About this property

VILLA OLEANDER is a luxury, air conditioned villa with 3 bedrooms (all with en suite bathrooms) in Mougins, sleeping 6-7. Two of the bedrooms are upstairs and one downstairs.
The open plan kitchen, living room and dining room make for a wonderfully convivial vacation space for a family or group of friends.

Set within a mature, south-facing, Mediterranean garden with breath-taking views over the Old Village (15-20 mins walk), the Bay of Cannes and the Esterel Mountains.

Just 20 minutes from Nice Airport and 6km from Cannes.

The terraced gardens are beautifully landscaped and secluded with high hedges and include a private, heated swimming pool, pool house, table tennis and full sized boules court.
We also have a well equipped games room.

The villa has private parking for 3 cars and is secured by remote controlled electric gates.

We pride ourselves on excellent communication and service, and exceeding expectations.

The wonderful view has defined the standard for which we have tried to follow in all that we have done at the villa.

Children are very welcome at Villa Oleander and we have plastic boules for the boules court and plenty of inflatables for the heated pool.
We accept well behaved pets with prior approval.

Villa Oleander has the perfect view of the medieval village of Mougins, famous in the French Riviera for its superb restaurants, art galleries and surrounding golf courses.
Thanks to excellent road links, Mougins is only 20 minutes from Nice Airport, yet retains its peaceful village charm.
Only 6km from Cannes and the Mediterranean Sea, Mougins is also home to the 427 hectare National Parc de La Valmasque and Lake Fontmerle, giving it a semi rural feel.
At a height of 260 metres, Mougins is beautifully maintained, its winding pedestrian streets filled with art galleries and over a dozen fabulous restaurants. Pablo Picasso chose Mougins as the place to spend his last 12 years, and his studio was in the Old Village. Other famous people who have chosen to live in Mougins include Fernand Léger, Jean Cocteau, Yves Saint Laurent, Winston Churchill and Édith Piaf.
Alain Ducasse and Roger Vergé have managed restaurants in the village and now, famous chef Denis Fetisson, owns two of our many wonderful restaurants.

A perfect Gem

We had the most amazing couple of days at the Villa, we didn't really feel the need to leave because it had everything there ..the pool, games room, table tennis even yoga mats. We did explore a little bit during our short stay there , we had a lovely walk in a beautiful park and we did dine out at the georgous little town Mougins well worth a visit , we will definitely be staying again for longer next time !

A Blissful Two-Week Retreat at Villa Oleander

Our time at the villa was truly unforgettable. The picturesque surroundings and the overall comfort of the villa made our stay exceptional. The villa's interior was cozy and tastefully decorated, providing a warm and inviting atmosphere. The outdoor area was equally impressive, and we spent countless hours by the pool and enjoying the stunning garden. Our teenagers, enjoyed their time immensely, and they wanted to make sure to highlight the playroom:) During our stay we found ourselves spending a significant amount of time in the kitchen. Whether it was preparing breakfests or dinners with fresh, local ingredients, or simply enjoying a glass of wine while chatting and cooking together, the kitchen played a central role in our daily activities. It truly enhanced our overall experience and added an extra layer of warmth to our stay. We were also pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful welcome gifts that awaited us upon our arrival. Great option for a high-quality family stay in southern France

Great location in the upper hills north of Cannes. Splendid views towards the old town of Mougins and the Mediterranean sea, especially from the balcony, which served as main breakfast and dinner location for us. A very well maintained holiday home for up to six people, fully equipped and featuring a nice swimming pool (our kids' and grandparents' most favorite place), a terrain de petanque (everybody's second favorite place), an open air lounge terrace under a palm tree and a billard table inside the house. A car/motorbike should be rented to get the most out of this place, from which many really cool places of interest are within easy reach for those who like to drive through a lovely hilly countryside. Special mentioning is deserved with regard to the managing agency (Emma) and the cleaning lady, who are first class.

Absolutely awesome!

I have been visited so many places but this is absolutely awesome. We enjoyed every minute of our stay, there are so many details which makes you feel like you stay in your homme or even better :) there is all you need for unforgettable holidays, relaxing areas, well maintened house and garden, pool and even gaming room! With so many attractions around you won't want to leave. Alastair as the owner was quickly responsive even last minute decision, Emma as the manager was very helpful and always smiley. Well, this is masterpiece!!

Beautiful Villa very close to Mougins old town

Villa Oleander is a lovely villa close to Mougins in a nice neighbourhood. For us, it was not walking distance to the old town in the August heat with the hills, but it is an easy two minute drive by car (and there is a large, free car park as you enter the old town so never any parking issues) and if you don't wish to drive then Uber taxis are readily available. The villa, pool and garden are all immaculately maintained and fully equipped with everything you could need including the small touches you would find in a hotel, like robes and slippers. There is a welcome pack on arrival of all essentials like milk, butter, juice etc. The villa is also well stocked with items such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, kitchen roll and so on. There are several supermarkets in the area and a nice bakery a very short distance away. Emma, the property manager is lovely to deal with and will respond to any query or request extremely efficiently and quickly. She will happily give recommendations and advice on shopping, restaurants, etc. All in all, the villa is exactly the same as the photos and description and has an amazing view of the old town from the terrace, living area and two of the bedrooms. A great find which we would recommend and stay in again!

