About this property

PRIVATE VILLA IN THE HEART OF CHIANTI with pools and stunning views

The Piaggione of Serravalle, at a glance, appears as a gem naturally cast on the highest ridges of the Chianti hills of Central Tuscany, and as a jewel it shines with its authentic flavors, ancient traditions and silent stillness.
Shaded and enclosed by oak woods and shrouded by the greenery of its olive trees and vineyards, it mingles within the horizons of the grandeur of the Tuscan countryside that is still genuine and remarkably unspoiled. The structure of Piaggione consists of two spacious apartments, one with four, the other, three bedrooms and a separate two bedroom cottage. Among these, the Loggia, which houses a wellness center embellished by an exotic touch. On the top floor of a spa tub and an infrared sauna, and accessing via a staircase, you will approach a somewhat hidden room used for massages and turkish baths on the bottom floor.
At Piaggione of Serravalle you will discover The Loggia, a small wellness paradise. Created from the predilection of the family for aesthetics, health and body care, La Loggia, with its large windows, treasures the most precious secrets for a complete physical and mental relaxation. You can let yourself go under soothing hot water or 37 ° C of the indoor hot tub. Alternatively, you can be enveloped by the warm therapeutic infrared sauna, until it reaches the adjustable temperatures up to 65 ° C. In between sessions, you can relax on our ergonomic lounge chairs, underneath the beautiful orchids and tropical plants. Descending the stone steps from La Loggia you will access the hammam area, inspired by the most renowned spas of the Etruscans and the Romans, and a room entirely dedicated to the art of massage, with a comfortable shower and the glittering mosaics of the Turkish bath. The steam bath along with the chromotherapy and aromatherapy, as well as being beneficial to the skin and respiratory system, contributes to the proper relaxation of the mind and body.
The Loggia del Piaggione has a very unique feature: it's a spa area that we let on request so that you can enjoy it privately in the company of friends or family.

We offer the following treatments

Hot tub with Jacuzzi 36/37 ° C: Being within the panoramic Loggia, it's always available with cooler outside temperatures or at nighttime: you will be immersed in nature and protected by the large panoramic windows and can be comfortably used by four people, .
Infrared Sauna: Very beneficial for your body, but without the side effects of a traditional sauna, the operating temperature ranges from 45 to 60 ° C and can be used by everyone.
Turkish Bath: The Turkish bath is a steam bath at 35-38 ° C. The ambiance decorated with mosaics is equipped with all comforts, a chromotherapy light, a small fountain to refresh your wrists and your face and a hand shower to cool the lower limbs. Ten minutes are required for your skin and the respiratory tracts to gain great benefit, then, before repeating the session we recommend a warm shower. During or after the treatment you can relax in the lodge or in the small garden reserved for wellness from where you can comfortably access the pool area outside.
Massage:
In the wellness area is a comfortable lounge for massages that will favor your complete relaxation.
On appointment, a specialist will be at your disposal to provide you with a massage: ayurveda, relaxation, reflexology etc. If you want to take advantage of these treatments, we recommend contacting us before arrival.

