Wonderful! And huge!

This place is lovely and huge! The 4 king bedrooms each with their own shower and bathroom is fantastic. Owners were so nice and helpful, which makes the stay that much better. Hearing the creek at night was lovely. Will have to come back for a longer stay.

4th of July stay

Our family vacation has been so relaxing. We have loved the house, the river, and the scenery is the best. From family breakfast to hanging out in the evening we could not have asked for a better place to make memories. The Blue Frog has hosted many laughs, children's hide and seek, and parent relaxation. Angela and Jason were the perfect hosts to a perfect trip.😊🐸

Family vacation

Everything was great except the walkway down to the river and the moss on the steep driveway made it very hard to get up. The house was prefect for our large group and gave the kids plenty of inside options of entertainment!

River getaway

Only one tv worked no cable or satellite Roku only the other TV's you have to bring your laptop to watch your providers. The water runs out in 5 gallons of use and bring bottle water you can't drink the water if you want to use the driveway you have to blow off

Dahlonega Six Gap Weekend

We were in town for the Six Gap bicycle race with family and friends. We enjoyed our stay and there was plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. The description was very accurate and I loved that the drawers and cabinets in the kitchen were all labeled! One suggestion would be to also label the light switches! Great house and beautiful location.

Great host!

The house was secluded and quiet. I have never seen a rental so equipped with everything from Games, outdoor activities to kitchen supplies. Angela is amazing to work with and added a special touch by leaving a welcome basket for my son that was getting married. Such a lovely host! Thank you!

Hannah wedding At R Ranch

The moment we walked into the home - it was very clean and very spacious !! Angela was amazing at communicating with me about the special details of the property- I was so thankful I read her email to know about the driveway. We went for a short trip into town for groceries and this kitchen had Everything we needed and more to cook daily. The coffee bar was stocked and the seasoning cabinet!!!! I have so many memories from our stay that I’m thankful for: kids playing in the river, sitting on the top deck in the morning w coffee, my husband played hide n seek thru the house w the kids, and watching the boys on the pool table and darts. We drove a short 30 mins to Dawson outlets- for Publix and crumble cookie and lil shopping. We were there for a wedding- but it turned out to be one of my favorite memories of a river vacation. .

Spacious home and beautiful surroundings are both understatements

The house was enormous, plenty of comfortable private space, but with an easy and sensible place for everyone to be together. It had all needed amenities, kitchen fully supplied, beds slept comfortably, water pressure was great, and house remained warm despite very cold weather. We had a 5th couple for one night sleeping on the double bed with 1/2 bath, but that was comfortable and presented no problem. Situated right on the Chestatee River in the woods, the surroundings are absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Angela was a responsive communicator, maintained the disposition of a host rather than a proprietor/manger, and remained attentive to our needs. We would return without hesitation.

Fantastic Family Retreat

Had booked another VRBO that upon arrival did not meet our expectations. Looked at other options and found this one. Made contact with Angela and couldn’t have asked for more from a host! Immediately accommodating. Fast communication. A+. The property was awesome. The number of bedrooms and baths. The living areas, dining and kitchen. Clean and very well equipped. We were 5 adults and a 15 year old. Various games available. Ping pong, foosball, and pool. Fishing. This was in December. Would love to return in the summer. The River access is fantastic. I strongly recommend this home. Perfect for family or a gathering of friends.

Amazingly beautiful comfortable river house!

Our family of 13 truly LOVED staying for a week at the Blue Frog! The giant river mansion is so beautifully decorated and had everything and more that our family needed. I was so impressed with each room. The huge open main kitchen/game room/dining room is perfectly set up for hours of family fun! The main kitchen (there are 2 kitchens) had all the dishes and cooking utensils needed and they even had dish washing detergent, garbage bags, saran wrap etc.... Most rental houses do not supply any of that at all! We had a fuse blow in the kitchen and it took such a short time for the owners to be there to fix it for us. They are a great couple! I recommend this property wholeheartedly! The river is awesome and so nice to sit by. The many ages of our kids loved tubing (tubes supplied) and fishing. One of my sons caught a fish every time he tossed in his hook! Beautiful rental home!

Big house, lovely river view, room for everyone

The house is down a gravel drive under large overhanging trees. Very steep driveway that all the family thought was exciting (go figure); walking up was my option. There is comfy furniture, long restful porches, large kitchen for many cooks, plenty of TV's, ping pong, pool table etc. All bedrooms are a good size with their own bathroom...Yea!! Top floor bedroom windows give the impression of being in a tree house. The water pressure in the upstairs master bathroom was very low, but the kitchen on the same floor had good pressure. It is not far from Dahlonega...15 to 20 mins. to downtown. Everyone in our group had a great time and would return again. We said goodby by sitting in the chairs next to the river before heading home. Thanks Sherri and Ben for sharing your lovely mountain home.

Thanksgiving

Property was well stocked in the kitchen. Could have used more bath towels in the bathrooms and the drapes seemed incomplete in giving privacy in the master bathroom. Very comfortable and plenty of room to spread out, however the bedroom on the 2nd floor going down the steps to the left had spiders, flys & mosquitos caused our 11 year old grandson to have big bites all over his arms & legs. Outside drive seemed very messy with all the pots, dead plants, & lots of outside work needs to be done.

Our stay at the “Blue Frog”

We had a fabulous weekend at the “Blue Frog” house while in Dahlonega for my granddaughter’s wedding. The wonderful house, containing 3 levels, has 5 bedrooms and sleeps 12 very comfortably. The main floor is gigantic consisting of a very large living room, a dining area for 8, a large kitchen, a comfy sitting area (2 large sofas, 2 chairs and a breakfast dining area and TV), and by the sliding doors to the porch, a ping pong table and a fooz ball table which were totally enjoyed by many. There is also a bunk bedroom and the amazing large master bedroom on this floor. The middle floor has 2 nice bedrooms and a sitting area with TV between them. The lower floor has 1 bedroom and an area with pool table and games. The house is beautifully appointed with everything you could need in the kitchen, a green egg, fishing rods for fly fishing in the river across the road, tubing gear, hammocks by the river, delightful porches to relax on, and more. The owners have thought of everything! And our family (of 20+, 50+ and an 80 year old) had a wonderful time. Just a tip: It was a challenge for some of us to find the house using “ways” because of narrow mountainous roads, but those who used “maps” had no problem.

Great house and great location

The house was big, and multi-leveled which allowed each family to have their "own space." It was perfect to gather the extended family together to attend a niece's wedding at a nearby winery. The location is secluded and has fantastic river access. We hung out in the river relaxing and it was a short drive to the wedding. Also, Angela (the host) is super friendly and easy to communicate with.

Adventurous stay

We had a baseball tournament in Dahlanega and decided to stay with a few families near by. We’re so glad we did. The kids had a great time exploring the property and the house is so large that we didn’t feel on top of each other. The hosts were kind and very responsive to our needs. Hope to visit again.

About the host

Host profile image
Angela and Jason live and work locally in Lilburn, Georgia and stay in Dahlonega often and self-manage the Blue Frog for their guests. Angela was a school teacher for decades and Jason is an attorney and entrepreneur. They have three children, one about to graduate high school and two about to graduate Emory University.

Why they chose this property

We love the river and the seclusion of feeling like we are in the middle of nowhere while knowing that we are ten minutes from everything.

What makes this property unique

Privacy. Looooonnnnnggggggg river views of the Chestatee River. Three floors so you can be with your family without being on top of your family. So much to do in the house that we have guests who tell us they scrapped their plans and just stayed at the property all weekend.
