About this property

Crescent Creek Lodge

This gorgeous river front house in Crescent Lake, Oregon is a great private get away! A large fully stocked kitchen with center bar and barstools, master suite upstairs with a queen bed and two additional mattresses, two downstairs bedrooms will full-size beds, two bathrooms with showers, a wood stove, wifi, flat screen TV with DIRECTTV, deck with a NEW BBQ, vaulted ceilings, washer/drier, dock on the creek. A large dining room table can be extended to accommodate 10 guests.

Note: The property is accessed by a long, private driveway, part of which is shared with neighbors. Cars must observe the 5mph speed limit to keep dust down. There is no turnaround room for trailers, RVs or boats - please plan to park these in the lot near Crescent Lake. Also we have and allow cats and dogs, so be aware in case you have allergies.

The space
The property is on an acre that extends from a private drive to Crescent Creek. The house sits off the road at the end of a long, narrow driveway. There are easily three parking spots, however turnarounds will be tricky beyond that. The home has two stories, with vaulted ceilings and attractive wood detailing original to the house. It has a cabin feel with upgrades to allow for a comfortable stay. There is a short path from the back deck to the deck on the creek. The creek water level changes according to irrigation needs and can be swift, so small animals and children should always be under supervision. There is wire fencing around the deck for dogs. The property has a very private feel, with one neighboring private vacation home and the rest surrounded by trees.

Guest access
All access except a closet upstairs and our shed. There is a small hunting cabin that is available for kids to play in.

Other things to note
We didn't rent our cabin from 2019-2021, first because we remodeled our primary home and lived here that summer, and then because of COVID - it seemed complicated and we stayed here often to enjoy the remote setting. We happily invited guests to enjoy our sweet cabin again last year. My husband loves to collect nicknacks, and while most guests love the homey feel and variety of decorations, if you need a clutter free space for peace this may not be your best choice. Our aim is for you to love our cabin as much as we do!

Crescent lake house
Very disappointing overall. Outdoors and inside very disheveled appearance. Needs to be entirely cleaned up, trail to river cut back and deck needs new stairs, along with pine tree that needs trimmed at deck, as is completely in your face when going up the stairs. While I understand that the host wants to provide you with everything, we do not want to use anyone's used soap bars in the shower. There is way too much clutter inside the house, and the furniture is old and not comfortable. I'm sorry, but we will not book this house again. On a positive ending, the host was very quick with responses and easy to deal with.

Great "cottage vibe"
Beautiful wood doors, hooks etc. throughout the house, good job of bringing the outdoors indoors. Loved the banister it was truly a work of art. So many "do da's" to look at and wonder about. Host very friendly and accommodating. Perfect setting, dock/deck beside the crick was an added bonus.

Nice comfy cabin - great location!
Great for our fishing trip - close to both Crescent and Odell Lake. Well equipped and beds were comfortable. Not a lot of water pressure for showers, but otherwise it work well for our trip.

Amazing location, very welcoming house !
We had a great time at Suzie and Wayne's house. The house is right in the middle of a very attractive area with many scenic places to visit. It is very comfortable and very warmly decorated. We strongly recommend this condo

Beautiful Cabin
The cabin is very beautiful, right on the creek with a lighted trail to the water. There is a small deck down there with chairs. Some sort of satellite allows for limited internet access. Some down sides you should know, there is no dishwasher, the road is not well marked and is hard to find, the beds and furniture are pretty but not comfortable. Kitchen is oddly stocked. Leftover items in the fridge, lots of spices and oils. Kitchen tools were limited and the knives are very dull. I thought the really high deposit would be due to nice kitchen supplies but, I think it was for the DVD collection. Tons of DVD available, we didn't watch any so not sure what types were available. Neighbors were mixed, we met really friendly people with a disc golf course in their yard who invited us to play disc with them also ran into an angry old man at the end of the driveway. Overall, if we stayed here again we would bring dish gloves, our own pillows, and a mattress topper. Also couldn't figure out the temperature/water pressure in the downstairs bathroom. It was either scalding hot with no pressure or freezing cold with lots of pressure. So we mostly used the upstairs shower.

A relaxing Central Oregon getaway
This charming cabin in the woods was just what my family needed as we spent a relaxing time overlooking Crescent Creek from the property's own private creekside porch. While in close proximity to beautiful Crescent Lake, our week-long stay at Crescent Creek Lodge was just 'what the doctor ordered' to promote a sense of calm and well-being before heading back to the daily grind. The cabin's cleanliness and comfortable accommodations helped to make every moment spent a good memory.

Affordable and nice accomodations
Sitting on a deck adjacent to Crescent Creek is very relaxing. The house was furnished with everything necessary. Even though the two beds downstairs are small, they were comfortable. Changing them to a queen size would be great. Our stay was peaceful and quiet from any intrusive neighborhood noise. We would definitely go back. It was a great place to stay for our Odell Lake fishing marathon!!

Peace, quiet and a creek too!
We loved this beautiful and well stocked cabin with easy access to countless hiking trails. Amazing location with private deck on the creek. We had dinner every night watching the creek. Great DVD collection!

