point, the lighthouse, the Coast Guard pier, and the harbor. The 2018 renovation included new floors, new paint, new kitchen, and new bathrooms upstairs and down. The cottage walls are filled with the work of local artists. The spacious first floor includes a galley kitchen with high-end appliances, a living room that opens directly to the new deck, and a bathroom with soaking tub. The entire second floor is dedicated to the master bedroom and en suite bath with exposed beams, cathedral ceiling, and skylights. You can practically roll out of bed and land at the Relish bakery/café. To get into town, it's a delightful 15-minute walk. The Wharf House is vintage Provincetown with the added bonus of parking for 2 cars.
