About this property
Beautiful old family home in Beccles town centre
Our three bedroom home is nestled in the heart of the historic Suffolk market town of Beccles, which sits on the beautiful River Waveney. The house is Grade II listed so you’ll spot lots of old and quirky features throughout. The original part of the house was built in the 1700s, complete with large inglenook fireplace, and it has a modern renovation at the back with a light and spacious kitchen diner.
The house has three bedrooms: two doubles and one single room which also has a cot in it. There's a bathroom upstairs as well as a WC and shower room downstairs. In our living room, there's a wood-burning stove which you’re welcome to use in the winter months. This heats the house very effectively, but there’s also modern gas central heating throughout. There is a playroom on the ground floor which also has a sofa-bed in it.
The house has a small enclosed garden at the back, complete with a wendy house and sandpit.
Our home would be well suited to two couples or a family. As the house is so old, please note the stairs are narrow, uneven and quite steep, so not really suitable for people with mobility issues, or for very elderly people. There are stairgates and handrails fitted at the top and bottom of the main staircase.
You will have access to the whole house. We don’t have any parking but you can park 30 seconds away in the short-stay public car park on Hungate Lane, although this has a three-hour maximum. After that, we will point you towards a free car park just a couple of minutes walk from the house on Puddingmoor.
This place is usually our family home, but we'll be overseas from November 2017 to April 2018. We are open to longer term lets. A local friend will be on hand in case of any problems, and we'll be available on email.