On the outside you are welcomed by a splendid swimming pool that plunges down the lush valleys and, between sprouts of fragrant shrubs, built in the rocks, a jacuzzi tub that is surmounted by a spurt of hot water. Small paths and stone steps cut into the gardens that slope down the valley, designing silent hidden nooks that make its way through the forests. In this enchanting setting, stand out the modern sculptures of famous Alberto Inglesi artist who will accompany your quaint countryside strolls and hikes. If your desire is to rediscover the spontaneousness of life, the Piaggione of Serravalle is the place to be, to relax and immerse yourself in the magnificence of a Tuscan setting blessed by serenity and silence.
The Piaggione of Serravalle is a lively farm that is in constant action and that brings forth its daily activities that are carried out in order to achieve a balance of eco-friendly status that is rational and respectful of the rules that prevail in nature and that characterizes its existence in every detail. Plants and animals, placed at the center of activities, have always been treated like human beings and therefore have the best care and attention to undergo the strictest quality controls that strive for excellence as well as for superb genuineness. The seasonal cycle of activities, therefore, commences in spring with the most suitable positioning of the plants, sowing the seeds and the maintenance of gardens, vineyards and olive groves. During the summer we proceed mainly with the picking of fruits and vegetables, and then we begin to feed the food for the winter and start collecting the wood for the colder months. Autumn, however, is the most busy period since we deal first with the grape harvest and later with the olive picking. We also start all the various processes for the production of wine and oil, the squeezing and pressing and we also collect the wild fruits from our forests, traditionally considered to be one of the bases that characterize our local cuisine. During the winter, with the arrival of the frosts we end our labors but we also have to start preparing the land for the new year to come and we have time to devote ourselves to more domestic chores. Of course we always have our farm animals to look after. The food processing is challenging and goes hand in hand with the local tradition, to sustain the authenticity of ancient flavors and discover new ones, thus giving the opportunity to gourmet fanatics to acquire the most authentic recipes, the methods of cultivation and preservation. The culinary skills of Camilla, combined with the hard work of Alberto, will allow you to take advantage of the exquisite cold meats, salamis, bruschette and cheeses produced on the farm and we will be honored to prepare you memorable full course meals with traditional dishes , accompanied by Chianti DOC and DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil; all obviously of our own produce and of course our products can be purchased directly on the farm. Camilla also offers its services as a professional tour guide, organizing trips and excursions all over Siena and its territory and enriching them with detailed descriptions and explanations. Albert, instead, offers his own experience and skills in the arts by offering sculpture and painting classes. Among the various projects under construction, Piaggione will be able to offer cooking classes as well as organizing educational strolls along the paths of the vegetable gardens. Also at a stone throw from Piaggione has recently been established a horseback riding center with a full range of activities related to equestrian trekking through the ancient roads of the Chianti hills.

Authentic grand style with homely feel
Camilla has created a real gem with a very grand proportioned home which felt intimate and peaceful. We had both apartments which linked together created a lot of discs for our 2 families with 4 young active boys. The setting was simply stunning and I haven’t experienced that much peace for a long time. Highly recommended

Sunrise in Tuscany at the villa is bella
Our family of 10 spent time in this beautiful home being together, and utilizing the pool and spa. Our host Camilla entertained us during the delicious welcome meal with stories of her experiences leading tour groups. We had such a wonderful time in Italy and the Tuscan hillside and experiencing the views. We made lots of great memories with our children and 4 grandsons.

Amazing Experience & Helpful Owner
We enjoyed a week long stay in the picturesque town of Vagliagli. The house was located on a winding, rough road, and I would advise an SUV or similar. We had an Audi A5 and it was too low to the ground for that type of terrain. All roads to local towns were gravel, so be prepared. We are Americans, and very used to our comfort of air conditioning. The lack of AC was the hardest part to adjust to for us as it was very hot this summer. Regardless, we acclimated fine. The property itself is stunning. The pool was a great retreat, and the on-site herbs and fruit trees were amazing. We hired Camilla to be our tour guide in Siena, and I can’t rave about her enough. She’s a Siena born woman who spoke with great passion about the city. She took us on a walking tour of the Duomo and location of Palio. She assisted us at every step, and even secured our taxi back to Florence to catch our return flight home. We visited Castellina regularly, and it’s only 15 minutes away. They have a much larger market for groceries and very friendly restaurant owners who treated us like family every time they saw us. We drove to the Prada Outlet, and made several stops at local vineyards to sample wine & olive oil. Definitely take Camilla up on her offer to stock the fridge and take the trash out. Local rules are very different from what we were used to, and she saved us a lot of time and effort figuring that out. I highly recommend using the outdoor grill for steaks and ambiance. The cooking class on-site was incredible. I could go on for days about that. Overall, our experience was fantastic and we have all agreed we will return to this charming agriturismo for years to come!

Beautiful, comfortable villa
We had a magical stay with out extended family of 16 - grandparents to grandkids (all adults). The location was great - easy day trips to Sienna, Florence, Volterra and Montepulciano - but you do want a car. The house was well-equipped and Camilla, the host, was terrific. We had exceptionally nice weather and used the pool more than we thought we would. Plenty of space to be together as a group and also to get some privacy if needed. We would love to go back!

Best Trip Ever- Best Host Ever!
Camilla is the consummate host. If you plan to visit Tuscany, you cannot do better than staying at her lovely home. Amidst olive trees, grapevines, you will share a beautiful home with views of the hillsides, and with a luxurious bonus spa- hot tub, turkish spa, sauna, pool. We cannot recommend more highly that you insist on Camilla taking you on a personal tour of Siena, her home, Pizza night is equally fabulous, and you will enjoy each and every type of pizza they prepare for your group. We were 12 friends, staying for a week, and became friends with Camilla and her family. We will be back!

