Small apartment in walking distance to Acropolis, Athens
This apartment is better suited for single or couple occupancy, as there isn't much space for additional people., as the lounge becomes the extra beds. The kitchen is tiny and not really usable, the kettle leaked a little from a small crack. The freezer was very iced up, and a part filled jug of water in the fridge, didn't make it appear cleaned. Lots of bags and unnecessary clutter in the cupboards and wardrobe ... none of it folded nicely either, so it kind of felt like it was unloved. The shower tap in the bathroom is at waist height, and with no shower screen, you have to kneel down to shower, otherwise the water will go everywhere. The big window in the bath/shower area has a blind, which also gets wet when you shower, which is unavoidable, unless you just bath instead. The little plastic dining table which is attached to the wall had 2 basic plastic chairs, so we had to bring in another plastic chair from outside, to be able to sit together, and there really wasn't anywhere else we could sit together. The bedroom was a nice size, and the bed was comfortable. The apartment building has graffiti on it, and it doesn't look very inviting from the outside. Efi was quick in her responses, but did annoy me when she informed me on arrival day, that as I wasn't arriving between 2-4pm which is the check in time, I would have to wait until 6.30pm to get checked in, which would ordinarily incur a late arrival fee, that she would, however, waive in this instance. I had originally given Efi an arrival time of 5-6pm and a late arrival fee had never been mentioned until the day of check in. Someone did arrive earlier to let us in though, after my terse email. I had also asked Efi if there was a left luggage close by to the apartment, as we wanted to store our suitcases whilst in Santorini, and before checking into Efi's apartment, and Efi said she didn't know of one. There is one on the same street, about 200m away. My husband and I run an accommodation business in Australia, and we consider our cottages to be at the more luxurious end of the market, and this apartment is definitely not. To be fair, the apartment is also not very expensive, so you are getting an okay place to stay in, which was quiet at night, and close to the tourist hub, but situated just outside of the more expensive tourist strip of the Acropolis, in which you can enjoy the many sights that Athens has to offer.