Beautiful Villa

The villa was gorgeous and certainly lived up to our expectations. The gardens and pool were beautiful, and we spent most afternoons lounging around it. The view over the old town of Mougins was spectacular whether eating breakfast or dinner. Numerous recommendations for restaurants and things to do nicely collated in the information pack. We can't recommend this property highly enough, and hope to return one day.

beautiful property

This house is in a great position, very close to the old town of Mougins - a 2 minute drive (We thought we might try walking, but the lack of pavements and driving style of the locals, put us off that idea after the first attempt!). The house is immaculate and so are the beautiful grounds, Emma is excellent support and very responsive, and we also want to call out the hard work of Christal (apologies, not sure of spelling) who came to clean twice a week. The view of Mougins old town is amazing, and you also have a view of the sea. There are many wonderful restaurants in Mougins, we particularly liked sitting on the terrace at L'Amandier. We have previously stayed in Cannes and Chateauneuf, and would describe this place as somewhere between the busy of Cannes and the peace and quiet of Chateauneuf. Thank you for the opportunity of staying in this beautiful house.

Absolutely stunning retreat!

Wonderfully appointed villa retreat. Emma, the property manager, greeted us and helped us settle into the property after a chaotic and delayed day of travel. The villa and grounds are beautiful and private. It was a wonderful escape! A group of 7 of us, we found that there was enough space for alone time but enough room for us to gather together. The pool was perfect. It was the perfect spot from which to explore Mougins and all the Côte d’Azur has to offer. Everything was clean and well appointed. The owners were wonderful to work with. We highly recommend this villa and look forward to a return visit!

A quality villa in an idyllic location.

We were returning guest to this beautiful villa. As a small group of very fussy travellers we were pleased to see that Villa Oleander continues to impress. Beautifully maintained pool and gardens and a view from the terrace across to Moujin that is unmatched in the area. Serenity within easy reach of some of the most noted restaurants in the area. You may not want to leave! We will certainly return.

Great location and awsome view

The listing and photos were very accurate, but nothing can do justice to the view across the valley except being there. The house is very nice with a magical MBR with French doors in 2 directions. The house is also very well located near with easy access to Cannes and to the north. Dinner on the terrace off the LR/kitchen is worth the trip alone. The owners and local management made everything easy. Highly recommended.

What a villa!

We had the good fortune to stay at the villa for 6 nights in early July 2017. Our stay was very last minute, but Alastair responded to my request very quickly and was terrific about making sure everything was ready for us the same day! The house manager Emma was very responsive, and checked in with us en route to the villa to ensure that the begs were configured for our family. It was such a great surprise to have "the essentials" there for us upon arrival- milk, cheese, bread, fruit, juice, etc. Emma provided us with restaurant and beach suggestions, and the villa guide also contained a lot of great info on the area. I can't say enough about Emma's care throughout our stay- she's a gem! The villa is really amazing, and the photos don't do it justice. They've really thought of everything. The beds were comfy, air conditioning in every room, robes and pool towels were provided. The pool house has a mini fridge and sink, and there are Bluetooth speakers in the house and pool house. The pool was fantastic! We used it everyday, and there are zero gravity loungers as well as more traditional ones to choose from. Our boys enjoyed playing table tennis and using the pool table. The kitchen is well equipped and we ended up cooking more than planned. It was just so relaxing to sit on the terrace and look at Mougins and the med in the distance. We were quite happy with the location as it was close enough to go see sights in the area, but allowed us to stay in a calm and peaceful setting. We've been fortunate to stay in many vacation rentals around the world, and this really has to be about the best one we've found! I would highly recommend this villa to anyone!

Wonderful again!

We last stayed at Villa Oleander 2 years ago and we were very excited to be coming back. As before, the garden and pool area beautifully maintained - but I must congratulate the owners on the interior “makeover” which is gorgeous. Lots of little extra touches that make the difference and Emma, the new manager, is a real find as well. Villa Oleander has all the comforts of “home” but set up very much with guests in mind. Dinner at Paloma was a highlight.