A paradise in typical Tuscany
We celebrate a very important birthday and the entire 14 family members flew in from long distances. The entire (almost) a week was magical. The house is gorgeous, all the rooms are decorated very nicely, comfortable beds, 2-3 full kitchens, lots of toilets and bathrooms and lots of space for everyone. The location is abit in middle of vilages / no where, but same time 15 min to one hour drive to most of the locations. Camilla was super friendly and effective before and during the stay. She also prepared for us a full dinner in the day we all landed and that was amazing experience. It is our 4th time in Italy and we rented house many times, but this time it was speciel. We will be happy to come again in another opportunity.

Spectacular in every way! The view is stunning and the unique character of the house is magical!
We spent two wonderful weeks at the farmhouse, the first with extended family (including 5 grown children with their boyfriends/girlfriends) and the second week with 5 couples. Everyone raved about the house and we became quite attached to Skunk the dog. Camilla is a delightful host and excellent tour guide, with passion and lots of humor. We had several dinners at the house that she cooked, which were wonderful, especially with the view. We enjoyed walking into Vagliagli every morning for coffee and pastries and enjoyed several dinners at the restaurant there. We had one long luxurious lunch at Devoile winery. We also ate 3 times Caccio e Pepe which also excellent with the owner coming out of the kitchen to visit with us. It was a perfect location to create wonderful memories that we will be talking about for years to come.

A Tuscan dream
A lovely farmhouse with breathtaking views and the most charming owners. Getting to the villa is a bit of an off road experience, but it is doable with normal cars. The house is rustic and has its own character. If you are looking for an authentic experience, this is it - if you prefer 5 star hotel luxury, this may not be your perfect choice. We were 16 adults, and enjoyed every second of our stay. All rooms are slightly different and some are smaller than others, so we decided to draw lots for them. A few rooms are with double beds, some with twin beds. Pool is a nice size, but it is not heated, whereas the jacuzzi is. Pool has a fantastic view over the surrounding countryside. Spa environment is pretty unique. Meals provided by Camilla and Alberto left nothing to wish for, and especially the pizza party was something we definitely recommend. The welcome dinner is a good idea if everybody is travelling that day - a great way to start your stay. Plenty of wine available, produced by the owners, and it is of a pretty good quality if you like the Chianti/Sangiovese type of wine. They also produce great olive oil. Camilla speaks good English and can provide a really informative and entertaining guided tour of Siena - highly recommended. The owners actually live on site, so they are available for any questions and support needed.

Incredibly scenic
Incredibly scenic, calm and relaxing location to get away. Location is perfect for chilling at the pool and soaking in the breathtaking views or taking day-trips to Siena (half hour), Florence (1 hour), Pisa (1.5 hours), Livorno beaches (about 2 hours). Alberto met us the first night and made us homemade pasta which was to die for. His sculpture / artwork was all over the house and grounds which is also wonderful. The pizza party was the best pizza we've ever had and was so much fun. Alberto started getting the wood fire hot four hours prior to the dinner and he and Camilla made sure everyone was happy as they served us countless types of slices. They even went very out of their way to accommodate a family member with a lactose allergy and two daughters that are vegetarian. If you like animals, you can visit their chicken coop that also has turkey and ducks, but best of all are a bunch of the sweetest cats that will come by your villa to say hello and their dog that will come by for some attention. We rented the entire main villa. Others have commented that the owners are on the property. They do, in fact, live in an area attached to the villa but we did not find them imposing on any level. There is also a smaller cottage that was rented out to another nice German family. They also shared access to the pool but we barely saw them and when we did it was very nice. In fact, we ended up choosing to all have dinner together for the pizza night. It's probably not the right place for a rowdy group, but for our family (my wife and myself, three teenage daughters, my parents and a family friend) looking to relax, enjoy local cuisine and cook a bit at the villa, relax by the pool, drink wine on one of the several incredible verandas overlooking the mountains and vineyards... we thought it was perfect! Oh... and Alberto's Chianti Classico is incredible. His 8 Euro bottle tastes like a $500 bottle in the US.

