We literally couldn’t get enough of sitting on the porch admiring the view. You don’t need to go anywhere for swimming, fishing, or lounging. Our family was rejuvenated by our stay here!
The home is perfect for spreading out and doing nothing but reading and relaxing. It has everything you need. We also enjoyed kiteboarding and swimming, running, biking and walking. The location is beautiful and very low key. We cooked for ourselves about 2/3rds of the time and then went out the other days. It was our first time on Shelter Island so it was fun to explore the local area.

Spectacular view! A special place to stay.
Our family of four had an idyllic two weeks staying here over the summer. We enjoyed every moment of our time on the property. Plenty to see and do nearby, but nothing better than curling up with a book on the porch, while the sun sets over Peconic Bay. Lovely, comfortable house. It is fully stocked with everything you will need for a relaxing time on Shelter Island. We would love to return. We felt so spoilt! Thanks Danny and Mara!

Magical idyll
One cannot find a more beautiful, indeed, mesmerizing spot to spend any time of year. Nearly every room in the house overlooks the spectacular Peconic with it's ever-changing hues. Soak in the sun. Watch the clouds roll in. Wonder at the birds. Relax and read by the water's edge. And the house itself is a joy -- tasteful, elegant and well appointed with everything you could possibly want, but not stuffy or precious. The hosts have created a waterfront haven to soothe the soul of any weary traveler and make you feel entirely at home. the space is perfect for gathering and family board games. And when one is replenished there are boats boats boats galore and plenty of bicycles to explore the land and water wonders of Shelter Island. At Crab Creek we saw egrets. Shell beach -- one side sandy and sheltered and the other side with more shells and rocks and a bit wilder -- is a close walk. Without even venturing to Mashomack or Ram Island, this place is THE place to vacation.
