Holiday home in Lacave for 5 people (with heated swimming pool in 2023)

This charming property built in 1864 has been decorated and furnished to a high standard, so that it can be enjoyed in all seasons. Wooden beams and floors, unusual features and carefully chosen soft furnishings all add to the cosy atmosphere. Rear garden swimming pool 7 x 3 metres.
The house is on 3 floors:
The ground floor: a spacious and well equipped kitchen and bar opening onto a dining area with an inglenook fireplace and wood-burning stove. There is also a utility room next to the kitchen.
First floor: a comfortable living room with two sofas, and a bedroom with a double bed and ensuite bathroom.
Second floor: a large air-conditioned family suite with one king size bed, two twin beds and a spacious shower room.

The garden: there is a very large vine covered terrace with lovely views of the village and cliffs of the Dordogne (500M away), with built-in barbecue and stylish garden furniture (dining area and separate lounge area with sofa). New for spring/summer 2023: a heated swimming pool with terrace and sun loungers in the rear garden (photos will be provided beginning 2023).

Lovely cottage in a small hamlet

We enjoyed our stay. Many beautiful nearby villages to explore. Cottage very comfortable for 2 couples. A 5 minute drive to bakery and small supermarket. Only minor downside is lack of internet .Would highly recommend.

A nice place in a history-rich area

We really enjoyed our stay here, for the most part. The property is a comfortable, lovingly updated house in a good location for getting to many of the area attractions. It is accurately described in the listing, Jerome is a helpful, speedy communicator, and the pool is a great recent addition. And the house and area information provided in the "house book" is probably the best we have encountered in 30 years of renting holiday properties from owners. However, a couple of things which may not be problematic for most were a bit tricky for us. We consider ourselves animal lovers; we put some of the supplied food out regularly while we were there, and enjoyed watching the antics of the kittens. However, if we opened the window on the ground floor, we had kittens on the kitchen counter. If we tried to eat in the beautiful outside area, we had kittens going after our plates. Note that I specified "kittens". This will probably not be an issue when they get older and have learned some manners. The other aspect that turned out to be more of a problem than we anticipated was the absence of wifi. (This was no surprise--it is clearly spelled out in the property listing.) We thought that we would be fine with the data service on our mobiles, but unfortunately the coverage was very spotty. This was mostly just an irritation, but became more of an issue when we had to try to resolve a major issue with our accomodations for the following week. Très beau sejour

Nous avons été ravis de passer ces quelques jours dans le Lot dans votre jolie maison. Les enfants ont beaucoup profité de la piscine qui était très appréciable avec la canicule. Nous reviendrons certainement !

Superbe maison idéalement située

La maison est magnifique, ancienne bâtisse rénovée avec style. Le jardin permet de profiter de la soirée, confortablement installé dans les fauteuils de jardin ou autour de la table. Beaucoup de moustiques mais le propriétaire avait laissé des bougies et autres répulsifs. Derriere la maison, la magnifique piscine, à 27°, sans vis à vis gênant. Notre séjour a plu à l'ensemble de la famille, en particulier grâce à la localisation avantageuse de la maison : 20 minutes de Rocamadour, 3 minutes des grottes de Lacave, 25 minutes de Martel, 25 minutes du gouffre de Padirac, 20 minutes de Souillac... Bref, pas trop de voiture pour profiter de cette région exceptionnelle ! Un grand merci au propriétaire de mettre à disposition un bien d'une telle qualité !

Super semaine !

Nous avons passé une très belle semaine au calme dans un village bien situé pour les visites. Il y a énormément de choses à voir. Nous avons découvert une maison authentique, pleine de charme, décorée avec goûts et très propre. L’extérieur de la maison est une pièce supplémentaire ombragée par la vigne et très bien équipée pour se détendre. La piscine est un plus très très appréciable après les journées de visites. Un excellent séjour!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour au Bougayrou! L'accueil a été excellent, avec de délicates attention, et la maison est très agréable, très joliment décorée. La localisation permet également d'aller très rapidement à Rocamadour, Souillac ou Martel et de profiter pleinement de cette jolie région. Et en plus, Cuistout est un chat adorable :) Nous recommendons vivement ce logement!

Tolles Haus, darum schon zum 2. Mal

Nach 2019 waren wir wieder in diesem sehr schönen Ferienhaus. Ein toller Ort für die völlige Entspannung. Das Haus ist komfortabel eingerichtet mit tollem Schlafzimmer und Bad unterm Dach. Ideal als Ausgangsort für Radtouren, Paddeln und Baden und wunderschöne Dörfer überall.