Our family loved your special home!
Staying at Camilla's place was a highlight of our three-week trip to Italy for our family of four. The apartment was very large, with everything we needed. We loved spending time on the huge terrace, with amazing views of the hillside. The pool and hot tub were amazing. Our hosts, Camilla and Alberto, were amazing. It's very private and off the main road but it was very easy to go into Siena and elsewhere in the area. Highly recommend.

Stunning Scenery. Chianti Classico. Perfect Pizza.
Came over with family and friends for a 60th birthday celebration. Camilla, Alberto and Ghia helped make our visit even more wonderful, with their helpfulness, plus excellent food and wine. The Pizza Party was the best. Pizza and wine til we burst. The location is perfect. Off the beaten track, but within easy reach of Siena, Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti and San Gimiganno. Florence less than an hour away as well. So peaceful. The scenery from the top deck and poolside took your breath away. Lovely old house and grounds with some eye-opening Alberto sculptures. We had the most wonderful time.

Wonderful Character Lodging Set In Stunning Scenery
What can I say. Everything about our stay was top class. Very comfortable accommodation, superb food and wine all capped off by the most beautiful setting. Tranquility abounded. Within easy reach of Siena, Castellina in Chianti, Radda in Chianti, San Gimignano and even Florence. The friendliness and helpfulness of the hosts was very much appreciated. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Absolute Heaven
This is the most relaxing stay we have ever had anywhere. The large apartment - La Nostra, is like a house! Huge rooms, rustic but very nicely appointed. Spotlessly clean and the BEST views of Tuscany! Alberto and Camilla were amazing hosts, pretty much left us our privacy, but were there when we needed them....we ate their homemade pasta, fresh olives, and woodfired pizza. We ordered the most divine vegetables from their farm.( see photo). The spa amenities were great, which we included as part of our payment. I had a lovely massage, turkish bath, sauna and spas. very clean and well serviced. The kids played with the resident cats and dog, fed the pigs, rabbits and ducks and the rest of their time was spent playing in the gorgeous pool. This is an idyliic getaway for couples, families, or more than one family. It's close to many great towns, about 45mins from Sienna and full of amazing places to eat, wonderful wineyards,

12 happy guests
In an age when travelers are looking for the perfect setting , the best furnishings, the promptest service, the greatest luxury for the price and the highest ranking vacation spot my group of friends chose a farm house vacation in Tuscany. Although Piaggione is well reviewed I would just like to try to describe some of the highlights. For me having a host who understands the relationship between being available and friendly and not overstepping the line is of paramount importance. I selfishly want to be left alone to experience and enjoy but I also, want my needs met promptly. Alberto and his family certainly did that. If anything was needed they got it for our group but never seemed to be in the way. There wasn't anything we needed that we didn't get and it was always provided with grace and generosity underlying their desire for us to enjoy ourselves. About the farm; it is a vineyard with some farm animals including Skunk the friendly dog, an ever growing family of cats and kittens, we named one 'Tomas' in the hopes he would jump in our luggage on our check out, he had brothers and sisters including two kittens born while we were there. They have an old boar and lady goat waiting for a companion the family want to be able to milk her again. And then there were the rows and rows of ripe grapes! Available to us were their home made olive oil and Chianti wine at every reasonable prices...that's pretty authentic, but it doesn't end there, Alberto Inglesi as well as beeing a well-know sculpture does a remarkable healing style massage. I indulged twice in the two weeks we were there. He offers the massage as well as a full spa with hot tub, infra-red sauna and Turkish Steam bath and a really splendid pools and deck with a Million dollar view. We spent many afternoons, mornings and evenings at the pool or enjoying the view. We also had catering done including a breakfast, a pizza party and a Tuscan dinner. The interior of the house is Tuscan rustic, the house was built and created to embrace their region, being very functional for all types of groups and needs without becoming pretentious. Neighbouring restaurants in Vagliagli made for local dining treats and in the two weeks we were there we visited Siena 3 times, Florence twice and several other Chianti towns. On behalf of all 12 my thanks to Alberto,a Camille, Rodi, Gaia and her brothers, it was an unforgettably wonderful vacation!

