About this property

VILLA RAFALS - JEWEL IN THE MIDST OF NATURE

Chalet Els Rafals is an exclusive traditional Mallorcan villa set in an idyllic location in the Serra de Tramuntana, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This chalet offers a unique experience, blending the history of its original construction with a 2008 renovation that retains local stone and authentic designs. The spacious, rustic villa, spread over two floors, is perfect for a holiday in a charming and unique setting.

Upon entering, you step into a spacious living-dining area, which connects to a fully equipped kitchen with modern facilities, providing maximum comfort during your stay. In this same area, there is a second lounge with satellite TV, international channels, and free WIFI.

The ground floor features the kitchen, a bathroom with a shower, a cozy lounge, and a bedroom with twin beds and an en-suite bathroom. The walls display pieces from a private art gallery, adding a special touch to the decor. From here, there’s access to the upper floor, which houses a large double room with an en-suite bathroom. Continuing down the hallway, there is another charming double room with mountain views and a private bathroom with a shower. At the end of the hall, there is a twin room with vintage style and a full bathroom with a shower. All rooms in Chalet Els Rafals are equipped with large fans, enjoying a pleasant summer climate due to the location.

Doors from the lounge lead to a partially covered front terrace, featuring an outdoor lounge and dining area – ideal for enjoying the stunning mountain views and the tranquility of the countryside. The terrace provides access to the pool and solarium area, perfect for relaxation and immersing yourself in nature. Next to the kitchen, there’s a barbecue area built with local stone and an outdoor dining area perfect for al fresco dinners.

All bedrooms are equipped with air conditioning for both cooling and heating. In line with local energy-saving initiatives, the villa’s air conditioning is set to operate in all units from 9:00 pm to 8:00 am and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

The chalet offers exceptional views of the Serra de Tramuntana, a natural paradise recognized as a World Heritage site for its beauty. The mountains form a splendid backdrop, and you can also see the historic estate of Fartaritx. The area is ideal for nature walks and connecting with the landscape.

Chalet Els Rafals is set on a large mountain plot surrounded by hedges, plants, and olive trees, ensuring complete privacy. Its privileged location in the mountains of Pollensa makes it an ideal choice for those seeking peace and seclusion, just a few minutes' drive from the charming old town of Pollensa.

From La Rafal Pollensa, where the chalet is located, you can drive to the old town of Pollensa in about 5 km. In the evening, guests can enjoy a wide variety of activities in the town and a rich culinary scene, ranging from local tapas to high-end restaurants.

Historic Pollensa offers numerous quality restaurants and small cafés. The town, rich in history, reveals its charm on every corner. The Sunday market is particularly vibrant, with local produce like fruits, vegetables, nuts, and spices.

A 20-minute drive away, Puerto Pollensa offers a wide range of activities both on land and at sea. Its bay allows for various water sports; on the beach, you can relax or, for the more adventurous, rent windsurfing, kayaking, sailing, or enjoy water skiing and jet-skiing.

Cala Sant Vicenç (or simply “the Cala” as locals call it) offers a small supermarket, several restaurants with diverse culinary options, and a few bars. This quiet town has four small coves and two main beaches, known for their crystal-clear waters and spectacular views.

To explore these wonderful areas and their surroundings, it is recommended to have a car, allowing you to discover Pollensa’s most picturesque charms.

Enjoy an authentic Mallorcan vacation experience with Chalet Els Rafals!

Large villa with, lot of space inside and outside. Lovely pool en well eqiuped kitchen. Behind the house is a olive barn. The owner gives us a tour. The fundaments are from the year 1050. Amazing to walk aroun there.

A villa with character and a beautiful view
The villa has a lot of character and a beautiful outdoorspace with a wonderful openview on the mountains . It's rustic as you should expect from a historic building but clean and well maintained. It is a 15 minutes drive from Pollensa. The beds were ok but can have thicker matrasses.

Man mochte nichts anfassen.

Rustic Villa in the Mountains
Nice experience in this beautiful location, plenty of nature and very peaceful environment. Still a short drive to Pollensa old town. The villa is ancient (I heard 300 years old from the owner) but nice refurbished inside and with all the equipment needed for a comfortable stay. Nothing

10 schöne Tage!
Wunderschöne alte Finca mit fast historischem Charme. Alles da was man braucht, herrlich abgelegen und ruhig. Anfahrt abenteuerlich aber man gewöhnt sich daran. Wir hatten 10 schöne Tage dort. Bis auf Kleinigkeiten alles top! Wenig Steckdosen, bzw.

Pests everywhere
Not for usThe property was a bit dark and rustic for us. Kitchen a bit small and some bedrooms had no window. Worst of all was lack of aircon in 35 degrees. We had to buy fans. Also there were hundreds of mosquitos ..everyone of us bitten. Added to this there were were wasps and two of us were bitten hand had allergic reactions.

Secluded Mallorcan bliss.
We had a fantastic stay here in mid May. The weather was hit and miss and a bit cold to go into the pool but we still managed a few swims. The house is so spacious you could enjoy your time indoors as much as outdoors. With log burners, a pizza oven and plenty of social spaces. Note that you'll need your own speaker as the radio didn't get much signal but the internet reception was great. The house is almost at the end of a long winding lane up the mountain which means it is a bit inconvenient if you are planning to pop in and out but we managed to come down in about 12 minutes to Pollensa town and up I'm 15 minutes of you're a confident driver (not quite the 20 minutes the sat nab indicates). Make sure you follow the sat nab. People following directions made a wrong turn into a dirt track and one got a puncture. Most cars are fine if you follow the right path. The house itself is very authentic and there is lots of charming (sometimes funky) furniture and nooks and crannies. Not too keen on the colourful bright faux flowers and cushions so we hid those for our stay. Our slight disappointment was with the size of the rooms as they look a bit larger in the photos. There are two very spacious ensuites. One sleeps 4 the other sleeps 2. The third double shares a bathroom with a twin room (which only has a skylight as window). Then there's a twin ensuite downstairs. And a small room which could fit two singles (just about) but it only had one single when we were there. This is slightly the short straw (if you use it) as the room is by the kitchen and shares the downstairs loo and also only has a small skylight for a window. However once the bedroom allocation is resolved the place is magical. The secluded location, the vast amount of outdoor areas and seating to chill out and socialize, the views into the steep mountains, and the animals that graze nearby (donkeys and sheep), the lush planting all make for an unforgettable holiday. We also got a masseuse to pop over and relax us. If you're thinking of hiring taxis (found them more economical than mini buses) they do make the trip and works around €36 from Alcudia or €80 to Palma airport. The only downside is you cannot book in advance but they're readily available. As far as beaches Playa Formentor Is a must!! Feels like the Caribbean came to the med. You do have to pay for parking it's about €0.05 per minute but totally worth it when we went it wasn't too busy. We loved everything about it!
