Lovely Home, Sound Access - Come & Enjoy The Lucky Fish Cottage

Refreshed and ready for Summer! Nicely furnished & appointed, great for hosting families or groups of friends. 3 Bedroom, 2.5 Baths and large media room with extra sleeping space if needed. The house is well stocked with what you need from kitchen to beach gear. Super, South End location. Walk to ocean beach or sound fishing, swimming, kayak and SUP access point. We built with our family and friends in mind and hope you will enjoy this cottage as much as we do. 1 mile to Town Center-playground, restaurants, shopping, wine bar/coffee shop, marina/boat launch, mini-golf, roller skating & Jolly Roger Fishing Pier. There are a couple craft beer, bottle shops on the way in. New Surf City restaurants, breweries, a distillery, grocery stores, etc.

The house Interior has all you can wish for and exterior has several deck & porch options along with a nice, grassy back yard for games. Outdoor shower under the house, perfect for rinsing off after the beach. Storage room with plenty of gear: chairs, cooler, beach cart, boogie boards, 3 kayaks, 4 bikes, 1 SUP, beach toys, corn hole game, etc. Easy, vacation living is what we strive for with nice accommodations, similar to what folks are used to rather than "roughing it" at the beach! The perfect spot for adults and kids...everyone will be VERY happy!

This is the perfect home for holiday and special occasion celebrations! We have a large kitchen island, big dining table with many chairs and a fully stocked kitchen in terms of appliances, cookware and dishes. Outdoor picnic table and grill, media room, great for family games or movie nights. The game closet can't be beat! Downstairs living room has a flat screen TV above the fire place w sound bar and there is a second, larger TV upstairs. We have deeded sound access across from the house. There is sound access across the street for swimming, SUP and Kayaking. For larger boats, we recommend Bush's Marine which is friendly and reasonable. You can use the ramp for the day or rent a slip. It is a 2 minute drive from the house or a quick bike ride! 910-328-2746.

Family Friendly Experience, fun for all!

Our family had a wonderful time staying at this comfortable home in the South end of Topsail. David and Sarah are wonderful owners who truly care and are incredibly responsive! Among our favorite things: the view from the porch overlooking the sound, the bikes, kayaks, paddle boards and cornhole games that come with the home, and the beautiful kitchen! We truly enjoyed our stay and appreciate our hosts for being so welcoming!

Tons of fun on Topsail

David and Sarah take great care of their property and provide amenties that made our stay exceptional. From kayaking across the sound to walking to the beach we had a great time exploring Topsail. My family and I highly recommend The Lucky Fish Cottage for your stay and will return.

Relaxing get away

Perfect place for a relaxing beach vacation. House is comfortable and clean with lots of places to relax inside and out. Beds were new and comfortable. Great views of the sound with beautiful sunsets. Neighborhood is quiet and only a mile from restaurants and shops. We loved having the use of beach cart, beach chairs. Kitchen is well stocked for cooking, plenty of coffee space and even a coffee bean grinder! This was our first trip to Topsail Beach but it won’t be our last.

Still the best!

This was the 4th or 5th time we’ve stayed at the Lucky Fish and it’s still the best! We love the location - views of the sound, but also a quick walk to the beach. We also like this quieter end of the island, but there’s still restaurants, gift shops, and a convenience store close enough to walk to or ride one of the bikes included in the rental. We like to kayak and there’s a sandy area to put in across the street from the property. If you like to cook the kitchen is well appointed and the layout of the home, along with the decor, is just perfect. My favorite pastime is sitting on one of the decks watching the boats and birds. We’ll definitely be back!

Great beach house

We could be more pleased with our stay. The home was absolutely stunning and in a great location with just a short bike ride to the ocean. Everyone was extremely friendly and our dog had a blast running while we collected seashells. There was plenty to do and see but the best was sitting on the deck watching the sunset. We will be back for sure.

Excellent for Family Retreat and Fun in Sun

Dave and Sarah know what they are doing! I picked this place for the kayaks and fireplace. We had great communication with Dave and Sarah. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was in place. Besides being perfectly clean and a well stocked kitchen, the best surprise was how much fun it was to play with all the beach toys: 5 bikes, 3 kayaks, 2 paddle boards, skim boards, surf boards, a sand shovel... I'm sure I'm missing others. We'll be back!

A home away from home

As soon as we arrived, we knew we chose the right place for our vacation rental. The house was stocked with everything we needed for cooking and to make our stay easier. The house was clean on arrival, and the different areas of the home were perfect and allowed room for everyone to enjoy time together or have their own space. It provided the perfect comforts of home with the added benefits of vacationing. The owners were easy to get in touch with if we had any questions. We loved the water pressure and the easy rinse off area outside when we returned from the beach. Although we brought or own beach gear, they had plenty to go around and we loved the convenience of the storage area outside. The full size picnic table and abundance of seating was great for cooking out or just relaxing on any of the three decks. The front decks were perfect for watching the beautiful sunsets over the sound. The drive to town was only a few minutes, and worth it to provide a little extra space on a less travelled area of the island. My husband was stationed at Camp Lejeune for 8 years and he was dying to go back and visit the area. I'm glad I listened. The best part was that we were able to bring our pets and not have to leave them behind with friends or family. The Lucky Fish Cottage was the perfect getaway.