Amazing Tuscan Holiday!
We stayed in the Main House from May 6 - May 13 (7 bedrooms, 4 baths). We can't imagine a better home base for our Tuscan holiday. Alberto and Camilla were excellent and accommodating hosts from the time we booked until our departure. We were a group of 10 - 6 adults and 4 children. The house was clean and eclectic - and was stocked with everything we needed (including very nice "pack-n-plays" for the two year olds in our group). The view from the upper terrace was absolutely amazing and we spent much of our time there relaxing and enjoying the view of the Tuscan hills. We had arranged the welcome dinner our first night and it was served by Alberto and Camilla - this was one of our best meals in Tuscany - with the highlight being the wild boar pasta (delicious!). We also enjoyed the pizza night prepared in the outdoor wood burning pizza oven. Every pizza that came out was better than the last and ended with a Nutella pizza that was a huge hit with the kids. Both meals included Prosecco and Alberto's Chianti. This is a beautiful region of Tuscany, but more rugged than areas of south of Siena where more rolling hills are the norm. You will often find yourself on gravel roads, but once you embrace this, you come to realize that this is the place to be for a more "authentic" Tuscan experience. Another of our best meals was right down the hill in the town of Vagliagli - La Taverna. While we did day trips to Siena, Florence and San Gimignano, our best days were when we stayed closer to "home" and visited Radda in Chianti and Castellina in Chianti. This was such an enjoyable week and we already miss our "house" in Chianti. For other travelers out there - a few tips or answers to questions we had - use GPS - yes, the house is at the end of a long, gravel road down a hill; there is a European-style wash machine (use YouTube videos to figure out how to operate if you are unfamiliar); plumbing is different - you can't use the shower and tub or wash machine at the same time and expect hot water - this is part of the charm; as with most pools in Europe, they are not heated, so May is a bit chilly for a swim; the home is well equipped with cooking utensils, pots and pans, dishes, wine glasses, etc. There is an American-style coffee maker, but we preferred to use the stovetop Moka pot. There was coffee and sugar in the house, as well as ample spices. We found the best grocery store was the large Coop in Siena, just outside of the city (no gravel road required). Enjoy!

great location, wonderful host
We stayed one week with 14 friends in this great location. We rent the complete villa. All our friends love the site and the ambiance of the house and surroundings. There is enough place to find a quiet place for your own and also to bring all people together sitting at the terraces, around the big table or in front of the fireplaces. The view to the landscape of Chianti/Tuscany is outstanding and a worth in itself. Camilla speaks very well german and Alberto is all the time helpful if you need anything. We need a lot of fire wood, wine or olive oil. We always cooked ourselves but one evening we had their handmade pizza in the brick oven. It was delicious. So, all in all a great location with wonderful hosts for people who appreciate this special freedom to create your own home in this time. Criticism: The knives in the kitchen could be sharper.

Camilla and Alberto were the perfect hosts
Camilla and Alberto were the perfect hosts. The villa was just as the pictures showed and accommodated 10 adults easily. And after a long day of travel to get there, the hot tub was wonderful. Nestled in a working vineyard along a hilltop the views were breathtaking every time we looked out the window or stood on one of the many porches. Alberto is quite the winemaker and his Chanti Classico rivals anything we tasted either dining out or at the nearby wineries. We had a couple renewing their wedding vows with us and to celebrate we had Alberto cook us pizzas! They were so good and as long as we ate, he kept making them. It was so good we later asked for the Tuscany Dinner which was two kinds of pasta and Florentine Steak. Delicious. If I had to do it all over again, I would have Alberto and Camilla cook for us every night, for their food was better than any we could find at any restaurant. We also had rental car trouble and Alberto handled it while we were away in Florence for the day. So nice to feel like a large Italian Family. Definitely will return and encourage you to visit soon!

Stunning views and amazing hosts, a truly Tuscan
A group of 17 of us rented out the entire place for 8 days. We had the best time exploring Chianti and Tuscany from Alberto and Camilla's wonderful villa! Between the all the space in the main house and the Hunting lodge, we never felt like we didn't have enough space. Both patios provided plenty of space to sit and amazing views. There are plenty of bathrooms for a large group and plenty of space to sit down for dinners and meals. The kitchens are fully stocked with what you need to cook, but come prepared with groceries unless you have a car. The closest town is a good 20 minute walk and there is hardly anything in there. If you rent a driver and bus, please note that getting down to the house is bumpy and steep, but possible. Do all of your shopping when you are visiting other towns and be prepared to cook dinners or have them cook dinners, the are no restaurants within in short walking distance. I would highly recommend the pizza by Alberto and any dinners by both of them. Everything they made was pure Tuscan heaven and memorable. Come hungry, they out due themselves. I would also recommend dinner at Dievole, a winery very close to them for one evening. Alberto and Camilla will make you feel so welcome and will make this trip a once in a lifetime experience. Camilla is a terrific guide and I would highly recommend booking her for a full day visit to Siena (a magical city). She also took us to Pienza and Montalcino, she is very knowledgeable and will provide an amazing guided tour. I highly recommend this location and house! The house itself is very comfortable, but slightly rustic. If you are looking for something modern or new, you will not find it here. The beds are comfortable, rooms are clean, and the space is great. I hope you can visit this part of Chianti/Tuscany!

