Wonderful

This upstairs apartment is even better than the photos. Since the house i climbing the hillside every floor of the house has it’s own entrance and garden. The house is rustic and charming and with a stunning view. The garden and small pool is privat and beautiful. Luca is very helpful and answers all your questions quick. Cortona is so nice with a lot of restaurants. Be sure to make reservations. The best ones are very popular. My and my family really recommend this house. We also recommend you to book the dinner Luca offers. One of the best experiences of the week. Note: the village is very steep and not good for people with walking difficulties.

Heaven on Earth

We spent the most lovely 4 days with Luca, and his beautiful spot. Perfect place with the views, the grounds,hospitality and home base. He also prepared one of the most incredible meals of our lives, with product all home made and seasoned from what he grows on his property. Highly recommend, and will be back!

Die schönste Aussicht ever!

Das Quartier liegt hoch über Cortona, die Zufahrt ist auf den letzten 800m sehr schmal, dafür wird man mit einer wunderbaren Aussicht belohnt. Gastgeber Luca ist sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich. Die Wohnung befindet sich im Obergeschoss eines wunderbaren Hauses mit eigenem Zugang von der Straße und eigenem Garten auf 2 Ebenen. Das Wohnzimmer mit Küche ist wunderbar, da es auf 3 Seiten Fenster hat. Die davorliegende Terrasse bot die schönste Aussicht meines Lebens, weit über das Tal und bis zum Trasimener See. Auf der oberen Gartenterrasse befindet sich ein Pool, nur ca. 5/2,5m groß, ca. 1,20m tief, aber mit herrlich kühlem Wasser und ebenfalls grandioser Aussicht. Die kleine Dependance mit Schlafzimmer, Wintergarten, kleiner Küche und Bad wurde von uns nicht genützt, da wir nur zu zweit unterwegs waren. Das Zentrum von Cortona mit den vielen Restaurants erreicht man zu Fuß in 15 min., allerdings ziemlich steil bergab. Einziger Kritikpunkt ist die zum Teil gewöhnungsbedürftige Elektroinstallation. Abschließend: einer der schönsten Urlaube meines Lebens!

vue depuis la terrasse et la piscine exceptionnelle

points négatifs: -annonce non conforme car une des dépendances est transformée en buanderie et le lace vaisselle a disparu... -l'autre dépendance n'était pas prête à l'arrivée, ce qui a été corrigé dès le lendemain matin - problèmes récurrents de wi-fi points positifs: -la piscine n'est pas celle creusée dans la roche, mais celle disponible est mieux est très appréciable en vague de chaleur -le propriétaire est très réactif et a fait ce qu'il pouvait pour la wi-fi récalcitrante ainsi que pour 2 coupures d'électricité -vue imprenable à plus de 180 degrés sur la plaine depuis la terrasse et la piscine. - bon barbecue

Attention, piscine pas fidèle à l'annonce

La maison est jolie et idéalement placée, avec une superbe vue à 180 degrés sur la vallée depuis la terrasse. Le seul bémol est la piscine qui ne correspondait pas du tout à celle affichée et celle proposée laissait vraiment à désirer....La vaisselle était aussi assez rudimentaire.

Geweldige en unieke plek in Toscane

Dit is een heel sfeervol huisje, waar je met 4 mensen ruim kunt slapen, evt. met 6. Luca was zo aardig om voor ons ook het gastenhuisje in orde te maken zodat onze dochters van 17 en 19 daar konden slapen. Wat wij zo leuk vonden hier was: de plek (bovenop heuvel, je loopt zo het stadje in en ja, dat is steil, maar dat went zo) en de inrichting (oude meubels die echt passen bij de sfeer van het huis; ook was er meer dan voldoende kookgerei zodat we een dagje met vrienden (5 pers.) prima konden 'cateren'; er was weliswaar geen waterkoker, maar Luca gaf aan die voor ons te willen kopen, maar wij konden daarvoor ook een pan gebruiken, dus geen probleem. Je kunt in de omgeving ook mooie wandelingen maken, o.a. naar het klooster van St. Franciscus waarbij een deel van de route over een Romeinse weg voert. Het rotszwembad is vervangen door een groter houten (privé)bad, wederom met het prachtigste uitzicht dat we ooit hadden in een zwembad. Dit huis is volgens ons heel geschikt voor mensen die houden van rust en natuur maar ook de gezelligheid van een stadje met een overigens erg bijzonder museum dat je alles vertelt over de Etrusken (uitgebreide collectie) en goede restaurants op loopafstand prettig vinden. Enige minpuntje was dat er een wasmachine zou zijn maar die werd net vervangen omdat de oude het begeven had....dat kan gebeuren. Luca is een ontzettend behulpzame en aardige verhuurder die ook vraagt wat je als gast zou willen zodat hij daar rekening mee kan houden.

