The best view of any house I've ever been in
This may be a little but more rustic than many of the other houses in the Sea Ranch, but we try to book it every time we go because it has a genuinely jaw-dropping view and a wall of windows to see it from. If you're in the area to see the natural beauty, there's simply no better spot from which to do it.

Awesome View of the Crashing Waves
Been going to The Sea Ranch for 35 years and the view of the ocean and crashing waves here is as good as it gets. House itself is very basic but the beds and furniture are all comfortable and very clean. Would stay here again for sure.

Peaceful
We have been to this house many times and come back because it has such a wonderful view and location. Yes the house is dated and doesn't have all the amenities as many other Sea Ranch houses do, but as long as it's clean and things work, we are happy to return. It appears to be managed better than in the past for which we are grateful. Hopefully before too long new beds will be purchased!

Awesome retreat
A marvelous place... capturing the authentic essence of Sea Ranch, perched above the ocean, with deer paying morning visits. We'll be back.

Yes, coming back!
Sure, this home is a bit dated, but we enjoyed the history of this home, it seems like one of the original Sea Ranch homes, built to be a part of the natural surroundings vs standing out. Very cozy, easy layout, the place is built to enjoy the views and nature, the kitchen is easy to use, and it was the perfect size for us and our dog. Loved being by Black Pt Cove, and the north/south walking trails.

Waving goodbye
Together we enjoyed the beauty of nature Sitting cozily in the comfort of your home We laughed, ate and made many memories To mark the birth of our beloved We were in awe of the landscape It's appearance was mesmerizing Many pictures and videos later We still can't settle which angle is best The fire place's central location Allowed us to feel the warmth That this home offers generously The music on the stereo spoke my soul There was space for contemplation Reclining chairs offer so much comfort I'm leaving inspired and connected Our mind and stomachs feel so full

Classic Sea Ranch
If you want to feel the original Sea Ranch vision, you’ll find it here. Stunning view on the bluff trail. This home is in lovely relation to nature inviting that connection at every moment. It shows some wear, but is exceedingly comfortable.

Perfect location
This was our second stay at Curts-Moulton Retreat. It hasn't been updated so there are some funky elements to it but we find it all very charming and the location it just perfect.

Great location
Really enjoyed staying here with my mom for her bday. She left a very important necklace behind when we checked out & Jody in the office went out of her way to get it returned to her. Can't thank her enough.

Unbelievable view from this house.
This house has one of the best views in Sea Ranch. I had a house here for 45 years and I’ve seen a lot of views but this one is amazing. Also, we got to watch whales right off the shore on their migration south to Mexico. It’s a bit dated but that didn’t affect our enjoying the house one bit!!

Couldn’t be a better location or view
The view and access to the bluff trail’s cannot be surpassed. We’ve been coming here for years and will continue to do so. However the place is a bit run down and ants were a very big problem. Wish the kitchen was a bit better stocked w large pans and bowls.

beautiful view
Such a perfect location, with wonderful views over the sea. We could hear the crashing waves all the time. The open plan living space was wonderful. The furnishings however were a bit dated and in need of some love, the bed in the main bedroom was a little uncomfortable (although large, which was nice), and the bathrooms could do with an update. We adored seeing the deer and quails right outside, and really it's all about the view and solitude here. We had a great time.

Thank You!
We have stayed at the Curtis-Moulton house many times. This trip, although in December with some rain, was still wonderful. The deer, the fox, the view! And we really, really appreciated that the outlet in the master bath is now working. The improvements made in the kitchen and the responsiveness of the local Vacasa staff was also appreciated. The ants were more under control and the place was cleaner than the last few times. So, again thank you for making this house available to us.

The views are like no other, simply spectacular.
The house is old but very and comfortable. The house is well stocked for the most part but needs updating. Outside is amazing. there is a lovely walking path from this property over to Sea Ranch Lodge and half-way there are stairs down to the beach. Wonderful driftwood and rocks treasures there to find. Sitting out on the patio, we were visited by three deer. I recommend this house to recharge your soul. it is wonderful.

