This beautiful 1920's Federal style house has been completely remodeled for the sole purpose of ensuring the comfort of large gathering. We took down walls to create more open spaces and added bathrooms. Located on a corner lot, one block from Lake Geneva and 3-5 blocks from everything else you want to do-eating, shopping, boating, etc. this house is the perfect retreat for your family reunion or large group. Everything from the kitchenware to the luxury bedding is new and beautiful with a designers touch and great attention to detail. The private fenced backyard with screened 10x14 Gazebo has a comfy sitting area and lower lever deck for outdoor dining. A large weber grill is waiting for your favorite recipes. Inside the back door is a fully stocked chefs kitchen with triple ovens and antique workbench island. You will walk through a small butlers pantry to the formal dining room with 10ft. farmhouse table, seagrass chairs and monumental captains chairs. The living room has it all! Abundant seating, 65" Flat screen TV with expanded cable, antique pool table and windows, galore. The windows connect with the large wrap around 4 season porch that faces towards the lake. There are plenty of places to enjoy your morning coffee, evening glass of wine or maybe a game of foosball. The main floor can sleep up to 7 with 2 Queen bedrooms, one with private bath and one with a bathroom a few steps away and a twin/twin trundle bed on the porch. The porch has been completely outfitted with blinds for privacy and shade and ceiling fans for your comfort. Upstairs, there are 4 very large king bedrooms, each with their own bathroom. All the bedrooms have premium mattresses, gel pillows, and luxurious linens for a great night sleep. The Main house will sleep up to 15 people. For parties larger than 15 or if you just want to spread out, "The Barracks" is a separate building a few steps behind the main house. It is the perfect "escape" for the kids with sleeping for up to 8 in twins, a bathroom, TV and DVD.

Great place to stay.

Great beds and bed rooms. Kitchen had what we needed for cooking. Plenty of space in house. Nice to have so many bathrooms and showers. Barricks was a bit musty smelling though. All in all we really enjoyed our stay. Location is great!

Great Stay at the South Shore House

The house was perfect for our group of 13. Every family having their own bedroom and bathroom was amazing. The location is great. A very easy walk to the lake and downtown. The house was well stocked and all the spaces worked out really well for when we all wanted to be together or for those times that we had separate activities happening. Tisha is an amazing host. She was very responsive, including proactively making sure that we were aware of severe weather approaching and to make sure we had access to be safe. The whole family was very happy. We've already booked for next summer.

Fabulous Vacation

This was the most wonderful birthday/ family stay ever. The house was so fun and unique and there was plenty of room for the 15 of us. Easy walk to town and beach. Tisha was a great host and easy to communicate with. Would love to stay there again in the future.

Perfection

What a lovely experience! Host was helpful and responsive. House is large and well appointed, perfect for our group of families. Kids had a few spots to play and have a safe “sleepover” experience. Lots of space to lounge, play and eat. It’s winter so we didn’t get to enjoy the outdoor space, but we talked about wanting to come back and enjoy the yard and short walk to the lake and all the amenities of downtown. The rooms are perfect for a large group, with 5 of the well-sized bedrooms being en suite. Wonderful stay!

Great place for family gathering!!

We brought two sides of families together from Wisconsin and Texas here over Christmas! We had an amazing time gathering, cooking, eating, talking, and playing games!! We even brought in an actor from the Murder Mystery Company and had our own little crime scene game. Perfect place for all of that. Very clean and very well stocked!! Great host.

A great house for a big group a block away from Lake Geneva

We had a group of 7 adult couples in their late 40's, 2 teenagers, and a dog. 6 of the 7 rooms have on suite bathrooms. The detatched just a few steps away from the room. One room is a bunk beds room with a bathroom called the Barracks. My wife and I made it work as our bedroom. Was kind of like having our own suite. A good place to get away or a great place for kids to stay. People were amazed at how many bathrooms and extra spaces there were to talk, play games in the house, and places to lounge outside. The pool table and foosball table were popular, and at the dining room table we fit 14 adults around for a game one night. The kitchen is on the smaller side though we made it work for every meal. It has 3 ovens! Pretty much anything you need is there. Communication was great throughout the process. We really appreciate Tisha's accommodations and hospitality for our group. Made things easier for us and more enjoyable for all. Also, the location is very ideal. A short walk from the Lake and downtown, near the lake trail to walk further. There's even a miniture golf course nearby. If our group were to gather again in Lake Geneva, I think we'd all agree we would be staying here again. Was a wonderful weekend with friends. Great house for families

The house itself was perfect with bathrooms attached to every room. Bunk house was perfect for the kids. The house is on a busy street so if you’re a light sleeper you want a room toward the back of the house to minimize street noise. Air conditioner broke, but Tisha was responsive and fixed it quickly. The location isn’t bad, but the public beach is a walk and costs $ per person so if your group wants easy, regular swimming it’s not ideal for that. Overall a great house and responsive, communicative owner.

House was big and well stocked, but upstairs a/c did not work and landscaping outside was overgrown. House is showing its age. Water pressure in the kitchen was barely a trickle and manager said "sorry" that's just the way it is.

Our stay at South Shore cottage was prefect for our family that consisted of two 3 year old's and 9 adults and 1 88 pound boxer. There was plenty of space for all of us to gather as well as comfortably retreat to our bedrooms. It was 2 blocks from the lake and a few more to town. I would definitely stay here again.

South Shore House Delivers!

The rooms were as beautiful as advertised. The dining and living rooms + porch were very accommodating to my large family and 3 little ones under 5! We loved the location and proximity to Lake Geneva. It’s a gorgeous area and the house served us well. PS — the outside grounds are lovely and may be due for some trimming.

Great weekend away

This was the first time our group of 7 women brought partners and children on our annual ladies weekend, and we couldn't have asked for a better house to be in. Plenty of space, a well-appointed kitchen, centrally located (my toddler loved the playground just down the street)...the whole process was smooth and easy, which made our weekend together so much fun.

Outstanding family vacation

This was our 1st extended family vacation. We had 6 adults and 6 kids (aged 4-12). The house was PERFECT! The rooms were big and comfy! Lots of bathrooms to accommodate everyone. The kids loved the back house with all the bunk beds. The patio was super comfy and welcoming for adult hang out after kids went to bed. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the pots/pans/plates, etc we needed. We definitely would love to stay here again next year!!!

Hi, I'm Tisha. My background is in fashion, antiques and home decorating. For those of you familiar with Lake Geneva, I used to own a store downtown called "I Love Funky's". I left retail to begin a new adventure in vacation rentals. I have also been in the furniture business, which gives me the ability to furnish and decorate creatively. I am so excited about bringing South Shore House to the vacationing public.

Why they chose this property

I don't know how we got so lucky to find this jewel, so close to everything, but I'm so glad we did. This house had been run as a Bed & Breakfast for many years until the owner retired and decided to downsize. What is so great about this house, besides the location, is the size of the rooms. They are HUGE! The living room is a great place for a large group to gather in front of the fireplace or shoot a game of pool. Of course, it wouldn't be a vacation if you didn't have a big porch to relax in. Walk one block, your at the lake, 2 more blocks, you can rent a boat, 2 more blocks and you're in the center of downtown.

What makes this property unique

I just got back from a long road trip, buying antiques for South Shore House. Not your grandmas antiques, but really fun, cool stuff like the original circus canvas that measures 8'x9'. Since I love to decorate and this house has so many rooms, I'm pretty sure I have died and gone to decorating heaven!