Wonderful Italian escape
We visited Tuscany as a group of 15+ and stayed with Alberto and Camilla! They were the most wonderful hosts and took care of us and every need. Camilla speaks great English and also does tours around Tuscany including Siena (she has a lot of passion for Siena so it was amazing to see it through her eyes). The family prepared many meals for us and every course was divine. The home itself has many different layers and is comfortable for everybody!

Charming, Authentic Tuscan Villa
We spent the last two weeks of August, 2016, at the villa, hosted by Camilla, Alberto and family. The trip represented the culmination of a wish I’d had for many years, to spend time in Tuscany with our adult children. We had an absolutely terrific time at the villa! One important thing to understand is that the villa is run on ecologically-friendly, organic principles. In fact, we understand that TripAdvisor has them rated at the Platinum level (high) for the degree of environmental sensibility they demonstrate, with 12 kW solar panels, etc. What this translates to for visitors is a genuine taste of the Tuscan country-side… lush greenery all around you, warm dry heat, and abundant animal life, both human tended and not. You can be awakened by roosters crowing, and you’ll hear the geese and pigeons who live there. The rabbits who wander through the property in the daytime are remarkably tame and quiet, but you’ll also occasionally see and hear the wild boars that are around as well. During our stay, Alberto had to erect electric fencing to keep them out of the vineyards, but their presence didn’t affect our visit at all… Quite the opposite, as one of the camera junkies on the trip was out to try to get a picture of them… Only semi-successfully! One area that was beautifully laid out (manicured) and maintained was the pool and the jet tub. Fantastic! We spent a lot of time using this facility, and it was universally loved by our kids. I was hitting both of these after my runs, and enjoyed them thoroughly. The jet tub is maintained at body temperature, so it is not like a conventional hot tub per se, but that was what made it lovely – we had lots of heat from the Tuscan weather, we didn’t want it in the tub. The jets in the tub, and their setup was novel and very enjoyable. The absolute highlight for us was the pizza dinner offered up by Alberto, Camilla and family. It was expensive but worth every single Euro… for good reason! Alberto and his sons need to heat the outdoor wood-fired oven to 800C (takes about 4 hours) then let the temperature settle to 500C to turn out pizzas off the oven deck at a prodigious rate! These are build-to-order, customized as we like them --- appetizer pizzas (white) with other appies (we loved the deep-fried sage!) and prosecco, followed by main course pizzas (red, built as you like) followed by Nutella dessert pizzas. This is a treat not to be missed!

Rustic destination
Piaggione di Serravale was a beautiful and comfortable birthday visit. Rustic means not hotel like, more home like- warm and competent hosts and an experience to live (for a short time) amidst stone walls and antique woodwork. Beautiful surroundings. A working home/hobby ranch, winery, and olive oil producer. The hosts work very hard to provide the best accommodations. Alberto provided an amazing array of real pizza pies. Camilla kept a close tab on use of the home, helping us inderstand how to best manage our visit (original custom woodwork and hardware, organic farm life). This is real country living, with all of its adjustments. Dirt roads, wild deer, incredible sunrises, fresh eggs from the coop. Its real, and completely separate from big city tourism. Its easy to romanticize the rustic Tuscan life. Its reality (including hard work, and a difficult economy, complicated organic production scenario) is there if you're interested. This is a great destination for folks looking for a taste of Tuscany, especially Chianti Classico. A hotel can provide predictable luxuries. Adjust your expectations for something less standard, and you'll be pleasantly surprised and you'll probably want to go back. Reading the guest book, many do visit repeatedly. I hope I will. This place is special.