La quiétude dans une maison de charme

Nous avons passé un séjour parfait dans cette maison de charme , parfaitement au calme dans un petit hameau de caractère au bord de la Dordogne . La maison est bien équipée, l'espace extérieur tout à fait agréable pour les repas et à la détente à l'ombre de la treille . Elle est également très bien située à la fois pour les ballades dans les Causses (notamment en vélo mais VAE recommandés !) ou le long de la rivière et pour les nombreux sites de visite de la région . Belle maison dans la campagne.

Maison authentique, rénovée avec maintien d'aspects originaux. Cuisine bien équipée, tout comme la salle de bain avec chaque chambre à coucher. Au calme et bien située pour découvrir la région. Malheureusement, nous avions la canicule pendant notre séjour et pas moyen de raffraîchir la maison à un niveau acceptable à tous les étages = l'étoile en moins dans notre évaluation. Compte tenu de la problématique climatique, nous proposons ceci comme un point d'attention pour le futur. Nous aimons les chats : ceux qui adorent les calins tout autant que les opportunistes! Terrasse agréable et spacieuse devant la maison

Maison idéale

La maison du Bougayrou est vraiment le point de départ idéal pour découvrir cette magnifique région. D'une propreté exemplaire (bravo à Mme Miramon), elle est extrêmement confortable et parfaitement équipée. Il ne manque rien ! On s'y sent comme à la maison, et même mieux ! Décorée avec beaucoup de goût, nous avions grand plaisir à la retrouver le soir (ainsi que la famille-chats dont les facéties nous ont bien divertis !) après une belle journée de visites. Une location qui mérite amplement ses 5 étoiles !

Tolles Ferienhaus, super Ausstattung

Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt in diesem Ferienhaus. Von der Lage ist es klasse geeignet um e- bike Toren zu unternehmen oder in der Dordogne zu baden, oder zu paddeln. Die Küche ist mit allem was man zum Kochen braucht super bestückt. Wir kommen wieder👍

Tout s'est bien passé! Les images reflètent la réalite. La maison est bien conçue. Tout y est, sauf le WiFi. Le Bougayrou est idéalement situé pur découvrir la région (pour la première fois): Lacave, Rocamadour, Lascaux, Collonges-la-Rouge, Martel, ... Seul b-mol: les mouches nous ont empêché de manger dehors (il y en avait des dizaines), malgré les mesures de précaution prises. C'était très domage.

very nice and cozy house, wonderful outside setting

We spent a great week in Lacave. The house is great, furnished with style, cozy, the kitchen has really everything. With 2 adults and 2 teens it was perfect - however most of the time we have spent outside and this is just wonderful (although located in a small village we felt great on this terrace in front of the house). Connection to small stores or Boulanger is close enough (5 min.), bathing in Dordogne river is also very close and a wonderful relaxing and refreshing thing to enjoy. The hosts took great care to give a lot of details of any kind for the visitors. So we can only say Merci! and definitively recommend it.

Lovely house in a small village in the Dordogne region. Very well presented home.

Had a wonderful 7 days relaxing in the Dordogne region. The house was very well presented, Maude met us on arrival and showed us around the property, lots of extra features and decor that were really appealing. Loved the log fire, kept us cozy on cool evenings. This region of Quercy is particularly beautiful, with lovely villages, castles and Chateau, A must to visit is Rocamadour only 20 minutes from the house. Also very impressed with Gouffe De Padirac, a very impressive journey through caves with huge stalagtites, partly by boat and part walking. Jerome provided a lot of very useful information in the red folder describing items in the house and information about the surrounding area, great that it was presented in both French and English with bountiful pictures to aid understanding. My wife and I truly enjoyed staying at Jerome’s place and would love to come visit again. Lorenz and Ginny Hansen

Très satisfaits

La location est très confortable et accueillante au niveau de sa décoration L' extérieur invite à la détente, à l'apéro et aux bons barbecues ! Les alentours proches offrent de belles visites comblant bien vos journées et les retours au gîte après les visites, sont un vrai plaisir Nous vous conseillons sans hésitation cette très belle maison qui a gardé tout le charme d' antan mais bien réfléchie pour que rien ne manque, merci aux propriétaires et à Mme Miramon pour son agréable accueil Véronique, patrick de Bruxelles

Très jolie et agréable location

La maison est très agréable, décorée avec goût et l'on s'y sent aussitôt chez soi. Le jardin est encore plus agréable, il y fait bon se reposer avec une vue magnifique sur les falaises, et tous le confort pour y manger midi et soir à l'ombre de la vigne. Location à recommander
