Lovely, recently renovated apartment in 19th century villa, one of the five most beautiful streets of Amsterdam.
Great canalview, peaceful and quiet ... yet walking distance/around the corner from restaurants, bars, market, coffee shops, shops, the zoo and museums.

The location is very unique; according to "'undiscovered Amsterdam" it is one of the five most beautiful streets.
Situated in the east of the center of Amsterdam; 10 minutes bicycling or tram from Dam square. Bicycle rent just around the corner. Car parking nearby. Tram around the corner. Very close to the center, yet still the real Amsterdam ...
Very suitable for a longer stay or a trip with family or friends, or just a short visit.

The apartment is on the top floor of the villa (2 stairs up) and has a really magnificant view on the canal.
It consists of two rooms that can be paid individually or together.
Both rooms are nicely decorated and have two separate luxurious beds; each room with a bathroom and toilet.
The apartment has access to a fully equipped kitchen (stove, cooker, dryer, dishwasher, fridge, washing machine).

Perfect place for exploring Amsterdam

We loved our stay. The accommodation had everything we needed and more. The location was great as we could walk into centre to enjoy seeing the sights, yet return in evening to a beautifully quiet location. We enjoyed drinking tea in the mornings while enjoying the locals stroll along the canal. The hosts were helpful, friendly and excellent communicators.

Fantastic stay in Amsterdam

Wonderful location close to public transport and museums. Wessel is very helpful and assisted with carrying our luggage up and down the stairs. The accomodation has all you need and very comfy beds.

Great location

The apartment was spacious with lovely views of the canal and surrounds. Its location allowed easy access to public transport, food outlets, shopping, cafes and restaurants. Overall a pleasant stay in Amsterdam.

Great property and great location!

Although not in the centre, Wessel’s property was on a very pretty canal and an easy tram ride from central Amsterdam. There were plenty of good restaurants and nice coffee shops within walking distance. There were three of us in our party so we utilised both bedrooms and the kitchen area. We had everything we needed for our 3 night stay, comfortable beds and good bathrooms. Wessel was welcoming and obviously available if we had any questions- which we didn’t! One thing that may be an issue for some were the two narrow staircases to climb to the top floor. Overall a great introduction to Amsterdam!

Fabulous fortnight on the Transvaalkade

Our recent stay on the top floor of a home on the Transvaalkade was perfect. The host, Wessel, has set up a perfect, light-filled apartment with a glorious view over the canal which worked exceptionally well for my husband and I and our adult daughter. The two separate bathrooms, small but well laid out, were very convenient. The kitchen was well equipped and we were very grateful to have facilities to wash and dry our clothes. The beds were comfortable. The neighbourhood was delightful, we especially enjoyed the cafe on the other side of the canal for our evening drinks and also the large range of supermarkets nearby for us to purchase our supplies. Public transport worked brilliantly for all of our day trips including to the Kroller Moller near Apeldoorn, Haarlem and, of course, regular trips into Amsterdam Central, just a few minutes tram ride away. Wessel was kind and helpful and we greatly appreciated that he stayed up late to greet us and talk us through the apartment when we arrived. We hope to return in the near future, this time with our boys.

lovely apartment and great location

The apartment is lovely. Comfortable and with a beautiful view across the canal. We were there for 9 days while the weather was quite cold but the apartment was nicely warm. Hosts Wessel and Helene who live in the bottom floors of the building were very helpful at the same time careful not to intrude. We liked the location very much. It’s only a 15 minute tram ride at most to the museum area, the old canal area, central station etc, but has all the advantages of not being in the middle of the tourist area. We ate at quite a few local restaurants. Our favourites were Bar Restaurant, the Cottage and Blend. Highly recommended.

Perfect spot for our vacation

The apartment is wonderful! So nice to have a 2bed/2bath with a well stocked kitchen on a quiet, lovely canal street. There were some eggs, butter, soda & beer in the little fridge along with some condiments which was so kind of Wessel. Also, coffee, tea & some spices were also provided. There was even laundry soap for the washer! It would've been nice to have some paper towels though. There are restaurants & shops so close to the apartment, within a 2-4 minute walk. We did walk to a couple of museums & dam sqaure, it was between 2-3 miles, but taking the tram was easy enough as well & close by. The only thing I would suggest is to place a curtain on the window above the door to the front bedroom (canal side). There were a couple nights when someone left the staircase light on overnight & it shines right through the window by the apartment entry door & right into the front bedroom window above that door. I would definitely stay at Wessel & Helene's apartment again!!

New year in Amsterdam

We had a great time in Amsterdam. Wessels place is a nice spot for families, outside of the main hustle and bustle but easy enough to get in via tram - especially the zoo.We got a great view of fireworks over the canal from the top floor windows.

Fabulous Amsterdam

Wonderful hosts. Helped find a Dr. when we showed up sick and it turned out to be a very quick and easy Dr. office to go to. Helped with bags and left lots of necessities in the fridge. got back to us really quickly with any questions. Lovely view of the canal. I always wanted to stay on a canal. Grocery stores and tram lines are close. Lovely and interesting city.

A Great Choice

Warm welcome to a beautiful two bedroom apartment that was comfortable, well equipped and with a beautiful view overlooking a canal in the front and garden in the back. It is located close to restaurants and we also walked into downtown. The host met us and was easily available if needed. It is at the top of the house and therefore 3 flights of stairs. Would recommend apartment and host.

Amsterdam Dream

The host was very responsive and offered us a home away from home. Extra things were left in the fridge, the kitchen is very well-equipped. The location is spectacular, we used public transportation for easy access to all major areas we wanted to explore. Restaurants and stores are close by that made everything so accessible. Many small touches were added to the apartment that made it feel so comfortable. When we had questions, Wessel was always helpful with tips and answers. When we return to Amsterdam, this is the top choice of place and host!! 10 out of 10 - easy!!

My boyfriend and I loved this place. Not only because of the great location but friendliness of the host. His daughter helped us carrying the heavy suitcase up as well as down the stairs when we left. I wholeheartedly recommend this place,!

Gemütliches Apartment

Das gemütliche Apartment hat eine direkte Aussicht auf die Gracht, was wirklich schön und gleichzeitig sehr ruhig war. Die Verkehrsanbindung zum Zentrum war ebenfalls hervorragend und fußläufig innerhalb von 3 Minuten erreichbar. Die Vermieter waren sehr nett und haben für alles Notwendige und darüber hinaus gesorgt? Sogar der Kühlschrank war etwas gefüllt. Vielen Dank nochmal dafür! In Summe haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Beautiful Neighborhood!

Wessel was extremely attentive. He even helped us get our luggage up the (scary steep) stairs. Coffee shop down the street and many restaurants. We really appreciated having a washer AND dryer

Le cadre est superbe

La vue sur le canal est juste magique ! L’hôte est très sympa et prévenant ! Compter 1/2 heure entre la marche jusqu’au métro et le métro lui-même pour accéder à La Centrale Station ! L’environnement permet des achats de nourriture mais aussi plusieurs restos ou Eat Café !!! Super séjour !!!

Lovely Place

This was the perfect place to stay. The front and back rooms are both bright and airy. There is a kitchen with all the needed details. We do enjoyed starting our vacation here. Wessel is an amazing host and provided us with spectacular food recommendations. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