Amazing property on the bluff
The house has a great layout, with kitchen and living room on one end and the bedrooms on the other. Very comfortable for 6 people. The kitchen is extremely well stocked, with all manner of pots and pans, even pie plates which was a bonus as we had been hoping to make a pie. The carpet and beds are dated, and are in need of replacing, though the master queen mattress was certainly acceptable. The dishwasher air gap leaked when we were there, and the property managers were very responsive and got a handyman out very quickly, and when the first repair did not work he came back right away with a permanent solution. You can’t beat the location, and all in all a great stay. Would definitely stay again!

Extraordinary ocean front experience
Comforting surf sound and sight here - a peaceful location to relax and ponder with miles of trails and beach access just steps away. We were disappointed with several maintenance issues in the home, not dissimilar to our last vacasa rental, and which would preclude us using vacasa again. Superficial cleaning was great, but we were inundated with flies inside, particularly annoying at the dinner table. Large range burner was nonfunctional (seemingly known to staff but not disclosed or fixed during our stay), ants in one bedroom AND bed, trash locker accessible to raccoons and full of trash on our arrival, and just some deep cleaning needs in this home. Could have been a five star with just a little more attention to detail.

Honestly, not very good.
So upon arrival, I had a birthday cake since we were here celebrating my daughter’s 21st birthday. I left it on the counter a few hours not realizing they had issues with ants and of course it was infested with ants. We had to throw it away. Needless to say, cannot eat it at that point. Anybody staying here should be aware that this is an issue and honestly I am a property manager myself I would insist upon the owners having pest control. Another issue was the Internet service I still was working and of course the Internet was down most of the time there is no cell service pass bodega Bay for anybody who is driving and planning on staying in this area. Make sure you have good Internet service that is provided at the home. The overall feel of the home was extremely outdated. I was cold most of the time trying to run the baseboard. Heat was not adequate. The fireplace did help but when I woke up in the morning, it was 57° not what I would say comfortable. The location was good to see Ranch area is nice. The beach view was beautiful but unfortunately it was extremely windy and it was actually raining for part of the day. Honestly, we almost left the first day just based upon the Internet problem. I would not stay in this property again.

Amazinggg views, but interior needs some serious love
The most wonderful things about this home are the views and that it is one of the original Sea Ranch homes with beautiful architectural bones. The location is extraordinary and you can see and hear the sound of the ocean from nearly every room. The fireplace is also lovely. Sadly, this home has fallen into disrepair over the years and has not been well maintained. (I first stayed here 22+ years ago with the original owners and again about 9 years ago.) The windows needed to be repaired/replaced during my last visit and have only gotten worse. Many of them do not close properly and while this allows for more access to the sounds of the sea, on colder days it creates a serious draft. The rug in the living room is the same from 9 years ago ago and it wasn't great then. Now it's beyond shabby. The beds are quite old, dingy and uncomfortable and the shade in the primary bedroom bathroom has clearly been broken for some time. Why no one has replaced it is a mystery when it would cost little and make a great difference. As others have mentioned there is an ongoing any problem. There are ant traps placed strategically around the home, but I still woke up once in the middle of the night with a few ants crawling on me. (eep!) There were often ants in the kitchen as much as we tried to keep food wrapped up and out of reach. The oven had only one shelf which made cooking challenging and when I looked for and found a second shelf it didn't fit and seemed to be for a previous oven. I understand that this is a rental and that things break and go missing from time to time, but it feels like no one is paying attention. I don't find these broken or missing things "quaint." It's not inexpensive to stay at Sea Ranch and it feels cheap and disappointing that basic amenities have not been touched in more than a decade's time. As much as I love this house, I'm not sure I would stay here again until some basic interior upgrades are made. (I called Vacasa as a courtesy before writing this review to give them the opportunity to address my concerns, but their response was indifferent at best. Note to owner: Time to find a new management company?)
