Plan a comfortable and fun-filled North Lake Tahoe vacation at this three-bedroom Northstar home, where you'll enjoy a private game room and close proximity to ski slopes, golf, and other fantastic resort amenities. This two-level mountain view home sits just one mile from the Village at Northstar, where guests will find a variety of restaurants, cinemas, and the base of the Highlands, Village Express, and Big Springs Express Gondolas. You'll be two miles from Northstar California Golf, eight miles from Kings Beach, eight miles from Truckee, and 11 miles from the lovely shores of Donner Lake.

Step inside the living space to find an abundance of knotty pine details, which only enhance the cozy mountain atmosphere. Build a fire in the wood stove (wood is even provided), rest your ski legs on one of the three sofas as you read, or peruse the DVD and VHS collection for a favorite to watch on the flatscreen cable TV. Spend each morning in the well-equipped full kitchen, using the mixer, blender, and waffle iron to whip up a homemade meal. And there's no need to rush as you eat breakfast at the dining room table for eight - the convenient dishwasher will take care of the clean-up. Worried about overpacking for this summer or winter getaway? You'll have a private washer and dryer to refresh your outdoor wardrobe, as well as free WiFi to help you monitor the weather conditions. You'll always come home to a private deck, perfect for summer relaxation among the trees.

Guests can also take the free resort shuttle one mile to reach the NPOA Recreation Center, which offers year-round and seasonal pools, hot tubs, saunas, a tennis center, a gym, an adult clubhouse, and a game room with air hockey, Ping-Pong, billiards, and foosball (for a small daily fee). Whether you're planning a family ski vacation, a summer lake getaway, or simply looking for the comfort of a world-class resort community, Northstar is a place to enjoy the natural beauty of the Sierras. The mountain boasts 20 lifts and 100 trails across 3,170 acres - ideal terrain for intermediate skiers especially. Come summertime, the Robert Muir Graves-designed golf course features 18 scenic holes, while the NPOA Recreation Center offers year-round fun for all ages. You can swim laps, watch your kids enjoy the summer splash pad, take a soak in one of the hot tubs, or practice your serve at the seasonal tennis center.

Dirty property and horrible customer support
The property was at a very good location. When we checked in , the bed was not made and pillows didn’t have pillow cases . Blinds were broken and the house was not heating up . There were cob webs and dust everywhere . I contacted vacasa and they told me to send photos . I followed up with them multiple times and there was zero action. My entire family was suffering from allergies due to the condition of the property . I asked for a partial refund , vacasa still had to get back to me . It’s frustrating to see such poor customer service , the house was so cold that we had to wear jackets inside . The appliances are from the 1960s. They are so old . Save your money and rent another property .

A basic run down cabin - would not stay again
This cabin is in need of a major overhaul and some new furniture. I knew this cabin was not fancy and I was fine with that but it is old and grimy and everything in it is either old or as cheap as possible. The couches are basically unusable - another review noted how uncomfortable they are and I wish I has listened. They are SO terrible. The cushions at the kitchen table has food stains, the coffee table was full of crumbs, the dishwasher doesn't work, the wood stove was broken, the range had tin foil under the burners. Had to bring the trash to the dump because there is no service at the house - you need the key card to access the dumpsters which means you can't dump it on the way out after you check-out but have to take the trash and then come back to the house to return the key card.On the upside the Vacasa agent was friendly (via text) and apologized for the condition of the house. This rental is on the cheaper end of what you can find on VRBO but it isn't cheap enough.

Renter Beware
I do not like to post negative reviews, but we had a number of critical issues with the home including poor heating, poor lighting, disorganized kitchen, missing kitchen and bath supplies, and broken appliances. It was a frustrating stay. Most importantly--all 3 couches were broken to a point of being unusable. I had inquired about this issue before we booked (I had read this in an earlier review), and I was told that the issue had been resolved. It was not resolved--all 3 couches were broken such that we were effectively sitting on the ground. Anyone with mobility issues should not consider this home.

Super close to Northstar village on shuttle route
Interior was as advertised in photos and previous reviews. Best part of the house for our family was it’s proximity to the Village with quick and easy access via the Northstar shuttle system. Overall it’s a comfortable house with decent furnishings and adequate kitchenware. Linens and towels were all nice/adequate. All systems worked well, though we did not think to bring our own matches/lighter for the wood burning stoves. Some minor issues to consider for improving the house’s quality: better/brighter lighting in the living room, a full set of cereal/soup bowls (we found 2 bowls total), a few more kitchen tools —like at least one spatula and a working peeler, and replacing the tired living room sofa set.

