Downstairs has new paver patio that provides outdoor coastal living at is best. Upstairs has 3 BR 2 BA ~ 1485 Square Ft. Downstairs is ~ 3000 Square Ft of covered space with Porch Swings, Fire Pit, BBQ Grill, and Audio Entertainment System, and downstairs bath. All areas have colored lights that the guests control as they desire. Close to the beach and ICW, this house is centrally located on the Island for easy access to all shopping, dining, and other attractions. The house sleeps 6 comfortably. If more than 6 guests, please contact us for additional fees of $85/guest/night

Oak island getaway

Beautiful, bright, fun home in a convenient location! Walking distance to beach, ice cream/donut shop, & Publix. Gorgeous downstairs open air spot to hang out with swings and a hammock. Loved this place!

Trip of a lifetime

I stayed here on a family vacation and it was an awesome time. The kids had a great time going to the beach. We also went fishing and it did not disappoint. The house was perfect. I was impressed by the way it was built. It has many places to hang out and have fun together. I would highly recommend staying here.

Awesome Property

A long weekend getaway with our family and this property is absolutely amazing. Plenty of common areas for relaxing outside. Inside very nice and clean, well organized. Close to the grocery stores, restaurants, bars and beaches. Tad, our host was very hospitable, just great to work with. Overall we had a great time and again the house was everything it said it was and more. We will be back, Thanks again for everything

Great stay

We had a lovely stay at the beach house. The outside areas are perfect for relaxing or entertaining. The neighborhood was quiet and nice. Easy to walk to ice cream, tacos and bbq. We really enjoyed our stay!

Great house, even better host

We had such a great time at this house. We rented for a couple months while waiting to move into our new home. Beautiful home, great set-up, and great neighborhood for families. Tad is fantastic-extremely responsive and nice. Highly recommend!

Pristine, FUN, useable vacation home

From the first time we pulled up it was clean, in order, and with the check in information easy to access. This place just felt like a place where happy memories are made-from the comfortable furniture (best bed I have slept in for months while traveling with work), to the well thought out patio area with swings, grill, fire pit, seating and a corn hole area. While the pictures show what to expect, I felt the house was more beautiful in person. The weather wasn’t perfect as is to be expected so we were able to utilize the covered patio area and enjoy the outside. The owners also checked in regularly to make sure everything was going smoothly and honestly we had no issues or questions as everything was very well thought out on the owners end. We were lucky enough to have utilized the property as a place to have a small lunch after our intimate beach wedding on Oak Island beach and we can’t wait to come back for our anniversary! 100% worth the money and would 100% recommend to everyone

Perfect place for a getaway with family or friends

Home is very convenient to restaurants, beach, little shops, and a short ride to Southport. The outside space is amazing and perfect for entertainment. Inside the home is clean and cozy. Owners are just a call or text away if you have any questions with anything. We will definitely be going back.

Family Beach Trip

We absolutely loved our stay at this property and the location was just perfect for our family getaway. This was our first time visiting Oak Island and had such a wonderful time. The property was clean with all the amenities you would look for when searching for a place to stay near the beach. Tad was wonderful to work with and ensured our stay was exceptional. The pictures do not do the property justice.

Perfect weekend get away!

We stayed here over Easter weekend. This is a great house with fun things for adults and kids. We used the fire pit, swings, played corn hole and relaxed on the property. The beach is a short walk. The house is immaculate and Tad is attentive to anything you might need. We will definitely be back!

Our annual family beach trip.our beach trip came to a halt

Our annual beach trip came to a halt when Isaias decided to cause havoc on Oak Island and our rental was no longer habitable 2nd to much damage. My daughter was trying to find something close by as She had recently moved there and we were excited to see her new town. She found the perfect home, not too far from her home and we were truly blessed that it was open that week. I messaged the owner, and he answered right away. The home is nicely decorated with a beach theme—we (4 adults and 2 teens) were very comfortable for the week. The outdoor space is great and we spent a lot of our time there. Everyone enjoyed the hammock. The outside shower was a favorite of my sons’. I could go and on about the extras this house has: tremendous outside table where we would unload our beach gear each day and the fridge downstairs where we kept water, the downstairs bathroom that saved going upstairs, the neighbors were so friendly. Upstairs, the tv had the largest screen I’ve watched! We had several opportunities to communicate with the owner and he was always prompt in answering text and calls. Isaias did some damage to the house that was unknown until a big downpour (and did not interrupt our vacation). The owner responded quickly and secured someone to make the repair and even offered us complimentary days. We enjoyed our stay so much and will definitely look forward to another vacation at Tranquil Harbor.

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful time at this adorable beach house! It was so charming and very clean. They have everything that you could possibly need. I definitely over-packed! 😄 We absolutely loved the porch swings and hammock, and my girls enjoyed playing under the porch area and around the house.They enjoyed the ice cream shop that is just up the street as well! Tad was always prompt at answering any of my questions and extremely helpful.

Excellent stay!

Tad was wonderful with communication and ease of rental (ie property logistics, accessing amenities, etc.) Access to the beach, grocery stores, and restaurants were very close. The property was very clean, welcoming, charming, easy, and fun for the 6 of us and the dogs. Wonderful location and rental experience! Highly recommend.

We had a fantastic time. Great house, great owner. Just as advertised in the pictures.

We came here from NY to get away from the pandemic and relax. We were so lucky to pick this house as it was great. Beautiful house and our girls loved the swings and we loved the downstairs area with the lights and the stereo. Tad the owner was very responsive and attentive. Highly recommend this house. We will definitely be back!

Best Beach House ever!