Fantastic Rental

Everything was wonderful about this villa. The position , the views, the facilities! The manager, Emma was so lovely whilst being professional and helpful. Stunning villa with an amazing view

Six of us, three couples, spent a relaxing winter break over new year in the villa. The villa sits on the pretty hillside facing the hilltop village of Mougins and the sea beyond. The villa itself is very stylishly decorated, with a traditional Provence feel, but also has all the mod cons. It was also spotlessly clean and well maintained. The grounds offer a very private pool and lovely shaded petanque court and table tennis table, as well as a relaxing deck area with good quality seating. If you needed to escape the sun or amuse kids their is also a games room, with a pool table and games console. Everything is well chosen and 5 star standard. The fantastic restaurants in the village are just a 15 - 20 minute walk or 5 minute taxi away. Finally best of all is THE VIEW, which is truly stunning day and night! A great base from which to explore the Côte d'Azur. Can't wait to return!

Fantastic property in a beautiful location

The villa was immaculate and the welcome was tremendously friendly. We were delayed due to traffic and grocery shopping but received calming texts telling us not to worry. We were in contact with the local resource as well as the owners during the stay, and both sides were very helpful and informative. Mougins was a delight to explore, and we did plenty of exploring down in Cannes, St Paul de Vence, Grasse, Eze and one day trip West down to St Tropez. We carved out some time to rediscover talents at bocce ball and table tennis, and we were so glad we did. The villa is amazing and we would come back in a heartbeat.

Our Home in France

Our Home in France!! Bev and I (“young” widow friends) spent 3 wonderful weeks in Villa Oleander! I had a knee that was misbehaving so we spent more time than we had planned in our home with “the million dollar view”! What a treat that was....dining alfresco on our terrace with candles, flowers and wine! Our visiting friend from Montreal was enchanted! The entire house was lovely and our bedrooms, very comfortable.....great pillows! Our kitchen was a pleasure to work in. We had everything we needed and more. We love cooking and food shopping was NOT disappointing. Visits to the Carrefour for staples and wine...Le Grand Frais for everything else and the upscale shops in Valbonne for everything else and more! They had wonderful prepared meals, pates and cheese. And, of course, always a stop at the Patisserie on Ave. Saint Basile for our daily baguette. I think we became “French foodies” ! Alizataxi was a godsend! She drove us to the door of La Place de Mougins where we had a delightful dinner. She also took us on a 4 hour tour along the Mediterranean ending up in Eze..... Beautiful! Lunches out were always a treat. L’Amandier de Mougins was very special. We also loved Resto des Arts (moules et frites) and Broche de Fer ( Soupe au Poisson). Moulin de Mougins was very disappointing. Lucy, the delightful English girl who came to clean couldn’t do enough for us. Claire was superb. She went to great lengths to make our stay perfect. We had a few travel changes due to “the knee” and she was most helpful with those. We loved our stay in our “Home in France” and would love to return!! Villa Oleander is a special place!

Typically French, superbly maintained

We had a wonderful holiday at the Villa late Sept/early Oct, with glorious weather. The Villa with an immaculately maintained private spacious garden and pool is located in a semi-rural setting with an uninterrupted view of the lovely hilltop village of Mougins, about 15 minutes walk away. With no nearby passing traffic, everything was peaceful day and night. The typically French accommodation is very comfortable (including the sleeping accommodation) with a high level of convenience and maintained to a very high standard. The air conditioning system worked well. The outdoor dining facility on the terrace, with views of Mougins is, a real plus point where we spent many hours. Stunning Cannes, with its many festivals, is only 6 km away and there are many other interesting places to visit - don't miss St-Paul-de-Vence. In summary, a wonderful place to relax and re-charge the batteries, in a lovely part of France.

Hi! I`m Alastair. My wife, Sue, and I bought Villa Oleander in Mougins with Paul and his wife, Leony, in 2007. I have known Paul since I was 4 years old, and he and I manage all the issues involved in renting our villa out to others. I am a chartered accountant and he is a general dental practitioner.

Why they chose this property

We wanted to find a location and villa that we would never tire of revisiting. That location had to be the South of France because of its year round appeal - there is so much more to do than just sunbathe. Mougins, I think, has the perfect location on the Riviera - centrally placed for Monaco, Cannes, St Tropez and everywhere in between. Our villa feels like it is in the heart of Provence, yet it is only 10 minutes from the Med and 20 minutes from Nice International Airport. Oh, and it just happens to have a picture perfect medieval village famed for its excellent restaurants! Not to mention the golf courses!

What makes this property unique

Equally, Villa Oleander has the perfect position in Mougins. It is within easy walking distance of the Old Village yet perched up to have the perfect view over the village with the Mediterranean Sea in the background and the Esterel mountains to the west. All the main rooms open to this south facing view, and there is nothing quite like watching the sun going down and the village light up at night whilst drinking a glass of wine on the balcony. I will gladly email a panoramic picture of our view - it really is exceptional! We are very proud of our villa and love to stay there with our families, but take pleasure from the fact that when we can`t be there, others are enjoying it too. I am more than happy to chat with anyone who thinks they may be interested in staying there.
