AWESOME PLACE

Our family had a wonderful time. The house was perfect and has everything you need. The location is very close to the beach. Make sure you go to the police department and get a free parking permit for the beach parking and you won’t have to walk. We caught some fish and crab in the traps(they love chicken legs). Overall it’s an awesome and beautiful place to stay!!

Great location

We loved the location, but I think the place could use a little love and upkeep. The goal was to be at the beach and on the water so it didnt bother us too much, but the beds were not pleasant and the AC was out the first night we were there. Still loved the stay just based on the location but the house could use some love to make it a bit more comfy

Clean, quiet, perfect location

This was our 1st experience with renting, John was very quick to respond with any questions and the property was portrayed accurately. The house and property were clean, location was great, neighborhood was quiet and just a couple minute walk to the bay or gulf beaches. My 10-12yr old loved catching crabs and fish in the canal and launch as well as the kayaks. We would love to come back next year.

Great Location, Well Stocked Kitchen

We loved being on the canal on Dauphin Island. It was easy to put our kayaks in the water and the sunset/sunrise views were great. We had a group of 8+ so the well stocked kitchen was wonderful. We used the crockpot and blender several times and there were plenty of plates, etc for our crew to use. Our biggest complaint was that the bathrooms didn't have fans that work. With only two bathrooms for 8 people, this was challenging.

Superb location

Stayed here for 5 days in March as we came to Dauphin Island on our teacher spring break. The location is superb. We enjoyed fishing in the canals and taking the 4 minute walk to the gulf multiple times a day. Really, the only negative for us was some upkeep— there was lots of garbage in the yard (I spent an hour cleaning it up one day) and the grill was so rusted out that it was unusable. We would have loved to be able to open the big windows, but either way they were nice. We love to cook and the kitchen was very well stocked. The kayaks and boat launch were a giant plus as well. The location was quiet and it was nice to be a block off the windy gulf. Overall, We really enjoyed our stay!

Great location and layout

I gave it only 3 stars because we were the first to rent it in 2022 and there were some issues with a bed and one of the bathtubs. That said, it was a great space and I am sure John will fix these things ASAP. The house was clean and the layout was great for 2 moms with kids. The kitchen was well stocked, except coffee mugs, as was the downstairs shed for beach items. There is no need to lug sand toys/buckets or body boards. We used the kayak with the seat, one was missing. I would recommend setting a cake pan of water or a bucket at the entrance as we rinsed off downstairs but still tracked in sand by the time we got upstairs. Also, if you are working the internet wasn't great but I have stayed on this island many times and it can be hit or miss wherever you stay. Overall, great place and I would stay there again!

Great house amazing location

Great house this was our first time to Dauphin Island and to use VRBO. Fishing was amazing from the canal. Home accommodations were fine. We had a couple of concerns but the owner took care of things immediately. Location location location was absolutely perfect. Best of both worlds walk across the street to the gulf or walk the same distance to the sound. Island does close down by 9 pm but that was perfectly fine with me. Crab traps and kayaks were in very good condition as well.

Perfect family vacation

Perfect place for a family vacation. The house had plenty of room for all 7 of us and everything we could possibly need during our stay. Our kids did plenty of fishing off of the canal and rode in the kayaks. Short stroll to the beach. Owner got back to us quick with any questions we had. House was very clean and perfect for us. Only thing I suggest is possibly putting small TVs in other bedrooms. We can’t wait to visit again next summer!

Perfect for rodeo week

We came to DI for rodeo week. This house was just what we needed. Multiple beds and rooms were perfect for our mixed group. The kitchen was well supplied. The outdoor space for working, cooking and hanging out was spacious. There was space to cook, eat, work and hang a hammock. The boat launch really sold us though! It is so nice to have such easy access. Great sunsets and sunrises, easy access to the beach, kayaks and crab traps can all be found there. We had a wonderful time! There is also a gate at the top of the stairs. It is great for containing kiddos and the dog.

Perfect Week

What a wonderful week we had here at Launch Pad, the location is great, a short walk to the gulf or the bay and right on the canal. Our whole crew loved fishing / crabbing off the dock, the Kayaks, everything. The home does need some repair but nothing that hindered our stay and he is working on updates. Owner was super easy to communicate with , super nice and answered all questions promptly. Thank you for sharing your home with us, we are missing it already! We will definitely be back!

Could handle the weather but visitors should have been put on hold until property was repaired. Rained, was up during night wringing out towels because water was running down walls into main living area and under main door onto main living area.

Nice location but...

-We had no internet for 2 days after previously confirming internet was good. We ended up having to call the internet provider to have come out to repair. -No TV for 2 days since the only TV is streamed over the internet -Numerous light bulbs burned out -It was raining the day we checked in. There was a towel strategically placed in a window that had water pouring in. -Because of the leaking window a large portion of that wall is completely rotten on the outside and inside. -Dishes were dirty. Some in the cabinets had food stuck on them. Kitchen drawers inside are filthy. -The house was generally not maintained well. Broken tile floors, lamp broken and doors don’t latch. - On a positive note when contacted the owner did responded quickly.

Wonderful vacation!

This house was perfect for our family’s spring break. Location cannot be beat for beach access. Upstairs deck was our favorite place for morning coffee and watching fish jump in the waterway. We enjoyed the dock for fishing and crabbing too. Home was stocked with any needed kitchenware and grill worked great too. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Dauphin Island.

Great Getaway!!