Silenzio e Pace a due passi dal centro

Grazie Luca per la disponibilità e la cortesia che hai avuto nei nostri confronti! Abbiamo soggiornato in due adulti, quattro bambini dai 9 ai 14 anni, e una cagnolona e lo spazio non mancava, anzi. Ampio giardino, con piscina, sdraio, tavolini per rilassarsi. Splendida terrazza dove godersi colazioni, pranzi e cene con vista e tramonti sulla valle… impagabile!!! A pochi minuti dal bellissimo centro di Cortona. Speriamo di tornare presto! Elisabetta

Traumhafter Blick !!!!

Die Wohnung hat einen ganz speziellen Charme. Es gehören auch noch weitere Räumlichkeiten dazu, die separat im Garten zu finden sind. Toll gemacht, jedoch haben wir diese nicht genutzt, da wir nur zu zweit waren. Man muss den Charme des Hauses mögen oder zumindest bereit sein über den ein oder andere kleinen Makel hinweg zu sehen. Die Austattung besteht hauptsächlich aus schönen Antiquitäten. Manches sollte jedoch überdacht und erneuert werden, da die Gebrauchsspuren, insbesondere im Wohnzimmerbereich immens sind. Da wir schönstes Wetter hatten, haben wir uns da nicht aufgehalten sondern haben die unglaublich schöne Terrasse genutzt so oft wir konnten. Guter Grill vorhanden! Übliche Kaffeemaschine und ein herkommlicher Backofen ist nicht vorhanden. Jedoch eine Mikrowelle mit Backfunktion. Wir haben diese aber nicht genutzt. Ein neuer Flachbildschirm im Wohnzimmer. Wlan funktioniert sehr gut! Das Objekt hat einen herrlich verwunschenen Garten. Etwas wild aber es hat durchaus seinen Reiz. Der Pool ist groß genung um sich abzukühlen und zu erfrischen. Wir verbrachten viele schöne und ruhige Stunden dort. Der Vermieter Luca wohnt im unteren Stockwerk des Hauses, hat uns jedoch absolute Privatsphäre gelassen. Die Lage ist im oberen Teil der Altstadt von Cortona und bietet Parkplätze in der Nähe des Hauses. Wunderbare Spaziergänge sind hier möglich. Vielen Dank Luca für eine herrlich entspannte Woche! Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen!!!

Peccato, potrebbe essere meraviglioso!

Location meravigliosa, cortesia squisita, ma sarebbe obbligatorio un maquillage. Veramente peccato perché il posto splendido, ma molto trascurato. Sarebbe opportuna una pulizia approfondita e la manutenzione dell’impianto elettrico. Dovrebbero avvertire che nella dependance manca la porta del bagno.

Meraviglioso!

Fantastica proprietà immersa in uno splendido giardino, la piscina in pietra e la terrazza panoramica rendono questo posto ideale per una vacanza all'insegna del relax. La casa d'epoca è arredata in perfetto stile toscano, con mobili rustici e di pregio scelti con stile. Vicina al centro di Cortona, raggiungibile a piedi. Luca è un ottimo padrone di casa, è sempre stato gentile e disponibile ad accogliere tutte le nostre richieste. Abbiamo trascorso una bellissima vacanza, sicuramente ci ritorneremo. Consigliatissimo!!!!

The view from this apartment was spectacular. Sitting on the balcony with a glass of wine or coffee and soaking it all in was just amazing! Good size living room and kitchen, by european standards, was wonderful for our family of 6 to have a little room to spread out. Pros: Did I mention the view! Good size for a family or large group. Garden was very green and peaceful. Linens were clean, bed was comfy Cons: To say this is in the historic center is a bit of a stretch. It is a hike up the hill from any shops or restaurants. If you are physically fit it's doable but if you have knee issues or problems walking up stairs that may be a problem. Not fancy, for us with 4 kids this was great, but if you're expecting luxury this is not the place. Our boys who are 10 and 12 loved the loft, but it would not be safe for young kids. Steps are very steep and railings are wide enough to slide through.