Outdated with some safety concerns
As many have stated, the couches are well past their prime. They're extremely low to begin with and the springs are so shot you basically are sitting on the ground. There was a missing plate cover in the kids room that could be a huge concern with younger kids. Nails are lifting on the deck in the back which seems like an accident waiting to happen. Additionally there were cobwebs in the chandelier over the breakfast table. Wouldn't stay here again.

Nice location but needs some upgrading! Older cabin felt it was way over priced for the amenities...
Loved the location close to MTB, rock climbing and the lakes, looked great for skiing but we were there in summer! The bus system seemed great though we never used it! Needing some upgrades for sure for that reason we wouldn’t stay here again all old appliances, small appliances (blender hand mixer I recall owning as a child-need to be updated) couches sink very bad! Only one main tv in a corner of main living space making viewing hard for larger groups, no ac (did have multiple fans but they didn’t help much), if you have small children no high chair, all plates, bowls cups are glass, basic items I expect in a vrbo were missing (waffle maker, griddle, spatula, Tupperware) etc! Cute home just lacking in several areas! We loved having a garage! Had issue with ants in kitchen, basement bath, upstairs main bedroom. They were very great with instructions and ck in/out etc! Overall we had a great 4th with our family!

Great Location- Needs Updates
While the location of this house is great there are serveral things that need to be done to vastly improve the quality of guests stays. The couches absolutely need to be replaced, when you sit on them they sink to the floor. They are in absolute horrible shape and for the only seating inside it was a far cry from comfortable. The only outside furniture was wood and falling apart, unsafe for sitting. We had to bring our own lawn chairs onto the deck to sit. With such amazing views it would be lovely to have some nice outdoor furniture on both porches. There are exposed nails all over both decks which are a huge safety issue. We did not use the fireplace as it was summer during our stay but there is no gate or safety mechanism around either fireplace which is a major safety concern for children. There was also multiple exposed nails on the piece of trim going from the living room to dining room. The lack of air conditioning would not normally be a problem but when it gets to 90 degress in the day it was quite uncomfortable to sleep. The pillows on the bed are absolutely tragic, I have truly never felt a flatter pillow in my life. Even with 3 of them I had a hard time sleeping. The arcade in the downstairs room which was a major selling point is broken.

Great Location near North Star ski resort
Cozy home. Needs a bit of updating. For example the cookware was in bad shape. No lighters or matches to get the wood burning fireplace going. The promoted games in game room, some were broken. Other wise a good place to stay with family.

Traditional Tahoe cabin
Spent a week here during an awesome snow week. They had sleds and shovels available for us to play in the snow. Cabin is cozy with a downstairs “kids room” with multiple bunks. Place was clean, heating worked well, though downstairs was cooler, electric blankets helped keep downstairs sleepers warm at night. Kitchen a little antiquated with electric burners, but otherwise well stocked. Super convenient to catch the free shuttle to Northstar to ski. We had 5 awesome days of hitting the slopes!

Cute little cabin. Great location. Good price. Needs a little tlc but still good.
We loved this little cabin. It was a great location, beautiful neighborhood, short walk to the Northstar Village, access to Recreation Center with lots to do. The unit was clean but there were a few things that I think they could do better on. I wish they would include some extra and basic essentials. Bath rugs: There are no bath rugs for when you get out of the shower to prevent standing on a wet floor. Extra Bath Towels: We wished you would include some extra towels in the unit. There was only one per person hanging on the wall but if we had more people we would need more. Soap: Only some of the bathrooms had soap in them Toilet Paper: There was no extra toilet paper beyond the one roll These are things we consider travels should not have to bring with them and are expected to be in the unit same as staying in a hotel. There was a bug infestation in the laundry room downstairs but other than that the unit was still clean. They sent out pest control after we left I believe. Overall we loved this cabin. It was just right for our needs. It would be 5 stars if it included the basic toiletries and had the pests taken care of prior. We would be willing to stay here again. I hope they take care of those things prior.

Great Location
The proximity of this cabin to the Northstar slopes was a great perk. The house was spacious and equipped with pretty much anything you could need. There's a garage to park in. The driveway is treacherous in icy weather and were covered with icy snow upon arrival. The steps up to house were dangerous with ice/snow packing them. The cabin reminded me of my Grandma's house when I was young. Some would say it is ready for some updating but I enjoyed the retro feel of the cabin. It was very comfortable and was located close to the slopes so we were happy.

Softball Team loses out
The house accommodated our sleeping, showering and washing of uniforms. We were unfortunately, not happy with the condition of the cooking utensils (frying pans), cleanliness of the carpet, and the temperature of the home during the 98 degree heat wave. We needed to open the house up at night which brought in these strange beetle bugs. Not to mention being hyper vigilante of bears. We were really looking forward to using the Northstar Rec pool but there were no directions on how to even access it. A real bummer.
