About this property

Beautiful secluded Wye Valley converted barn, in woodlands

Stone built converted barn in glorious seclusion on the owner's rare breed farm in the Wye Valley. Recently extended and having three good size bedrooms (one double with en suite, one twin and one with a double and single bed), bathroom with WC, bidet, whb and bath, light and open living room, dining room and modern fitted kitchen. The barn is all on the ground floor (there is a mezzanine which is retained by the owner for storage). Flagstone patio surround, and fronting woodland, approached along a farm track but close to all amenities, and good for accessing all of the visitor attractions of the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean.

Peace and quiet
We loved this rural setting away from the hustle of life. You can easily access the Forest of Dean and South Wales from here as you are minutes away from the A40 so this is a great location for exploring. All the bedrooms are downstairs which wasn’t clear in the listing but this was perfect for our less mobile member of the family. We will definitely be back as we all enjoyed our week away!

Mini break with friends
What a lovely little barn. Such a nice quiet location and surrounding woodland to take the dogs ans kids adventuring into. It was very well situated to access the wye canoeing and go ape as well as not far from some supermarkets to gather supplies. Everything you need was found in the house although the addition of some board games would have been great. Lovely few days. Just what was needed to finish off the summer holidays. Thanks

Gorgeous, spacious property surrounded by countryside
Field Barn was an exceptionally comfortable holiday cottage for our week in the Wye Valley. Close to Monmouth, Ross, the River Wye and Forest of Dean we found it very well-located to access everything we wanted. The property was immaculately clean and well-stocked with lovely big bedrooms and excellent parking. Our dog Theo loved the large front courtyard and driveway and the woodland walks and it has a wonderfully tucked away feel. Paola was fantastic in communication and responded to any questions we had very quickly. Thanks Paola - a really lovely week.

Perfect Base
This was a lovely, clean, well equipped property which was a perfect base to explore the delights of the Wye Valley. The suggestions in the Guestbook were helpful and gave a variety of local destinations to visit. We had a lovely few days here. Thank you.

Awesome area and countryside for a visit
This summer I had an opportunity to take the kids on a vacation of a life time. My wife has a slight fear of flying but the kids do not. We used this cottage as our home base while we toured the west of the UK. It was fantastic! The remote location of the property allowed to spend quality family time and afforded very quite evenings. We visited several castles, cathedrals and other tourist stuff. I chose the area knowing it would be very beautiful (from books and internet type searches) but seeing it in person was so much more satisfying. Our several hundred photographs of the area and location visited pale in comparison to the real thing. This cottage was plenty big enough for the three of us and outfitted with everything we could ask for, including several pamphlets, flyers and menus for almost everything in this area of the UK. I am hoping I can convince my wife to join us next time. There will be a next time. Thank you for the use of your cottage in was fantastic. I wish we had found time to spend a few moments with our hosts. Greg and kids.

Fantastic
Our stay in Field Barn was perfect. We had a family wedding locally and it allowed our family to stay together to enjoy the weekend even more. We were the first guests in Field Barn since the renovation and would like to say it has been done to a very good standard. If we come back to Marstow to visit our family we will be staying again. If you can get a phone line and broadband installed it would make the stay even better!!!

My husband Geoffrey bought Trebandy Farm in 1989 and have since then refurbished and converted all of the buildings on the farm, have planted woods and hedges, dredged the lakes, and have installed a water wheel that generates electricity for the houses in the winter. We are fortunate to be the custodians of such a beautiful place.

Why they chose this property

It is a uniquely beautiful place, home to delightful highland cows and hebridean sheep and a large and varied selection of wild animals and birds as well. I fell in love with it when I first saw it, and I hope you will too.

What makes this property unique

Beautiful and comfortable buildings in a uniquely beautiful setting.