If this beach house doesn't have everything you want you are hard to please! So clean, so nice! The house and kitchen perfect! Everything you need to cook all your beach meals! Blenders for smoothies! Even a crock pot! The beds are so comfy! Huge TV but who has time to watch? So much to do just at the house! Downstairs is like relaxation city! You can do everything down there - grill on a world class grill! Eat your meals. Relax. Enjoy music. Take a wonderful outside shower! Play games! Nap on a hammock! Four bikes to buzz around on! Fire pit! You name it! We were a small group - only three adults but sometimes you need to get away from each other - no problem! Lots of space to be by yourself - read or whatever - some worked (no fun) but there is privacy too! This is the furthest we have ever stayed from the beach but actually liked it better. The beach was not far away at all and the parking was plentiful and never an issue. At night we would walk to the beach and on the way back stop for ice cream. Seriously, Tad's place thinks of everything. There was even a fire pit! We used it one night just because it was there! Got us thinking it might be the perfect place for a winter get away too! There were never any issues but a couple times I had to call Tad with a question and he was Johnny on the spot. He was even on vacation and still answered the phone! Walked me through a technical issue with patience! I would recommend this house to all my friends and family without hesitation. Our family looks forward to renting again next year.

Beach gem

We loved our stay here! The bottom porch area gave us just the relaxation we needed with our baby. It was great on the rainy days we had, we enjoyed watching the storms from under there. The icecream shop was fun to walk to as well and 49th beach access was easy to get to and not crowded.

Wonderful Home for Family Beach Entertaining!!

Oak Island has been like a second home for my family and I for 35 years. My parents have a home on the island but we needed extra space for a few days over the 4th of July week. This home was absolutely perfect!! Tad and his wife could not have been more accommodating and welcoming. The house is decorated beautifully with a beach inspired theme. As much as we loved the indoor space, we loved the outdoor space even more. It is entertaining perfection! We even hosted our family to a low country boil and had more than enough seating for everyone. The best part about the outdoor space was the breeze. There is something about the lot placement that allows for an amazing breeze that feels like you are even closer to the ocean. Overall, we loved this house and will definitely reserve again in the future when needed!!

Lovely home with great outdoor space for relaxing

My family enjoyed our stay at Tad's place; the interior is bright and cheery and clean, everything is well-organized (and it's clear what you can use and what is for the owners only, which we appreciated), and it's super well-stocked with kitchen, beach, and vacation essentials, as well as some baby gear (e.g. pack-and-play). Plus Tad was quick to answer my questions. But what really makes this place is the outdoor area with it's swings, grill, outdoor table, and firepit. With a very young child in our group, we weren't going out at night, and having all that space for hanging out outside in the evening was so nice. It's probably a 10-15 minute walk to the closest beach entrance, but (pro tip!) we rented bikes, so it took us under 5 minutes to get there. The outdoor shower was much appreciated when we returned. The closest beach isn't the nicest on the island, but it's totally fine, and the house is close to a grocery store and a few restaurants, and walking distance to an ice cream shop. Overall, we were very happy, and would stay here again if we return to Oak Island.

Great Family Friendly Spot

We traveled to Oak Island with my two boys, 10 and 7 and my In-laws. The Turtle's Nest was the perfect setup for our family with the split floor plan. We loved the upper porches to enjoy our coffee in the morning and swinging down below after days at the beach. The beach is a quick bike or drive (with toys and chairs, etc. it was a bit too far to walk). The beach was incredible, quiet and clean and perfect for family time. The outdoor shower was great for getting cleaned up when we got back. Don't miss out on the Monday morning farmer's market, it's a quick walk across the main road to the park. For those who have to do a little work while away the wi-fi worked great, and we definitely used the big screen to watch a bit of the Olympics at night. Thanks Tad for everything!

Beautiful home and had everything we needed and much more! It was perfect for our family of 6!

I absolutely loved the hammock and swings available to us to use. The downstairs was a great space for us to all hang out and enjoy. The lights and music were very entertaining for our children. The owner definitely has thought of everything you could need or want available to you to use. The house was very clean and well equipped. I loved allege seating outside available to you to go out and have a cup of coffee in the morning. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. I loved that the bathrooms were stocked with shampoo for us to use and the kitchen as well. Overall it was a great place to vacation and we will definitely be returning!

Amazing!

My family and I loved staying in the turtle nest. Tad is very flexible and the house has everything you need and more! We loved the downstairs area, we grilled out and enjoy the breeze of the beach at nights with the amazing lights around the deck. I strongly recommend you stay at this place you will be surprised how close the beach is and all the restaurants around the area. We are definitely coming back next year if not, sooner!

Group of 5 loved our stay - Super Nice, Clean, Well-Appointed

Exceptional rental! Immaculate inside and out. The downstairs area was amazing. Before we even arrived, owner was texting helpful info about getting inside and setup. We've stayed in a few dozen rental places over the years and all agreed this was nicest, cleanest, best appointed. Don't laugh, but maybe my favorite feature was the outdoor hot shower with not only an attachment to spray the sand out of your kid's butt crack but ALSO a clean functioning toilet in the stall. Really nice layout, comfortable beds, has everything you need for a wonderful beach vacation! Highly recommend.

Really Awesome!

The house was incredibly clean and in like-new condition. The outside seating area, sound-system, fire-pit, and grilling area is one of the big highlights of this house. My group of 6 had an awesome time just hanging out there for several hours. The house is also within short walking distance to the beach and plenty of other stores, restaurants, attractions, etc. The owner is very nice and will be in touch with you ASAP if you have any questions about anything. I would highly recommend renting this house and I certainly plan on trying to stay there again in the future. It would definitely make for a great place for a little family getaway.