Cabin Retreat
The cabin was charming and had everything there to make our stay comfortable. Spent the time at the lake, sightseeing and geocaching . Especially like sitting on the dock watching the stream of water flow by with a glass of wine and good conversation with my husband

This little cabin in the woods on Crescent Creek was amazing!! We love it all !!
Everything about Crescent Creek Lodge was amazing!! From our interaction with Suzy (owner) to our stay in general. We LOVED IT!!! There was 10 of us (6 adults and 4 kiddos) Ok, maybe if the beds were bigger in the downstairs bedrooms for the 6'1" and 6'4" guys with their wives, but hey they survived :) We realize that the bedrooms are just not big enough downstairs to accommodate bigger beds. We loved having a nice big dining table to sit around for breakfast and the hot showers were awesome. Also, especially loved walking down to the creek and enjoying our morning coffee sitting on the deck/dock right on the water. Thank You Suzy for providing a beautiful place to relax and make memories. We will be back <3

Quaint and Clean
We were attending a family reunion the beginning of August 2016 in the area and needed our own living space. This wonderful private residence fit the bill, it had everything we needed. A short walk takes you down to a small, serene deck right on a crystal clear stream/river. The beds and furniture were comfortable, the appliances worked fine and the wifi/TV/movies/games/books gave everyone a choice of something to do in our downtime. The owners were great and check-in and out went smoothly. Would recommend. Thank you for sharing your home. The Welch Family.

Great cabin! Great Location!
We wanted to visit Crater Lake and found this wonderful house! It is great when you come from Eugene because it is just like an hour from there, and from this house to Crater Lake North entrance, it is only one hour and 5 minutes. We also had the chance to go to Crescent Lake (15 minutes from the house)! The house has everything you need and more! Even lots of books and DvDs to watch at night with the family. We had a wonderful family time. The deck and the family room were our favorite spots. No problems at all! Suzie and family: thank you for letting us staying at your cabin. We hope to come back here when returning to Oregon. Greetings from Costa Rica! Vargas-Acuna Family

WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T BRING YOUR BOAT!
Potential future guests should be aware there is zero turn around room in the driveway for those towing boats. The driveway is long, gravel, winding, a bit steep, narrow and there are trees close on both sides all the way down. As well, the road to the home is a narrow, one lane gravel road, so we couldn't even pull into the driveway and back out as there was no clearance to back out our 20 foot ski boat. It was a nightmare that my poor husband had to deal with every day that we came back from the lake. Before booking our trip, I had asked if there was adequate turn around room for our truck and boat, as I wouldn't have made the reservation had I known it was impossible. I had inquired about how private the setting was before booking, and was told the setting was "very private". The neighbor's home is actually only a few feet away and in full view, so not a private or secluded setting for those looking to rent a home not in close proximity to neighboring homes. People were running multiple chains saws, weed eaters and wood chippers directly across the street for two days of our stay, which was just awful. The noise was so loud, we couldn't even chat or hear the creek above the deafening din while sitting outside. Suggestions: Provide adequate linen, there were only 4 washcloths for 3 people for 4 days. We were unable to cook food in the oven as there were no baking pans provided. The bbq grill was dirty and in bad shape, but we had to cook on it since we couldn't use the oven and ate all our meals in. A few days after we checked out, I received an e-mail from the owner accusing us of breaking a twin bed in the master bedroom by jumping up and down on it and that she would be keeping our security deposit. I was horrified by this outlandish accusation. My husband and I are and older couple who stayed in the home with our adult son and we all treated the home as if it were our own. We didn't sleep in or even touch that bed - I informed the owner to inquire with the last guests who stayed in the home, as we didn't break it. The owner apologized and said she would follow up with the guests who stayed in the home after us. Why she hadn't inquired with the last people to check out first, I don't know. Having just lost one of our dogs to cancer only two days prior to our trip, the handling and timing of this couldn't have been worse. It was very upsetting to receive that e-mail and worrying about getting our security deposit back.

Charming, comfortable, clean, spacious
This adorable little cabin is absolutely perfect, especially for outdoor lovers given its proximity to Crescent Lake, Crater Lake, Salt Creek Falls, Bend, and Smith Rock. It's nestled in the woods and there is creek access with a little dock. The cabin itself is very clean and spacious with comfortable beds, full kitchen, washer and dryer, and wood stove. I'd recommend to anyone and would absolutely stay again!

Great 4th of July Family weekend
Lovely little cottage in the woods! Our family enjoyed sitting on the dock by the creek and the upper deck with grill and fire pit. Very relaxing and quiet place in the woods. The owners were very helpful and quick to answer any questions we had. It's not far from a few beautiful lakes and Salt Creek Falls. Super nice that we could bring our dog too, he loved splashing in the creek and hanging out on the dock with us! Definitely would recommend!

About the host

Hosted by Suzie Newcome

Host profile image
I'm Suzie and my husband Wayne and I bought this beautiful house because we love the Crescent Lake area! We live in Bend and can't come down every weekend, so we would like to share it with others who will appreciate the house and area as we do.

Why they chose this property

This house is so spacious and special, with unique woodwork, sliding glass doors to a deck that faces the short path to the creek with its own doc. The sound of the creek is all you hear - totally private!

What makes this property unique

We have filled the house with things we enjoy on vacation - games, wifi, movies, a flat screen TV with DIRECT TV, there is a landline phone (cell service for Verizon is good; AT&T not good), washer/drier and a fully stocked kitchen, including coffee and basic condiments. All mattresses and pillows were recently replaced.

Note that my husband is a collector of lots of unique items. Most guests love the variety of artwork, clocks, figurines, movies and games. However, if you are most relaxed in a clutter-free space this may not be your ideal vacation home. All photos were updated in Spring 2023.
