We arrived to find the key for the property in the door, as hosts were out, so we were able to enter immediately. First impressions were a beautiful cottage, well equipped and tidy, with a private patio, the grounds are stunning and well maintained. It was our anniversary and the host had left a cake on our arrival, a nice touch! later we met both Sarah and Jonathan and exchanged pleasantries. During the night we were woken to the sound of loud buzzing, on investigation we discovered an infestation of beetles , that seemed to be coming out of the skirting boards, whilst cleaning we found several large cobwebs and enormous spiders throughout the cottage, including both on and in the bedding and a large slug on the steps to the kitchen.. we decided not to disturb the hosts at such an unsocial hour we spent until 4am clearing the insects and cleaning the cottage so that we could sleep. but in the morning, not wanting a repeat performance we decided to leave . We spoke to Sarah, who was apologetic and offered us a full refund, she said they had found this earlier in the year but no one had mentioned it since and must be due to harvesting. Sarah followed this with a couple of emails, one confirming a refund and another telling me they went to the cottage and found nothing and that they were now out of pocket owing to my refund and that I should have contacted them through the night. clearly we did a better job of cleaning the cottage than the housekeeper!

Quiet country getaway
This is a beautifully renovated farm cottage perfectly located on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds surrounded by pretty countryside and villages. Within easy reach of windmills, castles, gardens and beautiful beaches. Really nice for cycling as the landscape is undulating rather then outright hilly. Lovely homebaked scones on arrival. Recommended.

A lovely rural location
We arrived in the pouring rain and were greeted by our host carrying homemade lemon drizzle cake. The property is a little tired but we enjoyed our stay.

The accommodation far exceeded expectations , easily the best of many so far !.The bathroom was a delight with loads of piping hot water and plenty of lovely towels. Although we did no cooking the kitchen was well stocked with cutlery ,china & pans all in perfect condition as was the frig..The furnishings including beds etc were of the same high standard throughout. The wifi worked perfectly even for this computer idiot. John & Sarah are charming helpful hosts
