About this property

Beautifully restored and well proportioned Grade II listed Georgian townhouse in the heart of the historic town of Deal's conservation area. This former merchant's home, is just a pebbles throw from the seafront and is perfectly situated at the end of Deal's multi award winning high street. Vibrant bars and boutique shops are right on our doorstep, but the house retains its peaceful atmosphere. We warmly welcome guest from all back grounds and love to share our much loved home.

Birthday weekend for 30th son

The house was very quirky and spacious 8 people and toddler it had everything you could possibly need and good communication with host We were within walking distance of fantastic restaurants and would recommend deal for a break parking was busy but it was bank holiday so chose to park in car park and pay rather than moving car every day would recommend hiring this property for a family break

The House We Wish We Had!

Beautifully decorated house, great location in the centre of Deal, a short walk to the beach. Comfortable beds, cosy rooms and fantastically equipped kitchen and dining area. Ideal for a group booking and a wonderful base from which to discover the area.

Cullen House

We have enjoyed our week at Cullen House. It is ideally situated on the High Street for Deal town centre. Deal is a lovely town and we were also able to visit the grounds of Walmer Castle, Minnis Bay, Ramsgate and Sandwich. It also helped that we were very lucky with the weather.

Fabulous house - great location

Beautifully decorated, and very comfortable bedrooms. Lovely bathroom. Shower room a little cramped. On-street parking good, but make sure to liase with property owner in advance to get relevant Council permits.

I-Deal

Ideal long weekend for us, 7 people over 3 generations. Ideal location in charming Deal, a short walk to the beach, and to a diversity of restaurants and bars. Ideal holiday house, with all requirements amply met. Large kitchen opening onto an enclosed yard was particularly well used, and exceptionally well provided. A remarkable house.

Period townhouse full of interest, in great location

Our party of 7 (3 adults, 2 teens, 2 children) were comfortably accommodated in this stunning Georgian townhouse. The adults loved the detail in each room - the kids loved having Netflix and a piano. Beds were comfy, shower worked well, very well stocked kitchen and that free standing bath just had to be used! This was our first time in Bath and the house was very well situated, close to the shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and also close to the sea: perfect! I'm also happy to report that the owner was very easy to communicate with. An excellent stay - highly recommended!

A magical house in the perfect location

We were all so impressed with the Cullen House and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is so delightfully decorated and welcoming. The kitchen is large and well stocked. Our toddler was so pleased to find lots of toys in the 'kids' bedroom and the host provided a baby travel cot. It is located centrally in Deal, with the Saturday market just across the road and only a minute or two walk to the main shops or the beach. Parking isn't very easy and a bit of a walk to find free parking, but this is to be expected in this area with such a centrally located property. We couldn't recommend this place enough and hope to return!

Different and Delightful

Cullen House is a large period property which offers all that is needed to provide a sense of going back in time in an historic seaside town. The traditional decor and furnishing is mixed with all mod cons for an interesting and comfortable stay. We were continually finding new little quirks during our brief stay. The owner was very helpful and informative and Cullen House is clearly a much loved family home and not just a holiday rental.

Stunning house, ideally located. We wanted to stay permanently!

Cullen House could be featured in a glossy best selling interiors magazine! Beautifully furnished & spacious, yet cosy & comfortable. Centrally located in Deal which has a wealth of gorgeous independent shops, bars, cafes & restaurants, & very close to the seafront. We loved every minute of our 3 night stay & would highly recommend this wonderful property. We were all reluctant to leave! Thank you Nicki for such an enjoyable & memorable stay.

Stay in characterfull house in Deal

We had a brilliant 3 night stay in Cullen House, It had everything one could conceivelly want for a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing stay. Deal is an excellent location with plenty choice of restaurants pubs etc to suit any reasonable need with lots to see and to for different age groups. I happily recommend this quirky and fascinating house to anyone looking for something a bit special. Ron Ferrier

Beautiful house with everything you need for a great stay

I rented Cullen House for New Year and to celebrate my husband’s 40th birthday with a group of friends, which included small children. The house seemed to achieve the impossible - sophisticated and elegant for the adults, but equipped with everything you might need for small children including a box of Lego which kept 2 four years olds very happy after some blustery walks on the beach. The kitchen had every gadget we could think of (including a toastie maker!) and had plenty of plates, cups, cutlery etc for us all. It felt like we were privileged enough to be staying in someone’s wonderful home with everything we needed, rather than in a rental with not quite enough spoons!! The house was full of character, the beds were comfortable, the location was ace and communication with the owner was first class (we were sent a long email before arrival with lots of superb suggestions for walks, pubs, butchers, fish & chips..you name it, it was covered!). Overall Cullen House was a bargain and I would highly recommend visiting this lovely seaside town and staying in this wonderful house.

Stunning, magical house and wonderful location

This house is really special and Nicky was a fabulous host. My husband took me here for a surprise 30th with friends and it was really one of the best weekends of my life!!! Deal is beautiful with lots to see and do - beautiful walks on the beach, characterful pubs and amazing castles. But I can’t emphasis enough how incredible the house is... thank you so much!!!

Colourful quirky Georgian townhouse.

8 of us enjoyed staying at Cullen House over Christmas. We are keen cooks, and the kitchen was very well equipped with a table that all of us could sit around, and a full selection of utensils, and more than enough crockery and cutlery. There is a large range oven, gas and electric which was super efficient. The beds were comfy, and there was more than enough hot water for all our showering and bathing needs. We chose the house, because of it tasteful decoration and were not disappointed, and felt we could relax in our surroundings. There was a issue regarding the light fuses which the owners sorted out as quickly as possible, so that problem didn't affect us too much. We didn't realise the telly was not connected to an aerial, however we were able to stream programmes, and that issue didn't affect us. We would recommend this house, The location is good, walking distance to lovely bakery, and coffee shop, and an easy drive for outings as well, such as to the White Cliffs of Dover, and other towns very nearby.