Family vacation

Amazing!!

We had the best vacation this last week at the Lucky Fish. It was a beautiful location and easy beach access. The house was beautiful and clean! We saw dolphins from the decks, we went bike riding, and paddling boarding with the equipment provided. The property managers, Dave and Sarah were absolutely amazing and a joy to communicate with. My family and I will be returning next year!! I couldn’t have asked for a better vacation rental! Thank you Dave and Sarah!

Amazing Vacation...again!

This was our second time staying at the Lucky Fish and it was just as spectacular as the first time! Beautiful place with all the amenities you could ask for in a vacation home. The house is very clean and the kitchen is stocked with great gadgets. Location is by far the cherry on top. Walking to the beach in under 5 min is so convenient! My husband and I love walking around Serenity Point, and this is very easy from the house. Also, you are a short bike ride away from Topsail, where you can play mini golf, get ice cream, walk on the Jolly Roger pier and have a great meal at the Grille. Dave and Sarah are the sweetest...always in communication and willing to help in any way. They really do have a magical beach home. We absolutely will be staying again, we Loved it. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Fantastic as usual!

This was the 3rd or 4th time we’ve stayed at the Lucky Fish and it was perfect as usual. We love the location because you get the best of both worlds - beautiful views of the sound from the house and a short walk to the beach for ocean views. This time we took advantage of the bikes included in the rental and used them to grab lunch and do some shopping nearby. The house is spotless and beautifully decorated and maintained. And if you enjoy cooking, the kitchen is fantastic! We’ll definitely be back!

Fun in the sun

We had a great stay. The property is accurately described and nicely maintained. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Gorgeous sunsets! Topsail Beach has a cute little business district with a few nice gift shops, restaurants and a fun retro skating rink and mini golf/arcade. The closest grocery store is about a 10 min drive north to Surf City. We enjoyed several nice morning walks on the beach. Shells were plentiful. We loved our trip and hope to return next year.

Lucky Fish Cottage is the perfect beach getaway

We've stayed at Lucky Fish several times and it never disappoints. Sarah and David are fantastic hosts and they have a beautiful, well stocked, fantastically located property that feels like a home away from home. We come with our teen and tween, and they love the house too, which is high praise from at their age. You can't go wrong with this wonderful rental.

Wonderful Late Summer Days at Lucky Fish Cottage

My husband and I plus our older son and our dog spent almost a week in Lucky Fish Cottage when our younger son and his fiancee celebrated their Covid-delayed wedding on Topsail Beach. It was a great place to be -- very comfortable and easy to live in, perfect weather, beautiful sunsets, walks on the beach and just relaxing. The house really does have everything you need and much more. The photos give an accurate representation of the space and decor. We would love to stay again someday!

Great House

We love staying at The Lucky Fish! It is new, clean, open, and airy. The owners are great and everything works in the house. There is a beautiful view of the sound. best vacation in recent memory

We loved this house! The best of everything- lots of room, great layout, very well equipped, great location and lots of toys. Prefer the ocean to the sound? A very short two block walk on a quiet street. We rode bicycles, kayaked to the sand bar, swam at two different beaches, walked to the fishing pier and on our last night we sat around on the deck watching a thunderstorm. We were talking about next year before we even got out of town. Thank you, David and Sarah for the thought and effort that you have clearly put into your place.

David and Sarah have lived full time in Wilmington, NC (about 1 hour south of Topsail Beach) over 12 years. We love all things beach, boating and family. Owning a beach cottage has been a long-time dream and we are now happy to make it a reality and share it with others. Our children: Ella 17 and Mason 15 are growing up quickly. We wanted to build a home in Topsail Beach because it is a quiet, family friendly spot where we hope to unplug, reconnect and relax together! Dave has always hoped for a house where we could watch the sun set at the end of the day. The sunsets from Lucky Fish Cottage cannot be beat and for that...we feel pretty lucky!

Why they chose this property

We built this home with beach, fun & family gatherings in mind. We wanted to offer a vacation home with finishes, furnishings and amenities that were in line with what people are used to day to day. The furnishings are comfortable and classic and the floor plan provides room for gatherings of large groups but privacy when preferred. There are multiple entertaining spaces inside and out with a deck and porch on the front of the home and a private deck off the master bedroom on the backside of the house.

What makes this property unique

We have cable TV, WIFI internet access and a closet stuffed with games. We have a blender, French press, coffee maker, electric griddle and crock pot. There is a pack and play, baby gate, bed rail and high chair seat. Below the house is a storage room with beach gear: chairs, kayaks, a cooler, corn hole game, sand toys, boogie boards, skim boards and a beach cart for transporting gear. Please bring helmets and child life jackets, we do not have these. We wanted to make vacation living as easy as possible and hopefully provide the comforts of home...all while in a pristine and beautiful beach setting! If there is something specific you need for your vacation, please let us know. If we don't already have it included in our rental, we can consider adding it...just ask! *We do have an agreement with a local surf shop HWY 50 -they will provide a discount for guests of the Lucky Fish Cottage and even deliver the following for a small fee: Bikes, Kayaks, Surfboards, SUPS, etc. We do not provide linens (sheets and towels for beach and bath). Linens, etc. can be rented and delivered by Sweet Dreams Linens. We do have pillows and blankets.
