Four bedroom lodge - Sleeps 10 - Pet friendly lodge.

Hillside lodge is the perfect place for groups to come together, whether that's hen groups, special birthday celebrations, friends or families taking a break away to enjoy each others company. With the spacious open plan living area with dining and seating for 10, its great for entertaining. With a large seating area for 10 outside and your own private hot tub, makes a great place to chill and socialise.

The shared seasonal outdoor pool is a great place to come together, relax and soak up the sun. Tor Farm is a perfect place to explore the surrounding area for walks with your loved ones (including those four pawed).

Celebration weekend for a group of 10

The property was amazing , true to its pictures . Immaculate and had everything you needed for a great weekend . Plenty of towels , crockery and toiletries. Hot tub and swimming pool were nice and clean . The host , Karen , was so helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her . The late checkout on a Sunday was a great bonus . We will defo be returning .

Great place, particularly for a group

The property is nestled in the pretty countryside and is very peaceful. The lodge was impeccably clean, warm and comfortable. There was plenty of space for six adults from four different households, occupying four double rooms and the large dining table allowed us to gather round and play cards and board games. We were very impressed.

Great family get together

We had a fantastic stay for our annual family get together. The lodge is fantastic, loads of space and kitted out to a high spec. The hot tub was of course a great addition and heated to a lovely temperature. Karen was super responsive and very quick to pop tea towels and oven gloves in which had got missed at the last changeover. Located in a great spot down a country lane - climbing the hill opposite is a must if you can, amazing views!

We stayed at Hillside Lodge to surprise my daughter for her 21st Birthday what a wonderful stay we had a beautiful lodge, very spacious very comfortable beds, hot tub and swimming pool , beautiful surroundings, the photos on website don’t do the lodge justice, it’s a lot bigger and well equipped, we will definitely be back again ( Maria Portsmouth) Thankyou for a wonderful stay

Lovely holiday

Just got home from a week at hillside and we’re already wanting to come back and stay again, the area/walks are rural and just countryside, very peaceful, the lodge is modern and luxury, it was 19degrees nearly everyday and sunbathing in the garden on the sun loungers felt like we was abroad it was a proper sun trap! comfy big bed and a really spacious living/kitchen area! We will 100% be coming back all u can hear is birds chirping and farm animals so peaceful!

Excellent stay

We booked the lodge for my fiancés 30th birthday and had 9 people in total. It was perfect for us and had so many amenities so we didn’t feel like we were missing anything. Very clean and tidy and a great space for socialising and enjoying a relaxing weekend with friends. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect Family Getaway

We surprised my brother for his 40th birthday with this little getaway. We all haven't been to Somerset since we were younger so it was lovely. Perfect location and even better as provided in the property was a book with local information (e.g restaurants/takeaways/activities). We had the Hillside lodge which was absolutely incredible- so clean! Karen is so friendly and helpful especially leading up to the stay regarding our family dog. The property is perfect for any type of getaway! I would highly recommend!

Family Break

Lovely, clean lodge which we didn’t think the photos quite did justice for. Stayed with 8 adults, 2 kids and 2 dogs and was definitely spacious enough. Good location just 7/8 min drive to Cheddar. Would recommend!

Perfect place for a group getaway- couldn’t recommend enough!

I recently stayed at the property with 7 of my friends for a group getaway since our abroad holiday was cancelled. The facilities in the house were excellent and had everything we needed. The rooms were decorated beautifully with ensuites and the beds were so comfy. The hot tub was really big and could fit all of us in and the outside area was lovely with a bbq and lovely outside furniture. The location was perfect with beautiful surroundings and a nice town a short drive away. Overall we couldn’t be happier with the property and the stay in general. I have recommended it to everyone and we will definitely be returning!!

A wonderful short break

The family thoroughly enjoyed the spacious lodge. A very comfortable home from home. The hot tub perfect after a day walking in and around the Cheddar Gorge. One of our party had a flat tyre and our host very kindly helped by changing it for the spare. Brilliant service.

About the host

Hosted by Karen Hansford

Brian and Caroline Ladd, both in their sixties, have lived at Tor Farm for 33 years and originally farmed the land. They have brought up 4 children who all left home and now have 8 grandchildren to enjoy. For the last 24 years they have offered B&B in the farmhouse, but now want to take things a little quieter, and are just offering 9 holiday cottages, so that they can spend more time with their family. Their main interests are gardening, playing bridge and touring Britain in their caravan.

Why they chose this property

We originally bought the land, the holiday cottages now stand on in 1985, when it was a dairy farm. We have farmed for many years until it was no longer viable, and decided to turn the old farm yard, and farm house in to luxury self catering holiday accommodation. We still live on site, so we can welcome new arrivals, and sort out any concerns or problems guests may have.

Shared heated swimming pool to exercise in or just relax on the terraces. 4 lodges dog friendly. Walk your dogs down the quiet country lane outside the cottage.