Spectacular views in this charming rustic villa!

What a special find! This place lets you experience the charming, rustic beauty of a Tuscan farmhouse, while still being within the walls of Cortona. It is basically at the top of the hill town of Cortona, so yes it is a steep walk from downtown – but it is so, so worth it! The grounds are beautiful, even in the fall – you walk to the house along a path lined with olive trees and hedges of rosemary and lavender, and the gardens that wind around the back have roses, grape vines on arbors, and even tomatoes that Luca told us to help ourselves to! It was delightful to be able to cook breakfast with tomatoes and rosemary that we picked that morning right outside the house. The views are absolutely spectacular, and there are multiple locations to enjoy them – whether looking out the windows in the kitchen, or enjoying some wine on the covered patio, or in the seating areas in the garden. The house is rustic but very clean and comfortable, and Luca was a gracious and helpful host. We would highly recommend this place and would love to go back!

SORPRENDENTE!

Se andate a Cortona, non perdete l'occasione di soggiornare in questa casa .. In pieno centro storico, ma con grandi spazi esterni e molto comoda internamente (abbiamo soggiornato in 8 persone) . Il proprietario è una persona da conoscere assolutamente, molto molto disponibile e discreto. Torneremo!

Casa nella natura e proprietario amabile

Siamo stati con un gruppo di amici di 7 ragazzi, tutti intorno ai 23/24 anni. La casa ha superato di gran lunga le nostre aspettative: completa privacy, immersa in un boschetto naturale, tanti piccoli angoli di relax con una meravigliosa vista, attrezzata con accessori di comfort. Tutto ciò che si aspetta da un Week end in famiglia dove poter stare un po' insieme ad un paio di giorni con amici dove condividere ambienti spaziosi per stare insieme o piccoli angoli privati per rilassarsi un po' con noi stessi. Una nota particolare va al proprietario Luca, gentilissimo, sempre presente (quando avevamo bisogno di consigli, chiarimenti, o anche solo per una chiacchierata) ma completamente discreto (Non lo abbiamo neanche visto per il resto del tempo, però trovavamo i servizi perfettamente rigenerati e puliti, piscina, etc..), Grazie Luca!! :)

Mooi maar veroudert en niet schoon

Zeker leuk om 2 nachten met volwassen te verblijven maar zeker niet met kinderen. Bijgebouwen is geen logeeradres. En om cortona centrum te bezoeken moet je wel een goede conditie hebben.

Do Not Believe the Pictures

My family and I arrived on a Friday afternoon, spent approximately 15 minutes looking at the property and all 8 of us unanimously decided the house did not meet minimum standards and refused to stay there. We went back to Cortona and looked for a hotel instead. We are currently arguing via email with the owner now to secure a refund but he is not cooperating. The bedrooms are spread over three buildings on the property, all the rooms are not in one building. The buildings are small, damp and dank with an unpleasant musty odor. One of the bedrooms is little better than a toolshed with ants crawling in some areas. The furniture is primarily old and dilapidated, some of the furniture was wet and moldy and the mattresses and pillows were dirty with a plethora of stains of indeterminate origin. The natural pool is not a pool at all by any commonly understood definition. It is more like a goldfish pond and certainly not suitable for use by humans. If you are looking for a nice base to explore Cortona and Tuscany for a few days, this is not it. I gave it one star only because the website will not let me submit a review with zero stars.

Amazing villa with spectacular views that encompasses Tuscan Charm.

If you are looking for a picturesque villa to stay during your Tuscan Holiday, you have found it! My husband and I along with another couple stayed here for 3 nights and could not have been happier- wish we would have had more time! The views are spectacular to start. The main villa comfortably sleeps 6 and there are outer buildings equipped with their own bathrooms, sleeping quarters and kitchenettes to accommodate more. The garden is out of a dream with a natural pool and views to match that of the balcony. There are also chickens that Luca (the owner)offered for us to pick eggs from in the mornings if we liked! Luca, the owner, also lives on a separate area of the property, and he also offers to cook for an added fee with a reservation of the time. This meal was the best we had during our whole trip accompanied with Tuscan wines ( take advantage of this culinary experience!) Luca was a generous host. The walk into center of town is also quick, and there is an easy walk to the top of the hill where there are great hiking trails, the fort and a beautiful chapel. We will be returning to this amazing property!
