Lovely property!
This property was very comfortable and centrally located in the village and only a block away from the Dordogne river. The host, Sharyn, made sure the vrbo was well stocked with everything you could possibly need. It was a perfect getaway from Paris.

Great central location
Sharyn was such a wonderful host. She was so accommodating and provided everything one could possibly need for a comfortable stay. The house is in a great location. Parking is not a problem. It’s close to restaurants and shopping and steps away from the Saturday open market. We would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful!
This is such a beautiful property - a real gem!. It has everything you could possibly need for a very comfortable stay right in the heart of the town. We absolutely loved it! The additional small touches of leaving essential supplies of milk and butter in the fridge for our arrival showed what a great, considerate host Sharyn is.

Excellent location with good facilities
We had not explored Sainte Foy La Grande before. We were delighted by the market, choice of restaurants and the proximity of the local cafe. Sharyn’s property was spotlessly clean and comfortably accommodated our needs. It is on a very picturesque street with the Dordogne river close by. Many thanks.

Perfect location
The house was very comfortable and it’s location was perfect. Parking was easy. Don’t miss the Saturday market. As Americans we especially appreciated having top sheets on the bed. Sharyn was a pleasure to work with.

Sweet 1st holidays in family - Perfect
What a wonderful stay in Sharyn and Steve’s House ❤️ The description and photos are the same as reality : well decorated, perfectly equipped and cocooning. The house is very close from the Dordogne, only 30secondes, the village is animated (big market on Saturday, shops, town hall and night market on Tuesday night : during August) And lots of cities to visit and things to do : Sarlat, Eymet, Saint-Emilion, Monpazier, Beynac-et-Cazenac, La roque Gageac// paddle, canoe, boat, walk, swim : you will not get bored! And Sharyn did all her best to make us feel comfortably: steels and towels were changed every friday, dusbin putted out every wednesday, butter and fresh milk in the fridge the 1st day : So RARE attentions! The host, Sharyn is a really kind person and she will make her best to make you feel like in your own home 💝 If we can, we will get back with pleasure!! Thank you so much Sharyn Baby Raphael, Guillaume and Lucia

Great home base in western end of Dordogne region.
Outstanding renovation of a very old building. The outside appearance will give you pause but everything inside is clean and modern. The amenities provided by the host are absolutely best in class. Parking is free and plentiful in front of the apartment.

A beautifully renovated cottage in the centre of this historic town. Everything you could want in a gite except perhaps some outdoor space. Tastefully furnished and with blindingly fast WiFi, we will return.

Mooie woning in het centrum.
Heerlijke wandelvakantie gehad.

About the host

Hosted by Sharyn Hall

Host profile image
Sharyn and Steven Hall moved to France in November 2015 with their dog Claude.
"We left our Australian home of 25 years in the Queensland countryside, where we grew bananas + other tropical fruits, made gourmet dog treats, furniture and retail shop fittings, as well as public art, sculpture and paintings.

We chose Sainte Foy La Grande for its wonderful 'nearness' to daily life. After having to drive 15 minutes for a loaf of bread for so many years, we were determined to live in a place where we could walk to everything we needed and if we couldn’t walk, take the train! Sainte Foy with its lively Saturday market is just the right size, big enough to have choice but small enough to still be a proper French ville. We swapped our cars for two electric bikes, and our 15 acres of isolation for a French courtyard and village life.

Since moving to Sainte Foy we have been busily setting up & renovating our own home, discovering the local /regional food & wine, getting to know our ville, and renovating the Cottage at 7. Steven is an artist & has continued his practice with renewed vigor, drawing inspiration from the beautiful scenery discovered on our frequent walks + rides along the river Dordogne.
You can see some of his paintings in the Cottage at 7, and if you are interested he will happily show you more of his work in his atelier/studio.

We have spent lots of time and energy transforming the Cottage at 7 from a 'bare bones shell' to the warm & welcoming cottage it is now. With an eye for detail, we have tried to include everything we would want in a holiday home so that we can be confident our guests will enjoy a happy comfortable stay.
